Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 431, New Pet Dragon, Hell Poison Dragon King!

The Flying Immortal Ancient Shrine was not large. Determining where the Treasure Map Coordinates pointed to was extremely easy.

Soon, Lu Fan arrived at the coordinates, which happened to be directly in front of the clay statue.

He bowed to the clay statue, purely seeking some psychological comfort. “Senior, please ensure this Treasure Map yields a Dragon Egg. I’ve had such bad luck for so long, it’s time for my fortune to change, right?”

After speaking, Lu Fan used the Treasure Map.

[I seriously got a Dragon Egg from this!?] Lu Fan was ecstatic, his empty Pet Slot would finally be usable!

“Thank you, Senior. I’ll have someone properly repair the ancient temple outside for you.” Lu Fan happily said, then sat on the ground and began examining what he had gained from the Treasure Map.

Lu Fan was very curious about what kind of Giant Dragon would hatch from this Dragon Egg.

Opening the System Sub-Space and focusing on this new Dragon Egg, Lu Fan was surprised at how many different kinds of Dragon there were.

The Dragon Egg looked unusual, unlike other Dragon Eggs that resembled crafted Artifacts. This Dragon Egg appeared extremely ominous, with its eggshell displaying a dark green colour with some spray-like black spots, as if it had moulded. Moreover, a faint green gas continuously rose from the Dragon Egg, which was clearly far from anything ‘divine’.

Seeing the appearance of this Dragon Egg, Lu Fan felt his scalp tingle. Among all the Dragon Eggs he had seen, he had never encountered one with such an ominous appearance as this.

[Just what kind of Dragon would hatch from this?] Lu Fan glanced at the Attribute Panel  of this Dragon Egg, and his previously anxious heart relaxed.

Dragon Egg: (Mythical Grade Special Item)
Description: Dragon Taming Skill can be used on it to tame it. Upon successful use, obtain Pet Dragon – Hell Poison Dragon King – Endless Abyss (Infant Form).

Lu Fan had worried that since this Dragon Egg was so unusual, it might hatch into a normal Giant Dragon rather than a Dragon King.

When Xing Chen was claimed, she was just an ordinary Starry Sky Dragon. It was only after Lu Fan used the Divine Tree Essence that she evolved into a Dragon King.

For Lu Fan, ordinary Giant Dragons were too weak. After all, even the Flying Dragon King had become the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King, a Quasi-Dragon King. If another ordinary Giant Dragon joined, Lu Fan would find it difficult to regard it highly.

Now, after confirming this Dragon Egg contained a Dragon King, Lu Fan felt reassured.

[But, a Hell Poison Dragon King, huh?] From the name alone, Lu Fan could guess this Pet Dragon must be a master of poison.

As for what abilities it possessed and what role it would fill as a Pet Dragon, he would need to wait after it hatches and check its Attribute Panel to know.

Following his usual practice, Lu Fan summoned all his Pet Dragons, including the two Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon Kings, having them all sit in a row.

Afterward, Lu Fan held up the peculiar Dragon Egg and informed all his ‘Dragon Children’ that a new Family member would be joining their big Family, asking if anyone had any objections.

[Huh? Xiao Ye, you have an objection? Fine, your rations will be reduced for a day.]

Xiao Ye: ‘Ang!!!?’ (•???•|||)

After ‘democratically’ soliciting opinions from all Pet Dragons and confirming none of them were reluctant to have a Hell Poison Dragon King join them, he began to cast the Dragon Taming Skill to hatch it.

For this Dragon Egg, Lu Fan cast the Dragon Taming Skill more than twenty times before finally succeeding.

As before, a dazzling light connected the Dragon Egg to Lu Fan’s chest. It was extremely bright.

A moment later, Lu Fan heard the sound of the eggshell cracking in the light, then the radiance gradually dissipated.

In Lu Fan’s Pet Slot, the last empty slot was filled, with the Hell Poison Dragon King now officially becoming one of his Pet Dragons.

When Lu Fan could finally see again, he looked at the eggshell in his hand.

At this point, the top of the eggshell had been bitten open, creating a small hole from which poisonous gas was spewing. This poison alone could probably cause a Fourth Profession Player to be afflicted and face mortal danger.

As the Master of this Hell Poison Dragon King, with 100% Debuff Resistance, Lu Fan naturally need not fear this poison.

However, seeing this poisonous gas, Lu Fan became somewhat worried. [Would something particularly ominous emerge among my Pet Dragons?]

Thinking of the specialization Skills of the Jin Family, which were related to the Abyss, and considering his new Pet Dragon was called Endless Abyss, Lu Fan felt nervous. He was truly worried something strange might emerge.

If it merely looked strange, that would be tolerable. He now hoped its personality would not be too peculiar.

After he had so many Pet Dragons, he learnt that each had very distinct personalities. There were clingy ones like Xiao Cui, jealous types like Xiao Ye, aloof ones like Xing Chen, and ‘attack dogs’ like Bao Bao who only knew how to ‘kill, kill, kill’.

He hoped this Poison Dragon King would be a loyal companion, rather than another rebellious member who might randomly try to poison him for fun. If that happens, how could he possibly endure it?

[Wait. But, where is the Dragon!?]

Lu Fan expectantly watched the Dragon Egg, hoping to see what kind of being would appear. However, after waiting a while, he found there was no movement from the Dragon Egg.

[Is it a dead egg!? No! Surely not!?] Lu Fan was bewildered and leaned closer to look through the small opening in the eggshell. He immediately saw that there was indeed a living creature inside the shell, and it was moving.

Especially when it noticed someone peering into the eggshell through the small opening. The little creature inside became more agitated, trying hard to shrink further inside.

[Huh? What is happening!?]

Lu Fan was even more confused. After thinking for a moment, he decided to personally break open the eggshell.

Although the shell of a hatched Dragon Egg remained tough, for someone with Lu Fan’s High Strength Attribute, breaking it apart was not difficult at all.

With two *cracks*, Lu Fan broke open most of the shell, revealing the true appearance of the little creature inside.

Not just Lu Fan, but Pet Dragons like Xiao Ye and Xiao Cui were also very curious about their Little Brother/Sister. They all brought their variously sized heads closer, forming a cute little circle and looking down at the being in the eggshell.

The small creature in the eggshell, possibly seeing so many people staring at it, became even more panicked. It hurriedly broke off a piece of eggshell to shield itself, squeaking like a mouse several times.

Lu Fan was completely stunned. [Erm… So, my new Pet Dragon has extreme social anxiety disorder!?]
