Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 420: Chapter 180, Rune Artisan Delong Feinson

PS. A brief complaint here, along with an apology to everyone, is that G.W has once again contradicted themselves. In the timeline I previously read, King Lorne-Rio Cornwall ascended the throne at around 40-50 years old. However, upon checking the official English website yesterday, everything prior had been omitted, and King Lorne was already over ninety when he succeeded to the throne... All I can say here is that there’s an endless amount of self-contradiction in Warhammer, and I’ll write the storyline as I’ve thought it out. I hope everyone understands.

PS2. Two updates today! The second update will be after 7 PM.

Riding a pure-blooded elf warhorse, holding a cross helmet adorned with a golden sea monster model, emblazoned with the yellow iris flower pattern and the family crest of the blue background with a yellow Sea God Trident, wearing a secret silver chain armor, the steadfast and brave Duke Boldro Bodric was leading dozens of Sea God Knights, awaiting Laine’s arrival.

”By the Sea God, let me be relentless!”

The Duke offered Laine the highest standard of ceremony, military music played, flags waved, and the Duke personally shook Laine’s hand and greeted him. Such a high level of courtesy was not only to show respect for the Holy Grail Knight and Divine Chosen Champion but also to acknowledge Laine.

”Welcome, Champion of the Lady, Knight Commander of the Holy Grail Knight Order, Guardian of Marinburg, Destroyer of Ten Thousand Demon Rock, son of White Wolf Knight Norman, godson of Griffin Duke and Griffin Knight Order Grand Master Ivan, Baron Gene ’Pious’ Laine Macado, welcome everyone!” Bodric’s face showed a slight smile, his thick mustache twirling upwards.

”Greetings, Divine Chosen Champion of Manannan, Grand Master of Sea God Knight Order, Protector of Boldro Port, Nemesis of Dark Elf Pirates, Opponent of Undead Knights, Terror among Rogue Knights, General of the Boldro Fleet, General of the Xinong River Patrol Guard, Temple Guardian of Manannan, Great Baron of Bodlukes, Prince Manannan, Duke Bodric of Boldro, Laine Macado salutes you with the highest respect.” During the handshake, Laine slightly bowed his head, expressing his respect to the Duke before him.

Both had a long string of official titles, and with their campaigns and rising fame, they would inevitably accumulate more titles over time.

For instance, the length of Red Dragon Duke Bohemond’s titles was more than double that of Duke Bodric’s, and to recite them all would take at least five minutes.

Laine suddenly somewhat understood why his father’s Imperial Guard had names so long they couldn’t be fully recited.

”Welcome, Marchioness Surya, welcome to my city.” After greeting Laine, Bodric spoke to the Marchioness: ”It must have been a tough journey, my steward has already arranged accommodations for you in the castle, please rest well or take a stroll in the city. Boldro has many specialties, and goods from the High Elves and Lustria are quite common. May you have a fruitful visit.”

”We will, Duke Bodric.” Surya indicated with a handshake with the Duke, their exchange entirely amiable.

She naturally belonged to this circle of great nobles, Laine thought. In terms of status alone, Marchioness Surya marrying a king would be a compatible match, whereas his status as a baron was indeed a bit lower.

He prevailed because he was the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy and a Holy Grail Knight, and with these dual identities, he matched Surya’s standing.

This medieval feudal system is so conservative after all, climbing upward is truly difficult. Brittania is relatively better, at least there is a Holy Grail Knight system parallel to titles, whereas in the Empire, elevation is intensely challenging, almost like praying to be born well.

In this world, there is no basic education system, nor any imperial examination system, making education extremely difficult. Commoners can only hope for advancement through war and martial valor.

Under the guidance of attendants and servants, Laine and the others were arranged in the castle’s tower, where the Duke provided them with two luxurious suites, the usual setup, three girls in one, Laine alone in another.

”Well... Laine, do you have anything planned for the afternoon?” By the time everyone arrived at Boldro Castle, it was past noon. The three girls planned to take a nap, but Surya wasn’t going to let him off. The Marchioness’s face blossomed with a charming smile, though somehow it seemed dangerous: ”You can’t just bring us here and then toss us aside!”

”I plan to go to this place in Boldro this afternoon.” Laine took out a parchment given to him by his brother Angerong, then continued: ”There is a Dwarf Rune Artisan there, I want to approach him to see if he is willing to join me. If you don’t mind, would you like to come with me, Surya?”

”I am also curious to witness the skills of a Dwarf Rune Artisan.” That was Surya’s response.

”Of course, Mr. Laine, you did promise to take me out to have fun, how could you think of running off on your own?” That was Amelia’s response.

”Since the lady wants to go, I, too, will certainly go along.” That was Sylvia’s response.

”Very well, let’s meet in an hour... an hour and a half. See you in the afternoon, ladies!” Laine said with a smile: ”And after seeing the Rune Artisan, the rest of the afternoon can be planned by you. I will accompany you.”
