Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 505: Chapter 217, Windmills and Cookies

PS. Here I want to thank again the gentleman WV for his generosity, I plan to offer a triple update as a gesture of gratitude. Please give me some time, writing about Warhammer is not easy, and I am a person who likes to deliberate and polish every word, so writing is slow. I ask for your understanding.

The tall windmill was spinning its massive blades, and in front of it, the Divine Chosen Champion and the Duke’s daughter embraced each other.

Today, Surya was dressed in an ivory Marquis’s noble gown, with golden epaulets and tassels draped over her shoulders. The buttons on her chest were stretched taut, and her waist-length golden curls were styled with numerous spirals at the ends, held in place by a black headband, lending her a heroic air. A slight blush adorned her oval face, while her sea-blue eyes sparkled with light.

It was quite rare to see the female knight in a blue pleated mini skirt, which was very short, reaching only to mid-thigh. Her slender and long legs were wrapped in black, semi-translucent silk stockings, soft and smooth, and on her feet were blue stiletto heels. The female knight was quite tall, nearly 1.75 meters, yet she had to stand on her tiptoes slightly in front of the 1.85-meter Laine.

”It’s really great that you’re alright!” Surya reached out to touch Laine’s face, a genuine smile blooming on her own: ”After I won the knight tournament, I wanted to visit you, but Her Highness Mogiana refused, saying you needed rest... Are you better now?”

”I’m much better.” Laine hugged the female knight again, savoring the moment, before letting go. Surya willingly took Laine’s hand, and under the spring sun, they exchanged smiles.

”Your hands are still a bit cold~” The female knight noted the temperature of Laine’s hand, speaking tenderly: ”Laine, your injury hasn’t fully healed; you’re just out for a walk, aren’t you?”

”If I don’t get out for a walk soon, I feel like I might rust.” Laine chuckled bitterly, pulling the female knight to sit on a bench in front of the windmill: ”Actually, there’s not much to do inside the Holy Grail Cathedral, apart from lying in bed, talking with Amelia, and reading some books about the glorious stories of the Holy Grail Knights. In the evenings, after Amelia rests, Her Highness Mogiana discusses recent political affairs with me. I’m really quite free.”

”Now, you’re also part of those glorious stories.” Surya held Laine’s hand, gazing at him tenderly: ”Just like those legendary myths, the tales of the Holy Grail Knights will be passed down forever, and now, before me, is a living legend.”

”A living legend, huh?” Hearing this, Laine felt little emotional fluctuation. Fighting against Chaos was not for fame but for the survival of humanity itself.

The Divine Chosen Champion didn’t want to think too much about it. He noticed a small bag next to the female knight: ”What’s this?”

”Ah~ this, these are cookies!” Surya, seeing Laine notice the small bag beside her, blushed slightly. She picked up the bag and held it out to Laine: ”I made them myself. Try some?”

”This... isn’t it a bit improper?” Laine looked at the contents of the bag, which were small, bear-shaped cookies.

”They were made for you to eat, so try them. Don’t worry, I made them myself, and there’s no poison in them.” The female knight held his hand, a smile that could melt snow and ice on her face.

”Can this windmill also make cookies?” Laine asked in confusion, glancing at the huge blades of the windmill behind him.

”No, I made them at the mansion, which has a kitchen, though it’s rarely used.”

”Such a wonderful aroma—sugar, honey, wheat, milk, butter... did you add vanilla too?” Laine took one and popped it into his mouth, the sweetness and softness making him nod in approval.

”Fantastic, I knew you could taste it!” Surya clasped her hands together, her face full of delight: ”This is a new cookie recipe I’ve been working on, how is it?”

”Very delicious, my lady knight. Why don’t you try some of your own creation?”

”Mm!”

The two of them finished the small number of cookies in the bag, taking turns with each bite.

A gentle breeze swept by, causing the lush sea of flowers to rustle invitingly. Both the Divine Chosen Champion and the Duke’s daughter closed their eyes, savoring the rare leisurely moment.

The sea of spring flowers, like poetry and painting.

Surya gently rested her delicate face on Laine’s shoulder. She seemed to have been considering this for a long time, then softly spoke into Laine’s ear: ”Laine, sometimes you push yourself too hard.”

”Why do you say that?” Laine’s hand stroked the cascade of golden hair on the female knight’s back as he wrapped his arm around her waist.

”You must have seen how heavy the casualties were with the knights, and so many of the Holy Grail Knights were injured, witnessing the Knight Army battling against the Chaos Army tirelessly, so you decided to challenge the Great Demon one-on-one, right?” Surya placed her little hand on Laine’s chest, the spot pierced by the Great Nurgle Demon’s tongue.

Laine remained silent.

”Laine, you’re forcing yourself too much. The Knight Army had already arrived, and my father was here on his Pegasus too. You don’t need to rush into a conclusion with the Great Nurgle Demon. Fighting against evil isn’t your responsibility alone. I understand that you want to avoid excessive casualties, but at what cost to yourself? How could those who love and care for you not be worried?” The female knight gently caressed Laine’s face: ”Too heavy a burden can crush a person.”
