World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

”An egg of a Magical Beast...” Evan muttered as he looked at the football-sized egg before him with a curious look.

When he took a closer look at it, he saw that many strange Runes were engraved on the crystal-white eggshell.

Not only that, because of his high Mana affinity, Evan could feel that the egg was constantly absorbing the surrounding Mana.

”Just what kind of Magical Beast will come from this egg that even the system doesn’t know what it came from?”

It was the first time Evan had come across something that even the system didn’t know anything about.

Thinking for a moment, he once again looked at the small amount of information that his status window was showing.

---) Egg of ???: An egg of an unknown Magical Beast that will hatch soon. You can make this beast your pet by forming a Blood Pact with it.

===

”Blood Pact, huh...” Evan knew about the Blood Pact, as his grandfather had taught him about it.

”Well, this egg doesn’t seem like it comes from a normal Magical Beast, so there is no reason for me not to make a Blood Pact with it,” He muttered and made a cut on his palm using Black Star.

Using the blood that flowed out of his palm, Evan drew a small magic circle on the ground.

”Good thing Grandpa taught me Blood Pact, saying I could use it to recruit Magical Beasts for his organization...” He chuckled to himself and, in just a minute, completed the magic circle.

He placed the egg on the magic circle and imbued the circle with his Mana.

As the magic circle, which was drawn using his blood, was injected with his Mana, it began to glow and covered the entire egg.

Soon, a connection began to form between Evan and the egg, and the blood that he had used to draw the magic circle was absorbed by it.

Around one minute later, the magic circle disappeared from the ground, and everything returned to normal.

Evan felt the connection between himself and the egg and nodded in satisfaction.

”I wonder when it will hatch...”

His status window was showing that the egg would hatch soon, but there was no specific time frame.

Putting the matter of the egg aside for now, Evan was about to look at the last shard of the Entrance Authority Token when suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something from the corner of his eye, and his heart skipped a beat.

”That...”

He hurriedly walked over to the dead body of the Lizardman King and saw a green orb lying beside it.

”An Epic Grade Orb...”

A look of joy appeared on Evan’s face, and he immediately picked it up.

Taking a deep breath, he did not waste any time and immediately crushed the orb.

As the orb shattered, a purple light enveloped the entire throne room, forcing Evan to close his eyes for a second.

When the light faded, Evan felt something appear in his hand, and he quickly looked at it.

”A crossbow...” Evan raised an eyebrow when he saw a purple-colored crossbow with many Runes engraved on it lying in his hand.

As he focused on it, its details appeared before his eyes.

---) Arch Eagle Crossbow (Epic Grade): A crossbow made by a talented blacksmith using some rare metals and the bones of an Arch Eagle. The user can imbue their Mana into the crossbow to create Mana Bolts. Each Mana Bolt fired from the Arch Eagle Crossbow carries the Piercing and Explosion effects. The power of the Mana Bolts depends on how much Mana is used to create them and the Magic stat of the user. While holding the crossbow, the user can use the Eagle’s Eye and Absolute Bolt Skills. Increases the user’s Agility by 50 points.

---) Eagle’s Eye: Increases the user’s eyesight by 20×, allowing them to see distant targets more clearly.

---) Absolute Bolt: Upon usage, the user can grant their fired bolt the effect of Absolute Hit. Under the effect of Absolute Hit, the power of the Mana Bolt is increased by two times, and the bolt will definitely hit the target. Can be used three times a day.

Evan read the details of his first Epic Grade treasure and sucked in a breath of cold air.

”Worthy of an Epic Grade treasure. I can’t even compare my Rare Grade treasures with it,” He muttered under his breath, feeling that the Rare Grade artifacts like the Thunder Ring and others on him were simply trash compared to it.

”It’s just the difference of one grade, but the power of a Rare Grade and Epic Grade treasure simply can’t be compared.”

Holding the crossbow, Evan looked around him and used the Eagle’s Eye skill.

Suddenly, his vision became extremely clear, and he could see everything clearly within the room.

Because of his high stat points, Evan could already see clearly up to 500 meters away from him.

But now, with the help of Eagle’s Eye, he estimated that he could easily see up to ten kilometers without any problems.

Thinking about something, Evan aimed the crossbow at the wall of the throne room and imbued his Mana into it.

When his Mana entered the crossbow, a light-blue bolt formed in it, and the more Mana Evan imbued into it, the darker it became.

Evan imbued 10% of his Mana to create a Mana Bolt and shot it toward the wall of the throne room.

The bolt shot toward the wall with lightning speed, and even before Evan could blink, the bolt hit the wall, and because of the Piercing effect, its tip easily pierced the wall.

Not even a split second later, the Explosion effect of the bolt triggered, and the next instant—

Boom!

With a loud bang, the bolt exploded, and a large hole appeared in the wall.

Evan looked at everything without blinking, and seeing the hole in the wall, he couldn’t help but shudder slightly.

”The walls of this room are so hard, and a bolt that I made using only ten percent of my Mana made a hole in them...” He muttered to himself and couldn’t help but think about what would happen if the bolt had struck a human body instead of a wall.

Not only that, there was also the Absolute Bolt skill that increased the power of the Mana Bolt by two times.

If he used it as well...

”I think I would directly blow away my target,” Evan said with gleaming eyes and suddenly thought of something.

’I just used pure Mana to create the bolt. Can I create a bolt by using my Wind Monarch skill?’ As he thought of this, he immediately gave it a try.

He used his Wind Monarch skill to imbue his Mana into the surrounding wind.

Then, he controlled the Mana-filled wind and imbued it into the Arch Eagle Crossbow.

This time, instead of a light-blue bolt, a light-green bolt was formed in the crossbow.

When Evan saw this, a smile appeared on his face, and just like last time, he used 10% of his Mana to create a Wind Bolt.

”Let’s see how powerful this Wind Bolt is compared to a normal Mana Bolt,” He said to himself and shot the Wind Bolt at the wall of the throne room.

The bolt was even faster than the previous one and hit the wall at lightning speed.

But compared to before, Evan noticed that the Piercing effect was a bit weaker, and the bolt didn’t go deep into the wall.

Just then, the Explosion effect activated.

BOOOMMM!

Evan’s ears buzzed because the explosion was at least two times stronger than the previous one.

The entire wall shook under the explosion, and when the dust settled, Evan was stunned to see a hole that was three times the size of the previous one in the wall.

Evan looked at the hole in a daze before shifting his attention to the crossbow in his hand.

”Are all the Epic Grade treasures so powerful?” He couldn’t help but mutter, feeling that this crossbow was too strong.

But soon, he stopped thinking about it.

If it was his enemy who was using this crossbow, he would definitely question if that person was using a higher-grade artifact disguised as an Epic Grade.

But since it was his own artifact and he was the one benefiting from it, it was completely fine.

There was no need to make a fuss about it.

After finally calming down his emotions, Evan put away the crossbow, and his eyes fell on his status window, looking at the second reward he got for clearing the dungeon.

”The last shard of the Entrance Authority Token...” He muttered, and his eyes gleamed. ”Let me see what this thing is.”
