After replenishing mana through food at the city cafeteria twice, and then using it all up on Soul Summoning Skill.

Gu Xi finally couldn’t hold on and went back to the tavern to sleep.

Replenishing mana through food is faster than sleeping, but Gu Xi’s stomach can only take so much; he can’t keep eating indefinitely.

If he keeps eating, he’ll burst.

Through this intensive replenishment, Gu Xi has realized that in a few hours, if he doesn’t want to drink the bitter magic potion en masse, he can only replenish his mana three times via food.

It seems he should suggest to Eve to help research whether there’s a way to improve the taste of magic potions.

As for food replenishment, this cannot continue indefinitely.

As Gu Xi closed his eyes and rubbed his belly, he slowly fell asleep.

This time, Gu Xi didn’t sleep for long.

While he was still in a daze, he suddenly heard the sound of explosions from outside the city.

Gu Xi sat up instantly.

”Someone is attacking the city, people...”

Gu Xi hadn’t even finished calling when he shut his mouth.

He suddenly remembered that he wasn’t in Yalidu City; Gu Xi had already handed everything in Maze Demon City to Dominic.

He opened the information window for a look.

In front of him, flashing red alerts kept going off.

The time for the wild beast siege had arrived; the enemy was attacking Maze Demon City simultaneously from three directions.

Three directions?

Looking at the popped-up information, Gu Xi was momentarily stunned.

Why were there three directions?

Hadn’t Dominic sent out the Giant Dragon Corps to handle one direction of enemies?

Why were there enemy forces from three directions simultaneously?

With this thought, Gu Xi quickly stood up.

Can Dominic handle this alone?

Gu Xi tidied his clothes while heading outside.

As he walked out of his room, he immediately saw a large number of thieves running out from different rooms, heading outside.

Seeing these thieves’ movements, Gu Xi realized Dominic was worried too.

In front of the tavern, Gu Xi jumped onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, hesitated only for a moment, and headed towards the castle direction.

This was Gu Xi’s first time playing defense in a siege battle.

He wasn’t very clear about where the defender should stand to command.

So he immediately decided to follow Eldest Princess Anna, stepping into the castle gates.

Upon entering the castle, the first thing Gu Xi saw was Lord of Skeletons, who was there recording something.

”Huh, Lord of Skeletons, why are you here?”

”The Eldest Princess heard there was going to be a siege battle here, so she sent me over as the defending side to take a look.”

Lord of Skeletons spoke with a resigned expression.

He is the lord in charge of logistics under Eldest Princess Anna, responsible mainly for the manufacture of weapons and equipment in the city and the re-equipping of soldiers.

”How did you get here?”

Gu Xi can understand Eldest Princess Anna’s thinking; he himself wants to watch the battle, let alone Princess Anna who has the entire Yalidu City’s safety in her hands.

From Anna’s perspective, any extra insight into the siege defense is an experience gained.

You never know when those experiences might be needed.

Gu Xi was more interested in how Lord of Skeletons arrived, considering the distance between Maze Demon City and Yalidu City, which he was well aware of.

Traveling back and forth on that route would consume considerable time.

”Dominic has set up a flying point; I flew over on a Giant Bat.”

While talking, Gu Xi and Lord of Skeletons reached the tallest tower in the castle.

Standing there, Gu Xi could see most of Maze Demon City clearly.

But the battle on the city wall wasn’t very visible due to the dense city buildings and distance.

Gu Xi was about to say something when he noticed Lord of Skeletons taking out many items that looked like ceremonial and magic ceremony materials, setting them up on the side.

”What is this?”

Gu Xi was about to ask.

Suddenly, a sonic boom sounded behind him.

Gu Xi turned to see numerous dragons taking off from below the castle, flying towards the city wall direction at high speed.

”The battle has begun, it’s started!”

Lord of Skeletons exclaimed excitedly, ”It will be installed soon.”

”What are you installing?”

Gu Xi asked while stepping forward to help, lest the incomplete setup be blown away by the fast-flying dragons.

”Lady Eve proposed it, supported by Lady Luna, a full-spectrum battlefield monitoring system researched and developed.”

”It’s a combination of magic and technology, although it’s somewhat bulky.”

”Requires setting up a temporary base on the battlefield to relay the combat visuals.”

”Only two sets have been made. I brought one over this time.”

”The other is being set up in Yalidovitar now.”

”Once I set up the temporary base properly here, the battle visuals can be directly transmitted to Yalidu City.”

”Oh, so you’re here for this. I thought you were observing, learning from the combat experience.”

Gu Xi smiled upon hearing this.

Lord of Skeletons didn’t say much, swiftly assembling the system.

Without proper setup, the battlefield situation can’t be observed, let alone broadcast live to Yalidovitar.

Thus, Lord of Skeletons needed to hasten his work.

And Gu Xi didn’t interfere; he watched from a distance, occasionally checking the situation over at the city wall.

Soon, the full-spectrum battlefield monitoring system was installed.

Once the system started, myriad tiny mirror fragments flew out from the ceremony, rapidly dispersing in all directions.

As these fragments flew out, Gu Xi realized this was a technique Luna acquired after obtaining the Orange Armor.

If it were Luna before, she probably couldn’t create such tiny mirror fragments.

Perhaps she could make them tiny, but not as freely.

As those powdered mirror fragments flew outwards, Gu Xi noticed the equipment displaying visuals of the entire Maze Demon City and the surroundings about ten miles outside.

Through the projected visuals, Gu Xi also saw the situation outside Maze Demon City.

Dominic was standing on the southern city wall, facing a deceitful shadow squad of around nine thousand troops.

At that moment, Dominic’s expression was somewhat grim.

He hadn’t expected that shortly after the Giant Dragon Corps returned to report the annihilation of a shadow squad, a strange Mud Dragon Team emerged from that direction.

This completely disrupted Dominic’s strategy.

He had to bring out the Hungry Dragon, which had barely recovered some physical strength, as a placeholder.

Simultaneously, he assessed the situation of both enemy sides and personally took to the south to oversee operations, ensuring the enemy couldn’t break through the mysterious maze defenses in one swift move.
