World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Evan went to the storage room with Alfred.

Both Venisa and Lia followed them as well, as they were also curious to see what Evan wanted to do with the old armor.

Although Venisa and Alfred had seen the names of the rewards Evan received after conquering the dungeon, they did not know the details of those rewards.

After arriving at the storage room, Alfred took out several pieces of armor.

Most of them were ordinary pieces of armor that Evan had used while training his swordsmanship with Alfred in the past, while some were pieces of armor that Alfred had casually collected over the years.

Evan looked at them and found that there were around ten pieces of armor in total.

Three of them were Common-grade armor, while one was even of Uncommon grade.

The remaining six pieces were ordinary armor made from the materials of Magical Beasts.

Alfred placed all the armor in front of Evan and looked at him curiously, wanting to know what he planned to do with them.

In front of his grandparents and Lia, Evan took out his Wolf Robe from his Storage Ring.

Currently, he was wearing normal clothes since he wasn’t inside the Dark Forest.

Evan placed the Wolf Robe on the ground before picking up one of the ordinary pieces of armor.

He placed the armor on top of the Wolf Robe.

Then, right in front of Alfred, Venisa, and Lia, the wolf design on the robe suddenly opened its mouth wide.

The armor placed above the Wolf Robe instantly turned into a black liquid and was devoured by the wolf.

However, after devouring the armor, there wasn’t any visible change in the Wolf Robe.

Alfred and Venisa raised their eyebrows when they saw this and looked at Evan, waiting for him to explain what had just happened.

Evan smiled when he saw their curious expressions and told them about the Devourer Stone that he had received as a reward after conquering the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon.

After hearing his explanation, Alfred and Venisa looked toward the Wolf Robe in surprise.

”You mean that just by using that stone, you have basically obtained a Growth-Type Artifact?” Alfred asked.

Evan nodded and without saying anything else, he picked up the remaining pieces of armor and continued feeding them to the Wolf Robe.

One by one, Evan placed the ordinary pieces of armor on top of the robe.

The wolf design opened its mouth and devoured each piece of armor.

Once all the ordinary armor was gone, he began feeding the Wolf Robe the Common-grade armor.

However, even after devouring all three Common-grade pieces of armor, there was still no major change in the Wolf Robe.

Although its defense had increased quite a bit compared to before, it still hadn’t evolved from Uncommon grade to Rare grade.

Evan looked at the remaining Uncommon-grade armor.

”I hope it evolves to Rare grade after devouring this Uncommon-grade armor.”

Saying this, Evan placed the Uncommon-grade armor on top of the Wolf Robe.

Just like before, the wolf design opened its mouth wide.

The armor melted into a black liquid and was completely devoured.

However, just like before, even after devouring the Uncommon-grade armor, nothing happened.

Evan frowned slightly and was about to ask his grandparents if they had any more spare armor when suddenly—

Buzz!

The Wolf Robe suddenly started shining with a golden light.

Evan was stunned and quickly focused his attention on it.

The Wolf Robe melted and turned into a mass of black liquid.

At the same time, Mana from the surrounding area started flowing toward the black liquid.

Alfred and Venisa watched everything with interest before Venisa finally spoke.

”It seems it’s really evolving into Rare-grade armor.”

The process continued for around thirty seconds before the surrounding Mana finally stopped flowing toward the Wolf Robe.

The black liquid on the ground began to move once again and slowly took the shape of a robe.

After a few moments, the golden light surrounding it gradually faded away, and a new Wolf Robe appeared in front of Evan.

Evan immediately picked it up.

There weren’t many changes in its appearance.

However, the robe now looked smoother and more refined than before. The wolf design on it had also changed, with a thin golden outline now surrounding it.

However, what Evan cared about most wasn’t its appearance but its effects so he immediately looked at its details.

====

--) Devourer Wolf Robe (Rare Grade): A robe made from the leather of an Alpha Wolf. It possesses strong defensive abilities. While wearing this robe, the user gains 10% resistance against both physical and magical attacks. The Devourer Wolf Robe can repair its own damage using Mana.

(Devourer Wolf Robe can evolve by devouring treasures of the same type.)

====

The defense of the Wolf Robe had increased greatly.

Moreover, it had gained an additional 10% resistance against both physical and magical attacks.

At the same time, if the Wolf Robe was damaged in the future, Evan would be able to repair it simply by using Mana.

”For Rare-grade armor, its defense and effects are quite good.”

Alfred also looked at the Wolf Robe’s details before speaking.

Evan nodded in satisfaction and placed the Devourer Wolf Robe back inside his Storage Ring.

After evolving the Wolf Robe, Evan returned to his room and started resting.

Most of his injuries had already healed because of the potion Venisa had given him the previous day but he still hadn’t returned to his peak condition.

****

”I have to leave tomorrow, and I’m still not fully healed. Do you really want to spar with me even after knowing all this?”

Evan tried to ask in a calm voice.

However, anyone could notice that his voice was trembling slightly.

After all, he already knew that no matter what he said, Alfred wouldn’t let him off this time.

”Don’t worry. It’s just a normal spar. I won’t use any abilities.” Alfred smiled as he spoke.

”I just want to see how much stronger you have become after evolving to Rank One.”

Evan’s mouth twitched when he saw the smile on Alfred’s face, and he sighed inwardly.

’Well, it’s just a little beating. It’s not like I haven’t been beaten before...’ He thought before his expression turned serious.

”Are you ready?” Alfred asked when he saw Evan’s serious expression.

Evan simply nodded and prepared himself to receive good beating.

Not long after, painful screams started echoing from the training ground.

Lia and Venisa, who were inside the house, could clearly hear the screams of a certain individual.

When Venisa heard Evan’s screams, she simply shook her head and didn’t even bother going to check on him.

After all, it was the usual routine between the two of them.

Moreover, she knew that Alfred was mostly sparring with Evan to check his current abilities and make sure that he was capable of safely traveling alone.

Thirty minutes later, Evan’s screams finally stopped.

Inside the training room, a certain individual lay on the ground while breathing heavily.

His right eye was swollen and black, as if someone had punched him directly in the face.

There were several other injuries on his body as well, but none of them were serious.

With his current Health stat, he would return to normal condition in less than half an hour.

Alfred stood beside Evan with a satisfied smile on his face and waited for him to recover.

After a few minutes, when Evan had recovered somewhat, he finally sat up and sighed.

”Aren’t you afraid that once you grow old, I will throw you out of the house if you continue to beat me like this?”

Alfred chuckled at Evan’s words and kicked him in the back.

”You first have to become stronger than me to do that.” Alfred snorted.

”Believe it or not, this old man once even dared to point his finger at the Emperor and greet his eighteen generations in such beautiful language that he nearly died from a heart attack.”

Evan’s mouth twitched at Alfred’s words and he rolled his eyes at his grandfather’s bragging.

Seeing that Evan didn’t believe him, Alfred simply shook his head and didn’t say anything.

Evan remained silent for a moment before finally speaking.

”What was the real reason for creating the academy, Grandpa?”

Hearing his question, Alfred wasn’t surprised, as if he had already expected Evan to ask something like this.

He remained silent for a moment before speaking.

”I think you already have a good idea about why the academy was truly created, don’t you?”

Evan smiled slightly when he heard him. ”I do have a guess, but I’m not completely sure.”

Alfred chuckled and looked at him.

”Since you’re not sure, then go to the academy and confirm it yourself. This old man isn’t going to tell anything to an ungrateful person like you who is already thinking about kicking me out of the house.”

Evan rolled his eyes at Alfred’s words and stood up, intending to leave.

However, seeing Evan walking away, Alfred spoke again.

”After dropping Lia off at Sky Pearl City, you should travel toward the Capital through the Dream Forest.”

Evan paused and looked back at him.

Alfred walked over to him and patted his shoulder.

”Going through the Dream Forest will help you improve yourself further. It will also take you less time to reach the Capital.”

After saying this, Alfred turned around and left the training ground.

Evan stood inside the training ground for a few moments.

Then, he took a deep breath and left as well.
