Warhammer Divine Throne

”For one Dwarf cannon, we will have four to five of our comrades responsible for the entire process from loading to firing. We can fire a shot in five minutes,” Dwarf Engineer Dugen the Ironman continued, ”Meanwhile, Dwarfs are also warriors. If any enemy approaches, we can also pick up our weapons to fight, but my Baron, I must emphasize that letting us fire cannons is far stronger than using weapons in combat.”

”Rest assured, Brittania has the most powerful knights in the Old World, your flanks will be protected.” Laine nodded with satisfaction, Brittania knights and Dwarf artillery, his army’s future combat power will not be underestimated.

”Speaking of which, what is this?” Female sorcerer Teresa walked to the special cannon behind the four heavy cannons, and asked with great interest.

”This is the Organ Cannon, miss,” the Dwarf engineer said of his proud creation and laughed heartily, ”This is my precious baby.”

”Organ Cannon?” Laine also approached the Organ Cannon. He had to admit that the four cannon barrels arranged side by side indeed gave a bit of an organ illusion.

”The Organ Cannon is composed of four smaller cannon barrels,” Dugen walked in front of the Organ Cannon and started to explain its special features, ”Compared to the heavy cannon, the range of the Organ Cannon is shorter, the power is less, and the accuracy is less stable...”

”Then why did you make this?” Teresa subconsciously furrowed her brows.

”...Let me finish speaking, beautiful sorcerer miss,” Dugen laughed repeatedly, his laughter carrying a hint of mockery, but his words didn’t make one feel particularly harsh.

Dwarfs are eccentric, stubbornly prideful, value promises, greedy and vengeful, diplomacy and speaking are not their strengths, but some Dwarfs indeed have more talent in these areas compared to their kin, Dugen and his people have been wandering in the mountains for many years, compared to many stone-tempered Dwarfs, he speaks more (especially emphasized in terms of Dwarfs).

”The Organ Cannon, shorter range, less powerful artillery, poor accuracy, but it has a larger firepower coverage area and volley power compared to the Dwarf heavy cannon,” Dugen continued, ”With proper operation, a round of volley from the four barrels of the Organ Cannon can directly destroy an entire enemy team, something the cannon cannot achieve.”

”So we can place cannons behind the position, while the Organ Cannon can be placed slightly forward?” Laine immediately understood the relationship, ”The Organ Cannon can quickly destroy approaching enemy forces, as long as it is adequately protected, it can continue to function.”

”Exactly, my Baron, you have a talent for being a commander,” Dugen nodded.

The test firing of the artillery made Laine very satisfied, several stone houses used as targets were blasted into pieces by the shells, the whistling shells could destroy such solid stone houses, dealing with the walls was naturally a cinch.

”Very good,” Laine nodded repeatedly, ”With this, we won’t need catapults anymore.”

”Of course, this catapult thing, we Dwarfs are about to eliminate,” Dugen the Ironman raised his head, ”My Baron, safely entrust them to us, we will hit where you want us to hit.”

”Deal!”

”Deal!”

Laine and the Dwarf shook hands together.

Testing the artillery took the Baron one morning, when Teresa and Laine returned to the castle, the female sorcerer spoke with great interest, ”I didn’t expect you to be able to persuade the Dwarfs to make artillery for you. Do you know how hard Dwarfs are to serve? In Nord, apart from the Royal Capital, I haven’t seen any Dwarfs.”

”In Nord, foreigners are rare in the first place, not seeing Dwarfs is normal, Dwarfs don’t like leaving the mountains, if they have to leave the mountains, the bitter cold Nord is not where they want to go,” Laine laughed, ”Even I couldn’t stay in Nord, let alone Dwarfs.”

”So now I’ve also come here. To be honest, I like this place, Laine,” Teresa walked beside Laine, the dirt road within the Baron’s Domain had been replaced by stone roads, ”It’s just a bit too hot in summer, otherwise, it’s quite good.”

”Is it? I thought you wouldn’t like this place, especially since your temper hasn’t been very good lately,” Laine’s words seemed to carry a hidden meaning.

”Of course! If you could have Veronica take her things and get lost, it’d be even better. Also, since when does she have money to build her own Wizard Tower?” Indeed, as soon as it was mentioned, the female sorcerer gritted her teeth, ”Tell me, Laine, that... is it really so valuable?”

”???” Laine’s face displayed a bit of confusion, ”I don’t know which one you’re talking about.”

”...Forget it, Laine, I also want to have my own Wizard Tower!” Teresa’s silver eyes emitted a glow through the black butterfly-patterned goggles, ”You need to build one for me too.”

”Building a Wizard Tower requires money, my lady,” Laine retorted, ”To make artillery, I’ve spent all my money, this year’s little over half the tax collection has been put into this.”

”There’s money to build a Wizard Tower for Veronica? But none to build one for me?” Teresa ground her teeth, her forehead starting to pop veins and snowflakes, ”Don’t lie to me, Veronica’s Wizard Tower is the most luxurious I’ve seen recently. Just for the first layer, she spent nearly two thousand gold dinars... It’s called Gold Crown here, right? Where’d she get so much money? Wasn’t it all given by you?”

”That money wasn’t given by me, it was deposited with me by her, last time we completed the task of hunting the Fallen Hunter in Marinburg, we had quite a large reward,” Laine explained the source of Veronica’s wealth, then continued, ”The construction of the Wizard Tower was entirely done by her, at most I just gave her a place.”

Teresa’s gloved white lace hand gripped the reins tightly, the female sorcerer’s heart was very unwilling.

All this should have been mine! Including the Wizard Tower! Including his affection!

Clearly, I was the first to arrive!

Recalling her mother’s teachings, the young sorceress held her breath and continued, ”Then can I also get a place?”

”Yes, but you have to choose yourself,” Laine nodded, ”Also, there are already two towers near the castle, it’s best to choose a place farther away.”

”I understand.”

Just as they returned to the castle, Laine was greeted by an unexpected visitor.

It was Half-Elf Estelle! The Half-Elf wore a deerskin cape and Wood Elf robes, a recurve bow on his back, a short sword at his waist, saw Laine return, and proactively came to greet him, ”Good afternoon, Laine.”

”Good afternoon, my friend, Estelle. Is there something you came to me for?” Laine dismounted and shook hands with Estelle, he then noticed another Half-Elf standing behind Estelle, ”Who is this...”

”He is my friend, named Des,” Estelle introduced to Laine, ”He’s a ranger, used to work for the Forest Council, handling tasks like cleansing corruption, eliminating evil, and confronting malicious tree spirits with strong animosity against Elves and other secret activities in the forest.”

”Hello, Laine Macado, I’ve heard your name, and I know your remarkable deeds,” the Half-Elf was dressed in a dark green cloak, with exquisite scale armor made by Wood Elves inside, a face mask, and a green hood covering him, only revealing a pair of eyes, ”It’s an honor to meet you.”

”I’m honored to meet you too, Mr. Des,” Laine shook his hand in greeting.

At the same time, a peculiar thought popped into the Baron’s mind: Only those not loyal have secrets, internal secret circles, and are still wearing strange green hoods.

”I will speak straightforwardly, my Baron,” Estelle sighed, his face blushing a bit as he said, ”Des and I... wish to ally with you, can you accept us?”

”This...”
