Warhammer Divine Throne

PS: Brothers, check who conferred the protagonist as a baron and who performed the sword-holding ceremony. It was the King. Under such circumstances, theoretically, the King can command the protagonist (just theoretically).

PS2: The multiple female lead tone of this book was something I decided on long ago. There’s no need to ask about the harem issue. There are many books on Qidian, and everyone will surely find something they like.

”La... Lady?” Count Bonova almost called out instinctively.

Although her face was obscured by mist, as a believer of the Lady, Count Bonova could not fail to recognize the object of his faith since he was a child.

For the knights of the Knight Kingdom, the belief in the Lake Fairy is carved into their bones and branded deep within their souls.

”I disagree!” The Lake Fairy emerged from behind the castle with a dazzling light. Her cold and calm gaze made the King’s Envoy instinctively kneel on both knees, his hands trembling uncontrollably, speaking with stammering words: ”My... my, La, Lady?”

”I don’t agree with either of these King’s Orders.” The Lake Fairy’s cold words swept like a biting cold wind through Bonova’s heart. She stretched out her hand, and the King’s Orders lying on the ground flew into her hand: ”Laine is my champion. Did Richard ever pray to me? Did he seek my opinion?”

Before everyone’s eyes, the King’s Orders turned to dust in the Lake Fairy’s hand.

The King’s Envoy turned pale, kneeling there, his mouth agape for a long time, unable to utter a word.

”Take your things and go back, Bonova. I need you to tell Richard that everything Laine does is with my direct permission.” The Lake Fairy’s tone was icy as she spoke faintly to the King’s Envoy: ”Or does Richard think I’m wrong?”

”No! No! His Majesty has no such intention!” The King’s Envoy was drenched in sweat, trembling in fear, and just a moment ago, he seemed to glimpse the anger hidden in the Lady’s eyes.

In this country, the King cannot deny the Lake Fairy; otherwise, it would be denying his legal authority and rule.

Laine was conferred as baron by Richard himself and performed the sword-holding ceremony, so theoretically, Laine is under the King’s direct jurisdiction. However, he is also a subordinate of the Duke of Winford, theoretically under Francois’ control as well.

But Laine’s most important identity is that of the Lake Fairy’s Divine Chosen Champion, which is why the Lake Fairy is upset.

In the brief contact, Francois immediately grasped the situation, understanding everything needs to be discussed with Laine, but Richard never understood. He always believed Laine was his vassal who must obey any order, as matters of the gods are for the gods, and matters of mortals are for mortals.

The atmosphere inside the hall was suffocating, with the King’s Envoy cowering, pale as paper, drenched in sweat as if a dog with its spine broken, not daring to say anything aside from prostrating on the floor.

”Alright, you may go back. Tell Richard that he needn’t concern himself with Laine’s affairs. Doing his duty as King is the best reward for me.” The anger in her eyes flashed and was gone, and the Lake Fairy reverted to her calm and collected demeanor, motioning for Count Bonova to leave.

The once arrogant King’s Envoy exited like a beaten dog, barely able to walk straight, almost like a drunk stumbling towards the horses, relying on his escort to mount. The Count was scared out of his wits, attempting to speak but finding his voice barely a whisper, exhausted: ”Go... let’s go quickly.”

All knights longed to see the Lady, but Count Bonova could never have imagined that his first sight of the Lady would be under such circumstances. Thinking of the Lake Fairy’s indifferent attitude made the King’s Envoy feel like he was on the gallows, a rope tightening around his neck, inch by inch, slowly closing in on death.

Escape! Quickly escape! I never want to return to this place in my life!

Quickly escape!

The sturdy war horses carried the King’s Envoy and his retinue away into the dusk.

An hour later, at Baron Gene’s Domain, the second floor of the Lake Fairy Tower.

In the beautifully and elegantly styled interior, the Lake Fairy sat grandly in the main seat, with the Holy Grail, the lifelong pursuit of countless knights, placed beside her. A long skirt adorned with diamonds and gold in the design of an iris displayed the Goddess’s elegance to those present.

In the prayer room were only Laine and Surya. The appearance of the Goddess left Laine’s subordinates astonished, and they immediately knelt in submission. The Lake Fairy routinely encouraged them with a few words, then motioned for Laine and the duke’s daughter to join her.

The duke’s daughter was somewhat apprehensive. She wanted to kneel, but the Lake Fairy smiled and shook her head, indicating: ”It’s alright, Surya, have a seat.”

”My Lady, I...” The female knight remained uneasy.

”Sit down, between Laine and me, there should not be such constraints. We are like friends, enjoying tea and snacks, try them; I made these myself.” The Lake Fairy’s bright smile illuminated the interior, as she personally served a plate of pastries and high elf honey tea.

”Sit down, Surya, it’s alright,” Laine also held the female knight’s hand, the Divine Chosen Champion spoke warmly.

Only then did Surya feel slightly reassured. The female knight clutched Laine’s hand tightly, and the two of them took seats on one side of the table.
