Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 435: Chapter 186, Don’t be separated anymore

PS. It’s so sad that my Great Britain actually lost! Meow meow meow!

At night, Bodlukes was still crowded with people. Neither the maid nor the servant was qualified to attend the duke’s banquet, so they decided to go out shopping.

Duke Boldro is wealthy, and the main streets were equipped with magic lamps. A large number of patrol guards constantly walked through the streets, allowing the two girls to shop with peace of mind.

”So, Lord Laine gives you five gold crowns as salary every month?” Sylvia and Amelia walked through the crowd, both girls carrying longswords and dressed in noble attire, clearly not to be trifled with.

Some drunks and scoundrels did like to pester young women, but they weren’t stupid. Women dressed like this weren’t ones they could afford to offend.

”Yes, Mr. Laine... or rather, Lord Laine, gives me five gold crowns as salary every month. I didn’t really want it, as I seldom serve Lord Laine since going to study with Surya Sister.” Amelia said softly, her beautiful face flushed, mostly from the cold: ”But Lord Laine said young girls should buy some things for themselves, and he insisted on giving it to me, so I... well, I feel quite embarrassed.”

”Hehe, nothing to be embarrassed about, Amelia.” Sylvia usually appeared very serious, but now she seemed to want to tease Amelia: ”Just consider it as a deposit from Lord Laine.”

”Ah! Sylvia Sister, what are you talking about?” Amelia’s face turned completely red.

”I’m not talking nonsense. What I mean is, Amelia, if you really wish to stay by Lord Laine’s side, you should prepare for this.” Sylvia said softly: ”The Duke’s intentions are very clear. If Lord Laine and Miss develop further...”

”I know, I know.” Amelia’s expression was quite gloomy, which made Sylvia feel a bit puzzled. Laine is the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy and a Holy Grail Knight and a great noble. Did Amelia really think she could be Laine’s wife?

The two girls turned a corner, and a witch, wearing a corset fiery red classic women’s trench coat and a white wolf fleece witch’s robe, with her apprentice, was hiding in the corner. Watching the two girls pass by, the witch signaled for Catherine to remain silent.

The biting sea wind couldn’t climb over the high city walls, but the stones used in the construction already had a chilling coldness. Veronica’s sweet and lovely face showed some cautiousness.

She didn’t want to meet Amelia just like this. Holding her young apprentice’s hand, Veronica whispered: ”With Amelia here, chances are high that Laine is also in this town, and he is likely at Duke Boldro’s banquet.”

”Member of Parliament, why don’t you go and greet Amelia? She surely knows where Lord Laine is.” The young apprentice Catherine didn’t quite understand why Veronica was reluctant to meet Amelia proactively.

”It’s not that I’m unwilling to meet Amelia, nor do I dislike her. It’s just that everything needs to be clear with Laine first.” Veronica gently shook her head, her long, dark brown hair falling from her ear: ”I want to know exactly what Laine intends.”

”??? Didn’t Lord Laine invite you to help him construct his territory? Didn’t he also promise to build a wizard tower for you?” Catherine wasn’t sure, but naturally, as an apprentice, she listened to her mentor and remained silent.

Though she spoke like that, in truth, Veronica was also hesitant in her heart.

Amelia she knew, but she didn’t recognize the girl accompanying Amelia.

So who was she? Laine’s new maid? Or Amelia’s friend? Or some other relationship?

Having been away from Laine’s side for a while, now being in Boldro, if she moved fast enough, she could reach Laine’s territory by tomorrow afternoon. Veronica suddenly felt a bit nervous.

Indeed, am I still not confident in myself? Jialan Witch suddenly laughed at herself: Miss Veronica Bernadotte, this constant worry is not like you at all.

”Catherine, you go find lodging first. If I don’t come back tonight, just don’t worry about me.” Veronica thought for a while and made up her mind.

”Member of Parliament, where are you planning to go?” With her hand in Veronica’s, Catherine asked curiously.

”To find Laine.”

”Huh?”

......

The night deepened, though the banquet showed no signs of stopping, Laine felt it was time to leave.

”Surya?” He found the Duke’s daughter resting in a corner and reached out his hand towards her: ”Shall we go?”

”Alright!” The duke’s daughter also felt a bit weary from the long banquet, so she took Laine’s hand, and the two walked out of the castle’s courtyard together: ”Laine...”

”What is it, Surya?” Under the moonlight, the milk-like smooth skin of the female knight emitted an enchanting glow.

”Lord Bodric... is he looking for you for something?” Surya hesitated for a moment before continuing to ask.

”He plans to launch a counterattack on the dark elves that have been repeatedly harassing the territory, which might require my assistance.” Laine felt there was nothing to hide in this and briefly explained Bodric’s plan: ”The Duke wants to resolve the pirate issue, to facilitate his search for the Holy Grail.”
