Warhammer Divine Throne

PS. This is the second update today, please give lots of support!

Old World, Brittania, Baron Gene’s Domain, Red Fish Village, north of the Xinong River.

Early October, deep autumn season, temperatures gradually began to get colder, Brittania’s winter is approaching.

The autumn wind howled, the forest was full of color, a gentle breath exuded from the broad fields, a clearness water-like spread over the slopes and terraces, the autumn harvest was almost over, the tax officer from the Master Knight had collected all the due grains, leaving behind a mediocre yield, peasants began chopping wood and grinding flour, meanwhile, they also had to plow the land once more in preparation for sowing winter wheat.

The cultivation of winter wheat requires a large workforce and a certain amount of fertilizer, and most of the grain grown belongs to the Lord, so the peasants are generally not very enthusiastic about growing winter wheat.

Fortunately, the tax system set by the Lord is a seventeen percent tax, the tax set by the Holy Grail Knight is not particularly heavy, so the peasants manage to keep something after their hard work, and with the teachings from the Merciful Goddess Church, the peasants learned to use plant ash or livestock manure to fertilize their fields.

Of course, the finest horse manure costs money, peasants have to perform service at the local Knight Lord two to three days a week in exchange for the right to use mills and some special tools, after completing the labor, the Master Knight allows peasants to bring a small portion of the outcomes back to their homes, depending on the situation, for example, after chopping wood, the Lord allows peasants to carry a bundle of wood back home, how much they can carry entirely depends on their strength, if a peasant greedily takes too much causing the wood to fall or making them unable to walk, they will lose this privilege.

Red Fish Village has a giant Ranger Knight, known to everyone in the village, the village elders usually call him Mr. Angerong, it is said that this giant knight is the brother of Lord Laine, a Holy Grail Knight, who came here seeking refuge after committing some crime, so the villagers are somewhat afraid of him.

This Ranger Knight is always a bit different, for many years, peasants have rarely seen a knight personally plowing the fields, nor have they seen such a fierce Master Knight, after Lord Laine led the local army to participate in the Knightly War, the small Red Fish Village actually fell under the administration of this Master Angerong.

The Master Knight’s life is very orderly, he often works from sunrise till sunset, every early morning, the Master Knight would get up and run to the Xinong River to douse himself with cold water, many peasants shiver just watching him, but the Master Knight shouts in delight, in addition, he slaps the river water with his hand, causing many live fish to be flung out of the water, to be brought home by the Master Knight.

This Master Knight is extremely strong, needing hardly anyone to toil on his behalf, trees that four men could encircle with their arms were chopped down by him with a single axe swing and carried home by himself, fields were irrigated and developed under his direction, he also raised many fat pigs and poultry, patiently making feed for them, under his leadership, Red Fish Village gained a new atmosphere, with the Master Knight working so diligently, under his strict supervision, peasants do not dare to slack off, this year’s harvest was good, Red Fish Village welcomed a bumper crop.

The village’s bounty and many fat pigs soon attracted the greed of nearby bandits and rogue knights, who took advantage of a moonless windy night to intrude into Red Fish Village.

And then, there was no ’then’.

Three waves of bandits and rogue knights came and disappeared without a trace upon entering Red Fish Village, from then on, no one ever saw them again, only knowing that several hardworking peasants gained quite a few semi-new weapons and equipment, the adult males were armed.

Since then, serving the Master Knight sometimes transformed into receiving the Master Knight’s military training, peasants wielded looted weapons to participate in training, starting with basic drill and spear thrusting, the Master Knight’s rigorous training made many peasants wail, each training session felt like a funeral to them.

Yet, the Master Knight liked watching their misery, he spoke little, always rewarding the best young man in the training with a piece of meat, thinking about the hardships of labor and training being roughly the same, peasants managed to get by, at least there were some rewards.

After witnessing the Master Knight personally capturing two wild bulls by their tails and taming them into oxen from the forest, the peasants became somewhat numb, after all, with our Master Knight being unbeatable and not imposing heavy taxes, life could still go on.

One autumn day, Red Fish Village welcomed an uninvited visitor.

This uninvited guest, with long white shoulder-length hair, rode a packhorse, with many bags on either side of the saddle, along with the head of a Vampire Beast, behind the uninvited guest were two swords, a silver sword and a steel sword, with a fire cannon at the waist, wearing convenient scale armor and a cloak for mobility, but showing wear in several places.

Village residents began whispering upon seeing him.

”That’s not the Master Mission Knight, that’s a Demon Hunter!”

”What’s a Demon Hunter doing in a place like this?”

”Oh God, these damned mutants! They bring misfortune wherever they go! I just hope he’s not here to investigate.”

”Go notify the village elder!”

A few peasants quickly ran deeper into the village, while the remaining peasants eyed the Demon Hunter with suspicion, but no overt hostility.

Demon Hunters are everywhere, spread across the Continent, many Churches have partnerships with Demon Hunter organizations, but as stated previously, Demon Hunters’ status is somewhat awkward, so they are not warmly received and many humans look upon them with doubt and fear.

Because once signs of corruption are found in the village, the Demon Hunter is likely to take extreme measures due to this reason.

This Demon Hunter appears to be around thirty, with a relatively young face, already covered in scars, especially a particularly horrifying one that stretches from his eyebrow to his cheek. When he heard the villagers whispering among themselves, he became somewhat silent, but he still came to the village’s bulletin board, wanting to see if there were any tasks he could take on recently.

There was only one notice on the bulletin board, which was about the legend of the Red Blood Knight.

In the nights of Brittania, there are often Undead Knights roaming about, covered in blood all over, holding shields and wielding cavalry lances. These Undead Knights might be followers of the Blood Red Duke, or they might not be. They bear the emblem of the Red Giant Dragon, yet their armor is covered with symbols of death and slayers. The weapon they hold in their hands is something fallen and corrupted, inscribed with dark runes, embossed with wicked metals, adorned with illustrations of fierce beasts, and emanates a foul stench, constantly attacking villages.

They call themselves Blood Castle Knights.

The only ones capable of confronting these most terrifying Undead Knights are the Holy Grail Knights, and once the Blood Castle Knights appear, the Holy Grail Knights will immediately move against them, engaging in a legendary confrontation.

Anyone who can obtain intelligence about the Red Blood Knights can report to the Lord, who will certainly give a generous reward.

”This isn’t a task I can undertake.” The Demon Hunter shook his head, knowing about these Blood Knights, as his Demon Hunter mentor had warned him that his abilities were not suitable for such a difficult task.

At that moment, the elder from Red Fish Village appeared, leaning on a wooden cane, quivering as he came to the Demon Hunter: ”What brings you here, Demon Hunter?”

”My name is Abel, from the Empire’s Hemgart.” The Demon Hunter nodded slightly, as if greeting him: ”Do you have any work for me around here?”

”Uh, let me think... Our village has been very quiet recently, nothing special has happened, you might be disappointed, Demon Hunter.” The elder thought for a while and then shook his head.

”Well, can you tell me how to get to Gene Town?” Seeing that there weren’t any tasks available, Demon Hunter Abel realized the villagers were not welcoming of him staying, so he chose to leave.

After the Demon Hunter rode his horse away, a tall and strong figure appeared behind the elder: ”What’s the background of that person? Seems like you all fear him?”

”Master Angron!” The elder immediately knelt down: ”They are Demon Hunters.”

”Demon Hunters? What are they?” Angron, with a fierce look and a bald head, spoke quite calmly.

The elder explained the role of the Demon Hunters to Angron.

”Kind of like the Judicial Court? That’s interesting, surely these people aren’t very popular, right?” Angron said with interest: ”Interesting, if I get the chance, I’d love to chat with him... using my axe.”

”Well, Master Angron, recently... the villagers have seen some things.” The elder thought for a while before speaking in a soft voice: ”Someone really saw a blood-red knight deep in the Charon Forest, riding a fire-breathing black horse.”

”Yes, I know, I saw it too.” To everyone’s surprise, Angron calmly nodded: ”Looks like you’re not talking nonsense.”

”Uh, Master Angron, those Red Blood Knights are extremely dangerous, you absolutely cannot fight them head-on, you must call upon the Master Holy Grail Knight, only the Master Holy Grail Knight can handle the Red Blood Knight!” The elder quickly said.

”Is that what you’re talking about?” Much to the elder’s surprise, Angron lifted a blood-red Sharp-Top Dragon Wing Helmet, inside was a withered, shrunken head with an abnormal grayish-white color.

”Ah! That’s... a Blood Knight!” The elder fell to the ground in fear, exclaiming, ”Master Angron, you defeated the Blood Knight, and killed it?”

”Yeah, this guy was annoying, certainly not human.” Angron tossed the head to the ground, muttering as though the Blood Knight had been troubling him.

”It disturbed my farming, so I twisted its head off, so weak, couldn’t even take a hit.”

”Find a place to hang it up, so no more annoying ones come to disturb my farming.”

”Leave the rest to you, I need to go feed my cattle.”
