When the Skeleton Soldiers clashed with the Shadow Army, Dominic immediately understood the opponent’s strength on the South City Wall.

At the same time, he also realized the weaknesses and issues of these Skeleton Soldiers.

Don’t be deceived by the fact that these Skeleton Soldiers belong to the Undead; they are currently located in the territory of the Maze Demon City.

They receive empowerment from Maze Demon City.

The newly acquired Maze Demon City certainly cannot compare to the long-established Yalidov City in this aspect.

The number of small plots used to enhance troop combat power here is far less than that of Yalidov City.

Moreover, some small plot buildings even choose to strengthen specific targets, and some enhance the speed of training camps.

The garrison troops within Maze Demon City clearly have weaker combat power than those stationed in Yalidov City.

The current situation of these Skeleton Soldiers exemplifies this; although their level is 11, some of their attributes have not been strengthened.

The only thing Dominic can guarantee is that these Skeleton Soldiers will not affect the morale of other units.

Beyond that, there isn’t much assurance.

Luckily, these Skeleton Soldiers are just cannon fodder, used to draw enemy attention.

Dominic is not displeased with the weak strength of the Skeleton Soldiers.

After releasing the Skeleton Soldiers, Dominic raised his hand and ordered the arrow towers on the South City Wall to start attacking.

The arrow towers of Maze Demon City were buildings left from the start, with corresponding troops stationed inside.

Currently stationed within the arrow towers is a batch of Medusa Shooters.

Among the two types of Medusas within the city, there is actually a professional distinction.

The Medusa Archers are pure bow archers; their shots can be poisonous, and their eyes can petrify enemies, belonging to a dual-strong ranged and melee unit.

On the other hand, Medusa Shooters are different; their shots are not poisonous. Although their eyes can also petrify people, it’s not their advantage. Their advantage is in operating various ranged weapons, like the crossbow cannons on the arrow towers.

Thus, Medusa Shooters are often arranged as bombardment squads, sent to the arrow towers.

All arrow towers in the city have been upgraded.

The previous arrangement of arrow towers targeted flying giant dragons in the sky.

The shooting range and attack power of the arrow towers naturally exceed normal levels.

Under Dominic’s command, the black arrows shot from the arrow towers precisely hit the tall shadows near the Shadow Hero in the enemy’s formation.

This strike startled the Shadow Hero.

So, nine formations quickly changed formations.

The three thousand-man formations at the front fighting the Skeleton Soldiers didn’t need to move, but the four thousand-man formations at the back quickly pushed forward, preparing to encircle and attack the Skeleton Soldiers from both sides.

The remaining two thousand-man formations retreated, preparing to fall back a bit, to protect the attacking catapult.

The Shadow Hero also noticed the effectiveness of his catapult attacks.

Otherwise, Dominic wouldn’t use the arrow towers for retaliation.

If only the city wall can be breached now, his troops can rush into the city; then would the meager forces on the city wall want to stop his attack?

Don’t even think about it.

So under the current situation, protecting the catapult is surely the priority over anything else.

Standing on the city wall, Dominic immediately noticed the enemy’s changes.

At this moment, Dominic also smiled.

This is exactly the effect he wanted.

Actually, the most troublesome part of siege warfare for the attacking side is not the moment of breaching the city walls and entering the city.

It’s that when they are outside, they have no idea about the buildings inside the city, and what functions these buildings could serve.

Without intelligence support, the proper siege tactic is to follow one’s own rhythm.

Gradually attacking the city walls, filling in the moat.

Previously, the Shadow Hero had been doing just that.

But after Dominic’s arrows from the arrow towers, the Shadow Hero made a wrong judgment.

He brought out all his troops.

That gave Dominic an opportunity.

He used magic.

As a Hero, Dominic naturally also possessed a Magic Book.

Dominic’s magic level is not considered strong.

But defending here in Maze Demon City, he can use the power of the Magic Tower.

With virtually unlimited mana.

Any magic recorded within the Magic Tower, he can use fully.

Although not empowered in terms of power, the effects are absolutely uncompromised.

The Underground City’s magic primarily focuses on Earth Element and Fire Element.

Both elements contain attacks and defenses.

Facing the Shadow Army enclosing the Skeleton Soldiers, Dominic immediately cast the magic he had previously chosen.

Insane!

This is a relatively advanced spell within Fire Magic.

If one were to delve into the theory behind it, at least an entire book could be written.

Of course, Dominic doesn’t need to learn about it; he just needs to know how to use it.

Using the traits of the Magic Tower, Dominic’s magic use resembled performing a magic ceremony.

An Insane spell was cast, directly engulfing both the Skeleton Soldiers and the seven formations of shadows.

The effect of Insane magic is straightforward.

Once struck, the target acts like Frenzied Beast Skeleton Soldiers, uncontrollable, attacking everything nearby at will.

However, there are two issues here; one is the effect happens only once.

It’s not long-lasting; that is, once you hit others, the Insane effect on you disappears, regardless of its level.

The other point is its poor effect on long-range targets.

After all, long-range attacks focus not around themselves but on distant enemies.

Therefore, Insane does not significantly impact them.

The most appropriate use of Insane is against opponents with hard-control effects like entanglement, paralysis, or immobilization.

Hard-control effects occur with attack activation.

Once Insane skill is triggered, it can control nearby same-type units.

Once hard-controlled and unable to move freely, they become the best targets.

This method is particularly suitable for dealing with enemies like the Tree-man or Tree Spirit.

Because whenever a Tree Spirit attacks, Root Entanglement is inevitable.

Both attacks and counterattacks result in this, and only by killing the Tree Spirit will Root Entanglement be released.

Often, just one Insane spell can confine an entire forest of Tree Spirits.

And keep them confined for eternity.

Dominic does not require such a feat right now; he just needs to cause chaos among the shadows.

With his single Insane spell.

All shadows began attacking everything around them.

As for the Skeleton Soldiers surrounded by shadows, though affected by Insane too, they were already fighting shadows, so the effect or lack thereof doesn’t really matter.

But the shadows surrounding the Skeleton Soldiers were different.

They didn’t all squeeze inside; once Insane took hold, their eyes turned red, attacking everything nearby.
