Chapter 1483: Chapter 9 Vol. 17: Beginning the Battle with Victory (Part 2)

Hundreds of staff officers with different responsibilities were working nervously, each putting their heart and soul into their tasks.

As the core hub of this war, possessing the revitalizing SkyNet, they not only knew much more than the frontline combat units but also more than the enemy’s command center.

They cherished everything they currently had.

Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will be invincible in a hundred battles. This military principle, even now, thousands of years later, has not become obsolete. Understanding the enemy’s movements and grasping the overall situation of the battlefield allows one to make the most accurate judgments and the most timely responses!

For the imminent decisive battle, this is extremely precious.

Now, an entire twenty Western Alliance Armored Divisions have surged into the Sunset Mountain Basin. The Bellif Northern Group Army has advanced the front line to the foot of Sunset Mountain.

All strategic points west of Sunset Mountain have basically fallen into the hands of the Western Alliance Army. Only Seven-star Town and Xiushui River Town remain islands stubbornly resisting amid heavy encirclement by enemy forces.

Behind Sunset Mountain lies the Sunset Mountain Satellite City situated on the basin plain.

The pressure on the front line is immense. Admiral Fran, the battlefield commander, has requested reinforcements several times. However, the requests for reinforcements have all been suppressed at the command post.

The troops were sent up, but to hide strategic intentions, now is not the time to engage in a battle formation with Bellif.

Apart from Admiral Fran and a few other senior officers, the rest of the frontline soldiers did not know that as early as the Western Alliance’s attack on Sunset Mountain, the command center had already made a pre-emptive judgment. Two nearest armored divisions had been moved to the Sunset Mountain Battle Zone. As the enemy gradually advanced east along the sixth resource highway, six more divisions moved up. An advance base capable of reinforcing the front line at any time was constructed behind the Sunset Mountain Defense Line.

The remaining more distant units are now rushing overnight toward Sunset Mountain. By dawn, the Front Army will concentrate the strength of twenty divisions at Sunset Mountain!

Undeniably, Bellif successfully commanded a lightning assault. Twenty Western Alliance Armored Divisions surged into the Sunset Mountain Basin with lightning speed, occupying all towns, heights, and traffic points in the mountainous and small hilly areas of the western basin. However, they have yet to cross that low mountain ridge guarded by Admiral Fran.

That ridge is the first mountain ridge that can be seen looking west from the satellite city on the plain. Every day, the sun belonging to Leifeng Star sets behind that ridge.

That is Sunset Mountain.

The Western Alliance Army can never claim to have occupied the Sunset Mountain Basin and the Sunset Mountain Satellite City, as long as they do not cross this low ridge!

The task of the Sunset Mountain Defense Line is to hold the Western Alliance’s main force in a seemingly precarious state until the forces at the rear complete the assembly, and the bandit army completes a stunning encirclement from Frenso Town!

Entering the command, Chen Fengxi walked straight towards Margaret and other bandit army officers standing silently at the SkyNet Control Console.

”Commander, Chief of Staff.” Feeling Chen Fengxi and Pierre coming to her side, Margaret nodded in acknowledgment.

”How’s it going over in Frenso Town?” Chen Fengxi glanced at the time.

Margaret stared at the SkyNet screen, shaking her head slightly, ”The 33rd Army has just arrived at Frenso Town, and the main attack was launched less than half an hour ago. No news yet.”

”Just received news from Hanjing, Marshal Hastings and the Chuckna Military Department have agreed to our battle plan.” Chen Fengxi intently watched the still red arrow at Frenso Town on the screen, slowly saying, ”The only worry now is the Judger Force. Not sure if General Tian can.......”

With a bitter smile, Chen Fengxi did not continue.

Mentioning the Judger, the atmosphere became somewhat oppressive. The busy staff around instinctively lowered their voices and slowed their steps.

Everyone knew that in the entire battle plan, there were two extremely risky parts.

Firstly, the bandit army must completely destroy the three Western Alliance Armored Divisions and their follow-up troops in Frenso Town and advance from south to north through six war zones, defeating all the enemies along the way to implement an encirclement of the main Bellif Northern Cluster at Sunset Mountain.

Secondly, the main force of the Leifeng Star Army must withstand the Western Alliance’s main force’s successive attacks at Sunset Mountain until the bandit army completes the strategic encirclement.

And among these parts, the biggest concern is the variable of the Judger Force!

If they do not annihilate the Judger in Frenso Town, the bandit army will be unable to advance from Frenso Town to execute the strategic encirclement. Even if enforced, the entire battle plan risks being stalled or having its intentions exposed early on due to the presence of the Judger.

Moreover, in the case of Sunset Mountain, the threat of the Judger is even greater. It is known that Bellif still has at least two entire companies of Judger in their hands. Once these units are deployed to Sunset Mountain and break through the defense line, the entire battle situation could collapse.

Although Fatty’s battle plan included detailed arrangements for the defense of Sunset Mountain, not only transferring a Special Forces Camp of the First Armored Division there. The main arriving units were also ready to reinforce at any time. However, all this is not certain. Unless the bandit army can complete the encirclement in time, otherwise, the Sunset Mountain Defense Line will sooner or later be breached.

Chen Fengxi is not a loquacious general, but his insistence on supporting Tian Xingjian and mentioning this issue now indicates how worried he is.

The general attack on Frenso Town has been launched. This is the first battle against the Judger. It holds extremely significant meaning for the overall battle and the morale of all alliance forces.

Annihilating the Judger in Frenso Town not only means opening the passage to the west of Frenso Town but also signifies the collapse of the terrifying and invincible myth of the Judger in front of all alliance troops!

Watching Chen Fengxi’s bitter smile, Margaret didn’t speak, and the bandit army officers nearby also remained silent.

They have confidence in the bandit army, but such confidence cannot be conveyed through words. What’s capable of conveying confidence to others is only a decisive victory!

Since this heavy topic wasn’t continued, the staff officers shook off the worries in their minds and got busy. The command resumed normal operation.

No one knew how much time passed; suddenly, a clear electronic sound came from the console. A battle report appeared on the screen, flashing red.

”Battle report,” a staff officer opened the battle report and suddenly yelled: ”Great victory, Frenso great victory!”

With this staff officer’s shout, the entire command seemed to solidify. The numerous electronic system beeps and phone rings rendered the command hall unusually silent.

”The complete annihilation of the Suss 179 Armored Division!” a staff officer on the left shouted.

”The complete annihilation of the Suss 241 Armored Division!” a staff officer on the right shouted.

”The complete annihilation of the Jiepeng 85 Armored Division!” a staff officer far away raised his hand and shouted loudly.

”A total of 14,619 enemies killed, 8,394 captured, and the capture of Mecha weapons is being tallied!”

The staff’s excited reports flowed continuously.

Everyone’s hearts felt as if a series of pounding battle drums were beating from their chests to their throats.

”...The enemy Judger Fifth Squadron was completely annihilated,” a staff officer jumped up from his chair: ”Not one escaped!”

The clench-fisted officers looked sharply at the big screen.

On the screen, the red arrow that had remained at Frenso Town moved quickly at this moment, piercing westward like a sharp sword.

The war has begun with victory!

The entire command burst into cheers, boiling with excitement.
