Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 412, Worried About Numbers? That Doesn’t Concern Me

After hearing the report, Ye Wuxian was stunned. “Impossible! The Monsters in this area have been cleared out by the Ancient Noble Families long ago. There hasn’t been any Monster Tides in decades. How can there be a Monster Tide here of all places?”

Lu Fan thought for a moment and said: “It’s probably not a Monster Tide. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be Monsters attacking from all directions around the Ye Family Residence. Most likely, someone is deliberately targeting the Ye Family. They are just employing Monsters to destroy the Ye Family!”

Ye Wuxian was sharp. As soon as Lu Fan said this, she immediately understood what was going on. “You believe all of this is the doing of the Huang Family or the Loong Family?”

“Must be,” Lu Fan said with certainty.

Almost as soon as Lu Fan finished speaking, another Ye Family guard came to report: “Young Mistress, Master Lu, people from the Loong Family and Huang Family have appeared behind the Monster Tide. Their exact numbers are unknown, but they must have some connection to the Monster Tide. The Monsters from this Monster Tide are clearly not attacking their people. Yet, they are clearly heading straight for our Ye Family Residence.”

Lu Fan smiled after hearing this and said to Ye Wuxian, “See? Told you the Monster Tide was caused by those two Families. Seems like giving them three days to provide the Ye Family with an answer has caused them to act out of desperation. Still, rather than obediently hand over their Family resources, they want to make one final attempt to destroy the Ye Family.”

Ye Wuxian gave Lu Fan a helpless look and asked. “How can you still smile? The enemy has come with such an overwhelming force, most likely prepared for a fight to the death. Although you basically killed a Fourth Profession Player from each Family, both the Huang Family and Loong Family are Ancient Noble Families. They still have their own Hidden Force. Setting aside Loong Xing, who you subdued and Loong Erhu, who you’ve killed, the Loong Family still has three Fourth Profession Players. The same goes for the Huang Family – they have one less Fourth Profession Player than the Loong Family, but they have the Huang Family Elder, who is at Level 99!”

“The Huang Family Elder’s Combat Power is above that of Huang Yutian. Counting him in, the two Families should still have six Fourth Profession Players in total. That’s not an easy number to deal with!”

After a pause, Ye Wuxian’s expression grew solemn, “Moreover, with their status as Ancient Noble Families, each of their Third Profession Players can’t be underestimated. Our Ye Family has declined, and many of our people have left, but we can only field about a hundred people for this battle.”

“On the other side, the Huang and Loong Families each have at least five hundred Third Profession Players!”

“In fact, Players below Level 50 are not qualified to live in the Ancient Noble Family Residence nor guard our various Map Resources. If even those between Level 50 and 60 are also brought over, each Ancient Noble Family would easily gain two thousand more people!”

“Since they’ve come prepared to surround and kill the Ye Family, I think the Huang and Loong Families must have made thorough preparations. Each Family must have deployed at least a thousand Players. By my estimates, that would be two thousand Players, plus six Fourth Profession Players, as well as this Monster Tide summoned through unknown means… I’m afraid the Ye Family’s Forces are greatly outmatched…”

Worry showed in Ye Wuxian’s eyes. Not just her – seeing the dark mass gathering, the Monster Tide, outside and the Players from the two Ancient Noble Families behind them, all the Ye Family members felt as if doomsday had arrived. Their hearts were now filled with despair.

However, there was one exception, Lu Fan.

Because for him, such numbers meant nothing.

Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons had too many AoE Skills.

Xiao Ye’s Great Cataclysm, Xing Chen’s Solitary Star, and Bao Bao’s Lightning Boundary, and even Ye Sha’s Shadow Purgatory – which of these was not an Area of Effect Skill that could instantly kill a massive number of enemies?

What use was it to have more people surrounding the Ye Family if he had his ‘Daughters’ and ‘Sons’?

Moreover, did the Loong Family and Huang Family really think Lu Fan’s side lacked manpower?

Previously, Lu Fan had commanded the entire Nine Hell Demons Army!

Even now, although Lu Fan did not have many Fallen Corpse Puppets under his command, each one was an Elite of the Elites. If they wanted to rely on human wave tactics on him, Lu Fan could not care less. In fact, he would welcome it.

“It’s fine, Senior Sister. You don’t need to worry.” Lu Fan smiled and lightly patted Ye Wuxian’s shoulder, showing no signs of concern at all. “Since those two Families have decided to stake everything on this battle, let us grant them their wish. Today we’ll completely raze them to the ground. That way, in the future, no one will dare bully the Ye Family again.”

“Easier said than done.” Ye Wuxian sighed. “I know you’re very strong, but if the two Ancient Noble Families are determined to join Forces to destroy the Ye Family today, you and I are truly in danger. After all, enough ants can kill an elephant with numbers, you…”

“Senior Sister, that’s where you’re wrong,” Lu Fan smiled and said. “They say enough ants can kill an elephant, but have you ever seen a Level 100 Epic Grade Boss being killed by a group of Level 5 Grey Tail Foxes? In the end, ants are just ants. No matter how many there are, they can’t kill this elephant.”

“Moreover,” Lu Fan smiled mysteriously, “if the Huang and Loong Families want to rely on numbers to overwhelm the Ye Family, they’ve miscalculated. We aren’t just one elephant, but many elephants!”

Seeing Lu Fan so confident, Ye Wuxian frowned in thought, then recalled the various Skills Lu Fan had demonstrated in front of her.

Her brow gradually smoothened out as she thought of a possibility.

“You wouldn’t happen to have many helpers, would you?” Ye Wuxian asked probingly, a hint of cunningness flashing in her eyes.

Lu Fan nodded and smiled. “Not just many, but each of them is very strong. If those two Families want to clash with me, then let’s clash. Their fate will be worse than the Extremistis Country’s!”

Hearing Lu Fan say this, Ye Wuxian completely relaxed.

She returned to normal, and smiled at her previous unnecessary worry, saying. “Seems like I was overreacting. I guess this is really not a problem for you. You truly always manage to surprise me.”

Just as Lu Fan was about to speak, suddenly, the Ye Family Residence shook violently, as if an earthquake had occurred. Clearly, the Protective Barrier outside was under attack.

Lu Fan looked up and saw a giant Talisman floating above the Protective Barrier.

This Talisman looked as if it was drawn with lightning, forming complex and difficult to understand runes.

It floated in mid-air, seeming to stir up the Lightning Element in Heaven and Earth. With it, lightning continuously brewed in the pitch-black sky above, connecting with this Talisman.

Just now, this Talisman had shown its power, calling down a lightning bolt to strike the Protective Barrier.

The Ye Family Residence’s Protective Barrier was sturdy – even though the enemy’s Skill was powerful. At the very least, it would not be easily broken in a short period of time.

However, if they allowed the enemy to continue attacking, this Protective Barrier definitely would not last long.

“It’s the Huang Family Elder!” Ye Wuxian recognized this Talisman, her eyes narrowing. “Seems like the Huang Family truly intends to destroy the Ye Family tonight. Even the Huang Family Elder has personally appeared.”
