World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Once Evan knew Lia wasn’t deeply intimidated by Henry anymore, he thought about giving him back to Glen for further investigation.

After all, even though he had a letter written by Max, it would still be too much for him to kill Henry after saying earlier that he wouldn’t break any rules.

Just then, he remembered that his main purpose when he beat Henry earlier was to make him admit that he was working with the slave traders.

But in order to make Lia come out of her shadow, he had completely forgotten about it.

’If I hand over Henry to Glen now, wouldn’t it look like I was just using that letter to beat this guy to vent out my frustration?’

As he thought of this, Evan grabbed Henry by the hair and raised his bloodied face.

”So, are you going to admit that you work with the slave traders or not?”

Henry looked at him with blurred vision and spoke in a faint voice.

”It’s... It’s a misunderstanding. I really have no clue what you are talking about.”

A cold gleam flashed in Evan’s eyes, and he didn’t bother to argue with Henry. He leaned forward slightly and spoke in a low voice.

”You know, even if I kill you right here, no one is going to say anything...”

As he spoke, the wind in the guard office moved and a wind bullet appeared right in front of Henry’s eyes.

”You have five seconds to confess, or you can say goodbye to your dear life.”

The wind bullet slowly began to rotate right in front of his eye, making Henry feel a sharp pain in his eye.

”You...” Henry’s eyes widened in shock, and seeing the rapidly rotating wind bullet right in front of his eye, he felt a chill run down his spine.

”Three seconds,” Evan spoke in a cold voice.

”Commander, please help me! It’s his scheme! I am really innocent!”

Glen heard Henry’s desperate shout, but he did not come forward to help him.

After seeing everything that happened earlier, he was already sure that whatever Evan had said about Henry working with slave traders was true.

Especially after seeing Lia’s reaction to him. Even he could see that the little girl was deeply afraid of Henry.

Only after Evan talked to her did the fear in her eyes subside a bit.

Seeing Evan’s actions to help her overcome her fear, a look of appreciation couldn’t help but appear in his eyes.

’It’s a pity he isn’t part of the guard team or it would have been great,’ He thought before shaking his head, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes as he stared at Henry.

’It seems I will have to work overtime in the upcoming days to clean up a lot of trash.’

Seeing that Glen wasn’t responding to his shouts, Henry truly panicked.

By this time, the five seconds Evan had given him had also passed.

”Alright, since you don’t want to speak, then there is no need for you to live anymore,” Evan said, and the wind bullet shot toward Henry’s eye.

”It was me! I was the one who sold her to the slave traders!”

Feeling the threat of death, Henry couldn’t take it anymore and finally shouted.

Bang!

The wind bullet exploded right after reaching in front of Henry’s face, turning into small, sharp blades that stung his face and made him scream in pain.

Evan didn’t bother with him anymore and simply stood up, grabbing Lia’s hand.

”Let’s go.”

He stopped using the Thunder Field skill of the ring and walked over to Glen.

”I am sorry if I have overstepped my bounds earlier,” He said to Glen and bowed slightly.

Glen looked at Lia beside Evan and patted Evan’s shoulder.

”Don’t worry. You actually handled it very well,” He said, and his eyes turned serious. ”You don’t have to worry about Henry. I can assure you that he and everyone else involved in this matter won’t be able to get away.”

Evan nodded before speaking in a faint voice.

”Commander Glen, I hope your investigation won’t cause any trouble for Lia and her family.”

Glen immediately understood what Evan was saying.

With Henry being only an unranked Evolver, it was very likely that he was not the main culprit working with the slave traders, but that there were some other people above him.

Without their help, it would have been impossible for him to keep such a matter hidden for so long. As more and more children disappeared, it would eventually attract the attention of higher-ranking people.

But who knew how long Henry had been selling children to slave traders? Yet this matter hadn’t blown up yet, making it very likely that some people were keeping it under control.

If those people tried to act against Lia and her family, it would be difficult for them to do anything.

”Don’t worry. I will make sure nothing happens to them,” Glen spoke in a serious voice.

Only then did Evan nod.

”Since that’s the case, I won’t disturb your work any further.”

As he spoke, he turned around to leave.

Elena, who had been standing at the side, also walked over to him.

”You are quite good to her, aren’t you?” Elena spoke as she looked at Lia.

Evan glanced at Lia’s lively face and patted her head.

In fact, the reason he went through all that trouble was because he somehow saw his own shadow in her.

He had also been very afraid of those slave traders when he was captured by them.

Only when Alfred saved him and showed him just how weak they were was he able to overcome that fear in his heart.

It was also from that point that he wanted to become stronger...Strong enough that he wouldn’t have to feel fear like that again.

’I hope she will also turn this incident into motivation and become an excellent Evolver in the future...’ He thought inwardly before smiling at Lia.

”Let’s go... It’s time to go to your home.”
