Chapter 437: Chapter 187, Blood Knight Appears

PS. Brittania has won the World Cup! For the Lady!

The next day, on the cold streets of Bodlukes, a beautiful witch apprentice appeared.

”Boo! Mentor, where did you go?” Catherine walked alone on the street with a face full of grievance, trying in vain to find her mentor.

Just as she turned a dark corner, a hand covered the young apprentice’s mouth. The girl was about to struggle when she found herself being pulled into a carriage. Looking back, the girl let out a sigh of relief: ”Member of Parliament? I’ve been looking all over for you.”

Veronica’s face was full of a nourished glow, her flawlessly smooth skin radiating a unique shine. She leaned lazily on cushions and pillows, covered with a blanket: ”Alright, Catherine, there’s nothing else to do, let’s head to Gene Territory together.”

”Okay, my Member of Parliament.” Catherine said nothing more, asked nothing more. The girl remembered how she got a stern ”lesson” from her mentor for randomly asking about a mark one day, and she felt a bit scared.

However, today’s witch seemed to be in a good mood. She didn’t blame her young apprentice, but instead affectionately patted her head: ”Leaving you alone last night was my fault, it won’t happen again.”

Before Catherine could say anything, Laine’s voice came in from outside: ”Yes, Veronica, what you did was not right. The castle is big, it shouldn’t be a problem to leave a place for her to rest.”

”Hmph! My Great Knight, Catherine is my student. Her matters are none of your concern.” Veronica lazily leaned on the pillow, a smile on her face. Familiar with her mentor, Catherine knew she was not angry.

Sure enough, Veronica finally spoke the most important sentence: ”From today onwards, Catherine, you no longer need to call me Member of Parliament. Just call me Mentor from now on!”

”Yes... yes!” The young apprentice was so happy she nearly jumped up.

”You also look tired, I can tell you didn’t rest well last night. How about this, you rest well inside here while I step out for a bit.” Veronica gave Catherine’s head another scratch, then put on her boots, mounted a horse, and rode alongside Laine.

The banquet was over, and the group left Bodlukes, preparing to return to Laine’s territory.

”Once we go back, we’ll need to prepare for the Winter Festival.” Laine frowned, speaking to the female knight beside him: ”This year I’ll stay in the territory for the festival, it’s my first year here, there are many matters to deal with.”

”Hmm, but I always felt, Laine, that you changed your mind because Miss Bernadotte is coming, didn’t you?” Surya’s face remained calm as she laughed and said: ”I always thought you didn’t think this way before.”

A rather dangerous smile.

Laine found it hard to answer, the old face of the Holy Grail Knight turned red, and Veronica, riding next to him, laughed brightly: ”Don’t worry, Miss Antre, I’ll make sure to take good care of Laine and then hand him over to you all groomed up.”

”Oh? What I’m worried about is whether Miss Bernadotte, with her magic hands, can handle such a task,” Surya turned her gaze away from Laine, continuing to smile at the Jialan Witch.

Are you arguing about raising a fat pig and sending it to slaughter? Laine thought helplessly.

Meanwhile, he could vaguely hear the Lake Fairy’s amused laughter.

Well, the Lady is spectating too.

Along the way, the female knight and the witch exchanged words, calling each other Miss Antre and Miss Bernadotte with camaraderie. Their chatter barely ceased, but they didn’t argue, which relieved Laine.

Upon reflection, it made sense they had no reason to argue. One was a witch from the Jialan Council, the other the daughter of the Duke of Winford. Their identities weren’t ”rivalrous,” nor were their statuses equal. Veronica realistically never aspired to become Laine’s wife, so unlike Theresa, whose profession and origins were nearly identical, Veronica lacked strong hostility towards Surya.

As for the Duke’s daughter, a mere witch couldn’t threaten her. The Marchioness, having grown up in the court, naturally knew all Great Nobles needed court advisors for magical consultations, and having several female courtiers was very normal for the nobles.

After leaving Bodlukes, following the road, Laine led his group towards his territory.

Upon leaving the city, Laine encountered familiar faces. Mathew Bade and Fiona were also departing the city, with the young knight planning to accompany Fiona back to her hometown, the Borelion Duchy. The Borelion Castle there housed the largest opera house and the second-largest library in all of Brittania.

”So far, this Mathew Bade seems to be a decent person. I hope he can manage Fiona’s bad temper,” Surya seemed rather optimistic about this pair, the female knight pulled her radiant blonde hair into a ponytail as she mentioned this.

”Hard,” Laine shook his head: ”A person’s personality is shaped from childhood and gradually solidifies during youth. I see Miss Fiona is already sixteen or seventeen years old. At this age, changing her character would be difficult, either she needs to experience a major upheaval, or it requires years of effort to correct. Either way, it’s very challenging.”

”Laine, you’re right,” Surya could see that Laine didn’t want to bother with this matter, so the female knight dropped the subject.
