Chapter 423: Chapter 181, Lake God Witch Decapitation Plan

Hundreds of pounds of iron weight was lifted high by Laine, the Holy Grail Knight, attracting the attention and admiration of the citizens as he paraded down the street.

Laine knew well that with dwarves, you couldn’t play tricks or take shortcuts. To gain their trust, there’s no other way but to show them with honest and straightforward methods.

In many novels, the protagonist relies on tricks or cheats to face challenges, but often those are just the author’s self-righteous cleverness, assuming that everyone else is a fool?

Dwarves don’t buy that. They might not understand what methods humans use to cheat, but they know when humans are cheating. So even if humans fulfill their demands, they wouldn’t gain their trust.

And just as Laine was striding past the stone-paved street, holding the iron weight, heading towards the end of the street, a hoarse voice was whispering with a younger voice in a dark velvet-draped carriage by the roadside: ”Can you defeat him now?”

”Can’t do it, my godfather. He is the Divine Chosen Champion of that Green Pool. He now has at least Legendary High-Tier strength, and he is surrounded by a terrifying energy. I don’t know what it is, but he’s very dangerous,” said the young voice.

Inside the dark carriage, the two figures in black robes were completely covered. The younger voice only revealed a pair of blue eyes.

The hoarse and withered figure had no eyes, only hollow sockets within which the Soul Fire burned.

”Ugh ugh ugh~ah ah ah~” Listening to the young man’s words, the hoarse voice let out a long sigh, a pale, sinister smoke wafting from beneath his mask and dissipating into invisibility: ”Then we’ll have to slightly alter our plans. It’s difficult to deal with a Divine Chosen Champion and a Holy Sanctuary Divine Chosen Mage at the same time.”

The young voice continued, ”My godfather, you are so powerful, even all of Setra’s Ancient Tomb Priests combined can’t match you alone. Why must we capture the Lake God Witch? Her power is weaker than yours, so why are we taking the risk to infiltrate here?”

The deteriorating figure nodded slowly, ”Yes, Mogiana, a Holy Sanctuary Mage of the Sky and Life Elements, the First Divine Chosen of the Lake Jade Pool. Even with the help of that Green Pool Goddess, she is not my match. But to resurrect My Lord, we need sufficient sacrifices.”

”The Nine Volumes correspond to nine sacrifices. We also need My Lord’s Magic Staff, My Lord’s Sword, and My Lord’s Armor. This way, the Master of the Undead, who once made the entire world tremble, will return to this world.”

”A piece of good news, due to the disturbance of the Twin-tailed Comet, the ritual that originally required all Nine Volumes now only needs five volumes and five sacrifices to begin the ceremony to recall My Lord. But we still need as many sacrifices as possible. The more sacrifices we have, the stronger My Lord will be.”

”We have already captured the Bishop of the God of Nature Tal, the Divine Chosen Priest of the Merciful Goddess Shalya, and the Archbishop of the God of Stealing Ronald. Three of the nine sacrifices are already assembled.”

”However, the most crucial three sacrifices, the Eternal Queen Ailarielle of the High Elf, Archbishop Vicma Bekman of the Justice Church, and the Lake God Witch Mogiana, we need to assemble at least two of these... They are qualified as carriers and storage for divine power and magic power.”

The carriage began to drive away from the bustling street, as it was too noisy here.

The black carriage rumbled forward, the wooden wheels constantly turning, and the whispers inside continued.

”Though Mogiana isn’t my match, swiftly taking her down isn’t easy. As a Holy Sanctuary Grand Mage as well, I can’t determine victory in a short time. If given a little more time, the knights of this country will come to support, and the Lake God Witch, once alerted, will be difficult to capture,” the hoarse voice continued: ”, so we need some tactics.”

”First, she’s been cursed by me. Terrible dreams and dark surveillance have already weakened her mana, suppressing her spirit, so she can’t unleash her full abilities in battle.”

”Mogiana carries three items blessed by the Lake Jade Pool: the Potion Chalice, the Golden Waistband, and Mogiana’s Mirror.”

”The Potion Chalice helps her store Magic Wind and release powerful lightning spells.”

”The array on the Golden Waistband protects Mogiana from sword and knife harm.”

”Mogiana’s Mirror can help her identify those Chaos Demons or Vampire Creatures disguised as humans.”

The young voice seemed to understand, ”No wonder, with so many tools at her protection, the Lake God Witch is truly a difficult opponent to deal with.”

”My godson, we need patience.”

”Let’s slowly destroy this Lake God Witch’s defenses bit by bit and then lure her out from the Holy Grail Knight’s protection.”

”And there’s another piece of good news, a tree spirit is willing to make a deal with us, hehe~ a tree spirit that has fallen into madness. Severe Chaos Corruption has driven it mad. We might be able to use it to accelerate our plans.”

”Leave the capture of the Lake God Witch to me, my godson. Your target is to find a way to enter Borelion and retrieve one of the Nine Volumes, and then let us overturn this nation built on deceit and lies together!”
