Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 439, Level 100, Ghost General

“Is it really that dangerous?” Lu Fan smiled, thought for a moment before answering seriously, “Actually, I’ve been thinking about it. I don’t believe it is necessarily the case for me. I have quite a few trump cards in hand. Even if I’m not a match for a severely injured Adult Giant Dragon, escaping should not be a big problem for me.”

“Don’t worry, Senior Sister, I’m quite confident in my abilities. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have set my sights on the Devouring Dragon King. For me, this opportunity is crucial. If I seize it, I might soar to new heights!”

Lu Fan’s words caused Ye Wuxian to fall into deep thought. After a long while, she said if it were up to her to decide, she definitely would not let him face such dangers.

However, if Lu Fan was determined to go, what could she do besides support him as much as possible?

Ye Wuxian even considered accompanying Lu Fan to Dragon Fall Valley to take a look. After all, she was a Fourth Profession Player, perhaps she could be of some help.

However, Lu Fan refused.

Why? Because this journey was not a place like Shadow Isle. It was a place with an actual Adult Giant Dragons!

Lu Fan was only confident in protecting himself, but not in safeguarding Ye Wuxian.

After being refused, Ye Wuxian understood that she would be a burden to him, so she abandoned the idea of accompanying him to Dragon Fall Valley.

She told Lu Fan that since that was the case, she would handle the logistics and provide everything she could to give Lu Fan a better chance at Dragon Fall Valley.

After returning to the Ye Family Residence, Ye Wuxian had lunch with Lu Fan, then mobilized all the Ye Family resources as Lu Fan requested. She brought the transcript of the Old Patriarch’s account of Dragon Fall Valley, along with three Random Teleport Scrolls and various Poison Potions.

The Poison Potions were naturally meant to enhance the power of Ji Ji’s Origin of All Poisons Skill.

Poison Potions were generally used for applying poison on weapons. So, it was a rather niche type of Potion. Even with the vast resources of the Ye Family, they only found about twenty different kinds.

These twenty or so Potions only contained four types of Poison Effects: Corrosion, Burn, Movement Speed Reduction, and Attribute Reduction.

Different potions varied only in their Debuff values, while their Effects remained largely the same.

Lu Fan fed all the potions to Ji Ji, and sure enough, Ji Ji’s Origin of All Poisons Skill Levelled Up. The Current Poison Rating Level became 2, and the Poison Effects changed to Corrosion, Burn, Movement Speed Reduction, and Attribute Reduction.

It seemed that Ji Ji could transform all the poisons she encountered into Debuffs for her own poison. In the future, when she used skills to inflict Poison Debuffs on her enemies, they would suffer from these four Effects.

However, Lu Fan was not satisfied with this.

There were countless types of poisons in the world! Lu Fan wanted to add more Debuff Effects to Ji Ji’s poison! This way, his future enemies would learn the true meaning of torment!

The Three Ancient Noble Families had limited resources in terms of poisons. So, they could not gather any more different types of poisons.

If Lu Fan wanted to make Ji Ji stronger, he would need to slowly search by himself.

Lu Fan had learned through the Explorer’s Journal and the Old Patriarch’s transcript that the Monsters in Dragon Fall Valley were almost all poisonous, and they carried with them various types of poisons.

So, for this trip to Dragon Fall Valley, the biggest beneficiary should be Ji Ji!

After a day of preparation, Lu Fan was ready to head to Dragon Fall Valley.

Ye Wuxian had wanted to send Lu Fan part of the way with a mechanical bird, but Lu Fan refused, saying that, ‘changing transportation would be too troublesome. It would be most convenient for me to ride Ye Sha all the way to Dragon Fall Valley.’

After refusing Ye Wuxian, Lu Fan summoned Ye Sha and mounted the Dragon Saddle on him.

Ye Sha, without a word, entered his Concealment State with Lu Fan on top and he flew toward the coordinates of Dragon Fall Valley at extremely high speed. He was many times faster than the Divine Bone Clone.

Moreover, with Ye Sha in Concealment, the Monsters in the Western Border could not even detect Lu Fan’s presence. This ensured he could reach Dragon Fall Valley at maximum speed.

Seeing Lu Fan disappear, Ye Wuxian knew he had definitely left.

She looked in the direction of Dragon Fall Valley, gritting her teeth somewhat indignantly, “In the past, this kid was constantly trampled by me in the Arena. Yet, in just a few months, he’s become so formidable that even I have become a burden to him. This is unacceptable! I can’t let him pull too far ahead. Otherwise, I won’t be able to maintain myself as his Senior Sister!”

As she spoke, Ye Wuxian clenched her fists and addressed the Ye Family members behind her. “Prepare some materials for me to Level Up. I’m going to the Earth Core Magma Cave to hone my skills. During my absence, Huang Yingheng will temporarily take charge of the Ye Family.”

“Yes!” The Ye Family servants responded in unison, while some returned to prepare the necessary items for Ye Wuxian’s training.

The Earth Core Magma Cave was originally a Map Resource discovered by the Huang Family.

The Earth Cores produced in this Map had unparalleled effects for those specializing in Fire Element Magic. It allowed Players to become more proficient in their Profession Characteristics.

When Ye Wuxian was organizing the resources of the Three Ancient Noble Families, she discovered this Map Resource and was overjoyed. As a Battle Mage proficient in the Fire Element, Earth Cores were extremely useful to her.

With enough Earth Cores, she might even reach Level 97.

Although people were constantly mining in the Earth Core Magma Cave, the output of Earth Cores was low. Further inside, Monsters would occasionally appear, making it impossible for ordinary Miners to enter.

If Ye Wuxian wanted more Earth Cores, she needed to go to the Earth Cores Magma Cave herself to mine as much as possible.

Normally, a Young Lady like Ye Wuxian would never personally enter a Map to mine. However, just to quickly improve her strength and catch up to Lu Fan, Ye Wuxian was willing to do hard labour.

Ye Wuxian’s preparations were not complicated. In just half a day, she packed everything she needed into her Inventory and then rode a mechanical bird to the Earth Cores Magma Cave.

…

Just as Ye Wuxian had entered the Earth Cores Magma Cave, less than five hundred kilometres from the Ye Family Residence…

*Rumble!* A giant about ten meters tall appeared, his skin a patch of purplish-black, his body covered in talismans, his hands and feet shackled with iron chains as thick as wrists. With one punch, he smashed open a small mountain, creating a passage for him to continue forward without having to detour.

On the giant’s shoulder sat a male midget holding a string of copper bells, gently shaking them.

The midget lay comfortably on the giant’s shoulder, eyes narrowed, his tone venomous. “The Huang Family is already three days past the deadline and they still haven’t delivered the Earth Cores my Sister needs. To think they dare to force me to personally come here.”

“Those old fools from the Huang Family are nothing but trouble. Since I’m not here, it’s time to teach the Huang Family a lesson – let them know the power of the Ning Family.”

“Don’t you agree, Ghost General?”

The giant beneath him gave no response, merely continuing to walk forward.

And above this giant’s head, his information was fully displayed without any Concealment.

Zhuang Meng, Fourth Profession Mountain Breaker (Ghost General), Level 100
Silavin: Technically, the Ghost General is called a JiangShi. Those zombies that go hop hop hop and have a talisman on their forehead. But, I think Ghost General is easier for English readers to understand.
