Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1454: Chapter 9-3: Plan 2

This means that the current situation map and sand table cannot accurately reflect the battlefield dynamics. Developing plans based on such intelligence may lead to decisions that completely diverge from the actual battlefield situation.

”Yes,” Chen Fengxi nodded, and said to Fatty: ”However, the enemy is in the same predicament. After all, this is our territory, and our SkyNet is backed by the original main SkyNet System, so they can’t take much advantage. Moreover, the space control of the planet changes hands frequently, and the ground electronic systems of both us and the enemy have almost been completely destroyed, allowing communication to remain smooth only within limited areas.”

”Hmm.” Fatty nodded and breathed a sigh of relief.

In warfare, intelligence is absolutely paramount. Once the SkyNet System is destroyed, it practically means defeat. It’s like a normal person fighting someone who is both blind and deaf. Even if this person is strong, unable to see the opponent, they can still be easily knocked down.

The electronic situation on Leifeng Star now is similar to the conditions seen in many large-scale campaigns, where both sides exhaust their resources attacking and suppressing each other, ultimately resulting in mutual destruction.

During the ongoing phase of the campaign, the electronic superiority of both sides frequently changes hands. This may be due to a special ops team attacking the opponent’s electronic base, or a high-intelligence individual discovering the opponent’s weaknesses, or the Space Fleet temporarily achieving control, with numerous electronic ships flaunting their prowess in the sky.

Under these uncertain conditions, the genuine contest lies in the frontline electronic warfare. If an armored unit can suppress the communications command of the opponent, monumental advantages can be gained. This not only manifests as obvious combat superiority but also gives precedence in terms of contacting reinforcements, ambushes, and logistical supplies.

Fatty continued to focus on the electronic sand table without responding to Chen Fengxi’s question.

He furrowed his brow, the center of his brows forming a character resembling the Chinese character ”Chuan”, and his somewhat simple and muddled face, lacking any expression, seemed even more wooden and dazed.

Chen Fengxi and Pierre exchanged a glance, both inwardly sighing simultaneously. They felt that the just-arrived General Tian on Leifeng Star clearly did not want to engage in battle prematurely.

At this moment, forcing him to immediately engage in combat is evidently demanding too much. His troops haven’t even disembarked from the giant transport ship, haven’t established their camp, and haven’t set up headquarters. He has justifiable reasons to refuse. No one could blame him. Moreover, it was the appearance of that damned Judger Force.

Problems follow one after another. After unexpectedly solving a major problem for Qian Bolin, General Tian brought another problem to the ground.

From the landing of the transport ship to the convoy’s arrival at the command headquarters, countless warriors have likely witnessed this army. Within this short one to two hours, the news of reinforcements coming is probably already spreading throughout the entire unit. Except for these few higher-ups in the command headquarters, who else would know that in the coming month, Resk would only get reinforcements from these five divisions.

The warriors below have all fought bitterly. Deploying a division up there would see less than a regiment returning. Whether they are infantry or armored soldiers, towards the end they can only be mixed together. Now in Phoenix City, countless units have had their establishments disrupted, numerous soldiers who were part of the Armored Division just yesterday have turned into infantry for another unit today.

Everyone longs for reinforcements to arrive. This is not wishful thinking. After all, the command headquarters is well aware of how the situation is after holding out for so long here. They definitely would not stand by watching the western line of Phoenix City collapse, squandering the favorable situation on Leifeng Star. The third batch of reinforcements has been rumored widely, and everyone has calculated it should be around this time.

If everyone realizes that all the reinforcements are on those two giant transport ships, then without even fighting, the western line would crumble.

No matter how it is concealed, the revelation of this news wouldn’t exceed a week.

Once there are no more reinforcements arriving gradually, even the most brainless individual will understand the situation isn’t looking so great. When various rumors and bits of gossip spread within the battle zone, morale will plummet abruptly.

Or perhaps we won’t even have to wait until that time.

The Jiepeng people have already deployed the Judger Force. If the passage at Frenso isn’t secured, in less than three days, from the Northern Battle Zone to the Southern Combat Zone, thousands of kilometers of the defense line along longitude 105 will be utterly ransacked. Just like a dam with concentrated seepage, starting from a small water hole, the breach gets larger until it collapses over hundreds of miles.

”Admiral,” Pierre straightened his back and looked at Chen Fengxi. As a Feiyang Soldier, he maintained his pride even at this final moment: ”Deploy my 33rd Army. The Charloks Mountain Range is very close to Frenso Town. Pulling troops from the rear to take over the defense, the 33rd Army can enter battle within ten hours.”

Chen Fengxi gazed at the map, his expression solemn.

Pierre’s Feiyang Dalarpeya 33rd Army has been withstanding the attacks of Bellif’s Suss’s 21st Army Group at the Charloks Mountain Range. The battle has been intense. If the resting Chuckna Division stationed in the rear could be deployed, there would be no concern about losing the defense line. But the issue is, can they withstand the Western Alliance’s offensive?

This seems to be the only solution; other troops can’t be moved, and those that can can’t match the elite status of the 33rd Army....

Just as he hesitated, Fatty’s voice suddenly reached his ears.

”The Charloks Mountain’s 33rd Army can be redeployed?! That’s great, problem solved.”

Chen Fengxi frowned, feeling displeased. How could he be so tactless? You just arrived, and everyone understands if you can’t engage in battle right now. But since they are allied troops, and they have decided to put their troops on the line, why bother stepping in unnecessarily? Regardless, they won’t have your troops nibble on this tough bone, can’t you secretly rejoice?

Pierre standing by let out a cold snort, turning his head aside. Even Margaret didn’t bother to glance at him.

Ever since realizing there were only five divisions of reinforcements, he didn’t have much hope for this campaign.

The hall suddenly became somewhat tense, yet Fatty didn’t seem affected. He excitedly pointed at the electronic sand table and said: ”I have an idea, the 33rd Army deploys three divisions, I’ll deploy two, and together we’ll swallow this damn thing.”

”Swallow?” All the officers present were taken aback simultaneously.

Chen Fengxi asked suspiciously: ”General Tian, are you saying you’re planning to......”

”Fight.” Fatty replied naively.

He picked up the lever for the electronic sand table and pointed at Frenso Town, saying: ”Look, our intelligence suggests the enemy has only three divisions total. After occupying Frenso Town, they’re currently advancing east along the interstate highway, attempting to seize Half Cloud Ridge twenty kilometers east of the town. Half Cloud Ridge has four high grounds and a small agricultural area with less than twenty thousand people. If they secure this, it’s equivalent to establishing a bridgehead in front of Frenso Town. As long as their subsequent troops can catch up in time, this gap in the defense line would open up entirely.”

Looking at the sand table and listening to Fatty’s analysis, the officers present couldn’t help but nod.

Although further frontline battle reports haven’t come in yet, the current movements of the enemy’s three divisions likely align with General Tian’s predictions. Half Cloud Ridge is indeed a crucial area to contest. As soon as they advance there, they can halt and wait for the subsequent troops to catch up, paving the way through the defense line and maneuvering along both flanks.

In just a few minutes, recognizing the significance of Half Cloud Ridge reveals General Tian’s solid military expertise. Without being a top student from the Military Academy, it’s impossible to have such insight.

”What’s your plan of action?” Pierre pondered, thinking about Fatty’s two divisions.

”I’ll have one division rush to capture Half Cloud Ridge, blocking the enemy. The other division will deploy from our defense line, forty kilometers south of Frenso Town, piercing through the enemy’s Jiepeng 1912 Division stationed here, cutting across to the north and blocking their subsequent troops.” The high-achieving Tian Dabang made a fierce encirclement gesture with both hands, then looked at Pierre, slicing towards Frenso Town with knife-like fingers: ”I’ll leave the rest to you!”

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Pierre’s 33rd Army, advancing along the defense line from the Charloks Mountain Range, was manageable.

But Fatty’s two divisions, one head-on facing cycles of attacks from an enemy division including Judger Force and three Armored Divisions. The other tail-end should, within twenty-four hours, emerge from the side defense line, pierce through the frontal enemy, then maneuver to the west of Frenso Town, facing assaults from untold numbers of enemies, enduring for at least forty-eight hours...

Such a battle plan is indeed too bold!
