Warhammer Divine Throne

For about a minute, Mogiana lay on the tree root, then she used the parasitic vine on the tree to stand up, leaning against the big tree, she struggled to move. Her long dress was already in tatters, and her outer wool coat was riddled with holes. Her waist kept bleeding. Using the tree for support, she barely moved a few steps before all her energy was completely exhausted, her legs went weak, and she almost fell.

Clutching the parasitic vine tightly with both hands, Mogiana barely leaned against the big tree. The wound on her waist kept seeping blood, and the Vampire’s power of curse was seeping into her body along the wound. If she were at her full strength, she could expel these curses, but now she could only endure.

”Ugh~” Blood streamed down from the wound on her waist, soaking her clothes and staining her stockings red. Mogiana knew she was facing a painful choice.

Should she risk being discovered and seek rescue or find a place to hide and wait for help?

No matter the choice, Mogiana knew it was fraught with danger. With her constant blood loss and increasing weakness, she absolutely could not last much longer.

She had only been transported a little over a thousand distances, leaving her with very little time to choose. Mogiana leaned against the tree, breathing softly, feeling her body sliding down, her vision gradually blurring.

No, hiding would only mean death! The Lake Witch lightly bit the tip of her tongue, the faint pain reviving her spirit slightly, and Mogiana clung to the parasitic vine, forcing herself to take steps.

The day broke. As the pure morning light penetrated the leaves into the forest, only specks of light remained. Within the forest, the morning mist was thick, and Mogiana’s stunningly beautiful face showed anxiety. Her condition was dire, and the sunlight made her position more likely to be exposed. Lesser Vampire Creatures or Vampires might fear sunlight because they fear Sun God Petra, but High-Tier Vampires were not so afraid of sunlight. Unfortunately, Manfred was a High-Tier Vampire, once a Vampire leader.

Stepping forward with difficulty, her sour, limp legs finally gave up all strength, and dew soaked Mogiana’s long dress, making her steps even heavier.

”Rustle~ rustle~” A sound came from ahead, something passing through the bushes!

Who is it?

There’s no time to consider! Mogiana threw herself directly, her knees gave way, and she collapsed down along the slope at the tree root.

What came into view was the figure of a young Holy Grail Knight, clad in exquisite silver full plate armor, holding a warhammer, passing through the bushes. His black hair, blue eyes, and the open-winged Holy Grail Knight Badge on his chest indicated his identity.

”Laine...?”

Mogiana’s voice was as thin as a mosquito, the Lake God Witch let out a breath, and then collapsed headfirst from mid-air.

”Mogiana!” Laine rushed over immediately, caught the falling Lake God Witch, held her in his arms, and seeing Mogiana’s dire state, quickly asked: ”What’s happened? How did you end up like this?”

”Laine... How did you... find me?” Mogiana weakly replied, the Lake God Witch’s jade-green eyes showing regret and relief.

”I saw you heading alone to negotiate with the tree spirit, worried about your safety, I followed. Then I met the wounded Hilphain on the way, it informed me that you were in danger! Then I felt my seal opened, so I hurried here overnight.” Laine held Mogiana up, the Divine Chosen Champion’s face was filled with urgency: ”You’re seriously injured! I’ve lost sense of magic power from you! What in the world happened?”

”Tree spirit... betrayed me, Vampire... wants to sacrifice me to... Nagash.” Mogiana weakly spoke, Laine immediately took out the precious elven potion brought by the wood elf, applied it to the Lake God Witch’s wounded waist, stopping the bleeding first.

”Vampires... are coming soon... Laine, be careful...” After using her last bit of strength to utter these words, Mogiana passed out.

”Her Highness Mogiana!” Laine gently shook the Lake God Witch’s frail body, confirming she was still alive, then placed her behind the big tree. The Divine Chosen Champion frowned tightly: ”Vampires?”

Laine immediately sensed an evil force approaching, so he stepped out from behind the tree. After merely taking two steps, Manfred’s silhouette appeared in the distance a hundred meters away, the Vampire Count holding a hooked scythe in one hand and Blade of Profanity in the other. His black and red cursed armor was covered with human heads, the giant spikes behind him adorned with countless skulls. Surprised to see a Holy Grail Knight here, he hesitated for a moment.

The cunning Vampire Count quickly thought of a Holy Grail Knight coming to rescue Mogiana, but seeing Laine so young and calm, Manfred was unsure. He figured Mogiana was severely injured, powerless, and struggling to act. How could she send out a distress signal? Even if she had a bit of magic left, it would have been used for escape, there’s no way a Holy Grail Knight could appear here so fast.

Thus, he probed: ”It’s quite an unfortunate day, finding a Holy Grail Knight in the forest. You’re lucky, Holy Grail Knight, I’m not your enemy, merely passing through. Out of respect for your Goddess, I have no intention to fight you.”

The morning light shone on Laine’s face, which remained very calm. In his heart, he secretly knew this Vampire Count was here chasing Mogiana, but he didn’t know Mogiana was nearby.
