Chapter 1452: Chapter 2: Trouble (2)

Although the appearance of the bandit army’s B-level fleet came after the dust had settled, their presence at this time instead garnered more admiration from the ship captains than if they had appeared during the battle.

Because everyone knew that achieving this victory was by no means a fluke.

***************************************************************************************

The fleet arrived at the Leifeng Star Domain nine hours later.

Along the way, this massive fleet forced the Jiepeng Fleet to keep a distance. In this domain, aside from Mikami Yuto’s super fleet and the Suss people’s main fleet, few dared to provoke five A-level fleets. Most were merely loitering along the routes, searching for Western Alliance B-level fleets that attacked the Fei Alliance’s logistics; approaching them now would be seeking death.

When the fleet was two segments away from Leifeng Star, it rendezvoused with the Qian Bolin Fleet. Upon seeing the Jiepeng warships, which originally belonged to the Jiepeng Dragon Rider Fleet within the bandit army fleet, all the officers and soldiers of the Qian Bolin Fleet were almost dumbfounded.

Within a short three hours, the fleet cleared the Leifeng Star Domain and opened a path in the atmosphere of Leifeng Star using fighter jets. On January 3rd at 8:40 AM, two giant transport ships slowly descended onto Phoenix City of Leifeng Star.

Phoenix City is a plain city. The straight-line distance from east to west and north to south exceeds two hundred kilometers. Although it can’t compare to Hanjing, it can be considered a large city.

However, now this city looks more like a gigantic military camp.

Military flying cars bumped along the pothole-ridden roads.

The planets and cities of the Resk Star System, after years of artillery bombardment, were no longer as prosperous as before. Large and small craters were everywhere, and even the roads, though repaired, were uneven. Magnetic metal lines were long gone; all flying cars had to lower their wheels and travel in the oldest manner.

In the distance, towering buildings looked like a forest burned by fire. At a glance, all one could see were rows of twisted alloy frames towering into the sky. The pockmarked exterior walls emitted various sounds in the wind from the broken remnants, and the cross-sections were filled with rubble and steel rebar that looked sheared diagonally... everything was so desolate.

But the ground was lively. On the road leading to the Military Department, military vehicles and Mechas kept coming and going. Temporary military camps were built along the roadsides, countless soldiers were busily running back and forth. There were Chuckna soldiers, Feiyang soldiers, and many from various countries’ alliance forces.

In the small grove by the street, camouflage nets were hung up. Several Command Mecha cabins were spread out, forming a temporary open-air command post. Such command posts could be seen everywhere and usually served as Level 1 basic command posts. Third-class soldiers, second-class soldiers, corporals, sergeants... most of those coming and going were ordinary soldiers or low-ranking officers not above the rank of Captain.

Simple modular barracks were not carefully and uniformly planned; each battalion or company placed them according to the actual terrain of its area. Clothes were hung, infirmaries full of wounded soldiers, tightly guarded temporary weapons warehouses, and Mechas being repaired passed by as the flying cars moved.

As Fatty watched these soldiers full of the smell of gunpowder, the soldiers marching or sitting around empty ammunition boxes observed the convoy heading to the high-alert level areas. Upon seeing that soldiers and officers in the convoy wore different uniforms from theirs, many stopped or stood up clutching metal coffee cups.

Their faces showed smiles of surprise, with some waving enthusiastically and others watching intently.

”Hey, guys, are you the reinforcements just arrived?” a Chuckna second-class soldier shouted.

Perhaps someone in the convoy nodded, causing the second-class soldier and his companions to become excited instantly. ”Hit those Western Alliance bastards hard,” these dirty soldiers shouted and waved, making all sorts of strange cries. Before the convoy left their sight, they shouted, ”Good luck, guys. You came just in time.”

The convoy crossed nearly half of Phoenix City from the landing site to the command post. The scene was identical along the way.

However, with the guiding vehicles turning left and right, constantly shuttling through city streets and bridges, the inspections became more stringent, the barracks more orderly, and the soldiers more seasoned.

”I... like... it here,” Fatty said while his flesh jiggled with the bumps inside the flying car, his voice becoming disjointed, ”Much better... on land than... being shut in an iron box... drifting in space.”

No one paid attention to him, not even Margaret; all the officers, including Margaret, turned pale from the flying car’s jolting.

This torment finally ended in front of a well-preserved building.

As Fatty stepped out of the flying car, dozens of officers wearing different uniforms waiting on the door steps erupted into applauses like thunder.

Chuckna Admiral Chen Fengxi, who was of medium build with thick eyebrows and big eyes, quickly came up, shook Fatty’s hand, and said, ”Welcome to Leifeng Star, General Tian.”

Then the welcoming officers also surrounded the bandit army officers stepping out of the flying cars. Everyone exchanged handshakes and greetings.

”Please, come in,” Chen Fengxi said while walking shoulder to shoulder with Fatty up the steps, smiling, ”General Tian, I just received news from Admiral Qian Bolin. He told me you solved a big problem for him in the Bull Tail system.”

Upon hearing Chen Fengxi’s words, the previously noisy greetings suddenly lowered in volume. The welcoming officers perked up their ears and keenly observed the bandit army officers’ expressions.

They had just received this news. The complete obliteration of the Dragon Rider Fleet and the death of Auben was a shot in the arm for the current Resk Battle. However, the news was too inconceivable, making it hard for everyone to believe.

”I specialize in solving problems,” Fatty barely controlled his pride, projecting a nonchalant expression, ”be it big or small problem.....”

”Screech.....” Suddenly, a sharp emergency brake sounded behind them.

More than a dozen officers who were about to enter the command post instinctively turned their heads at the same time.

A military flying car stopped in front of them. A Lieutenant Colonel staff officer, sweating profusely, jumped off the flying car and rushed toward Chen Fengxi. As he went up the steps, the staff officer almost tripped.

”Sir,” the breathless Lieutenant Colonel stumbled, then stabilized himself by pressing his hand on the steps, handing over a document to Chief of Staff Pierre: ”Emergency report.”

Pierre, whose face wasn’t good to begin with, opened the report, and after two glances, his face went pale as if drained of blood.

He quickly ascended the steps, walked through the passage cleared by the officers, reached Chen Fengxi, and handed the document over to Chen Fengxi: ”Admiral, I think we have encountered a big problem. Frenso Town in the Northern Battle Zone was taken by the Jiepeng Army, the 172nd Division of the Seventeenth Army’s defenses have fallen, and the entire force wiped out. Currently, the enemy is advancing along the intercity highway from Frenso Town into the depths of our defense line. According to reliable intelligence, the enemy has deployed a Judger Armor Company from the Binart Empire in this direction...”

He swallowed hard and urgently said to Chen Fengxi: ”....Sir, we must block them before the enemy breaks through our defenses. Otherwise, if they manage to flank and bypass to the rear of our other defense lines, the consequences will be unimaginable.”

”Judger Force?!”

At the mention of this name, the scene immediately became restless. The officers’ faces turned extremely grim. Everyone knew before that the Western Alliance deployed Judger Forces on Leifeng Star, but they didn’t expect this force to appear so soon.

According to legend, the only ones who can resist this force are......

For a moment, all eyes were focused on Fatty, who had just nonchalantly claimed to specialize in solving problems, but now his eyes widened, and his mouth was agape enough to swallow several large duck eggs.
