The entire audience in the Grand Arena was completely perplexed as they watched the battle unfold.

The Onyx Academy had been nearly wiped out, and their prospects looked grim; if Alec defeated their captain, they would not even advance to the next stage of the competition.

“Is the War God Academy team that strong, or has the Onyx Academy been overrated, managing to climb the ranks just because of being lucky?” one spectator from an ordinary academy blurted out.

In which his friend beside him immediately covered his mouth and shushed him.

“Don’t let the fans of the Onyx Academy hear your slander, they seem to be on the verge of losing, and it’s clear they won’t be in the best of moods, aggravating them would not end well for you.”

“But I’m just saying what I think!

Why should I get in trouble for that?

It’s not like I’m wrong, they’ve nearly had their entire squad eliminated in under fifteen minutes, and now their captain is being cornered.”

“ It kind of feels like they’ve been hyped up, and maybe they don’t deserve the title of Great Eight considering how the War God Academy team is trashing them,” the spectator replied, unable to hold back his criticism of the Onyx Academy while feigning innocence.

His friend could only chuckle nervously, while glancing around to ensure no one was listening.

Thankfully, everyone else was too engrossed in the fight to pay attention to what they were saying, as no one wanted to miss a second of the fast-paced action that could determine the outcome of the competition.

A lot was being decided in mere seconds.

“You see, the Onyx Academy is in no way weak.

If you ask me, they’re incredibly strong, though some believe that in a one-on-one against the Holy Grail Academy, they might not have made it this far, as they believe the Holy Grail Academy to be stronger”

“But I guess it’s their own luck, they reached the third round through their own strength and luck, which deserves recognition.

You have no right to shame them; the only reason they seem weak is that they’ve encountered a bigger monster.”

“Though the War God Academy team may have improved significantly, but the defeat of the Onyx Academy ultimately hinges on one man, Alec Gordons.

His golems eliminated the team members of the Onyx Academy, while he held the line against a horde of undead all by himself.”

“Let me be clear, not many could replicate what Alec Gordons has done, his influence on the battlefield is immense; he alone can be said to be a whole team.

“

“Add his academy mates into the mix, and it’s evident why he has been able to push the Onyx Academy to the brink of defeat so quickly, he’s simply much stronger and came up with a better tactics.”

“This makes the impending defeat of the Onyx Academy look quite ridiculous in your eyes, as they had just charged forward with no plan whatsoever” his friend continued, carefully explaining everything he had observed from the fights so far.

He wanted to prevent his friend from running his mouth and risking trouble with an angry mob of fans who hadn’t expected their team to lose—or with the mages who had bet on Onyx academy and stood to lose.

He felt that if his friend wasn’t cautious with his words, he might be in for a ruthless beating.

In the VIP section, a rare silence enveloped them there as they watched the match unfold before them.

Even the Dean of the War God Academy couldn’t conceal his shock by just nervously chuckling like before, he was just like everyone else around him “Perplexed “.

Although he had entertained the thought of victory for a brief second, but he never expected that just a few minutes into the battle, the War God Academy team would display such a dominating performance.

“Old Dean, my academy has a high-ranked mage with an earth affinity who has evolved to the Manipulation stage, i believe Alec should definitely come under our banner so we can nurture him from the outset.” the representative standing in for the Dean of the Battle Mage Academy, said while staring at Alec

The Dean of the War God Academy merely smirked at the mage’s statement; as he was not one to lose in a battle of words and still had a few tricks up his sleeve regarding the matter of those trying to poach Alec.

“I have a few words for you, Mad Dog’s Grand Disciple,” he asserted, pulling out his Mad Dog card once again, a warning to those who had their eyes on Alec.

He had been relishing the fact that Alec’s mentor was none other than the infamous Terran Dunce, but his own was a small matter as his own master was The Mad Dog of the War God Mage Academy.

This connection rendered Alec a sort of grand disciple, and it was widely known that the Mad Dog didn’t tolerate interference within the War God academy or anything related to him.

The Dean of the Bloodline Academy wore a sly smile as he observed the match in the arena, while the other Deans and academy leaders attempted to persuade the Dean of the War God Academy to trade Alec for their own interests.

It wasn’t that he also didn’t want to try poaching Alec; he simply felt unfortunate in this situation, as he typically focused on mages with Bloodlines.

Given everything Alec had demonstrated, the Bloodline Academy Dean doubted Alec possessed any such lineage power, as if he did he felt Alec would be too overpowered.

Dorian, who had been granted the opportunity to face Alec one-on-one, began to circle him while summoning a long sword that appeared heavier than his own frame.

However, despite the comical image, Dorian wielded the weapon confidently, conveying that he had mastered its power and wouldn’t be dominated by it.

Alec merely stared at him, not yet drawing his blade; his Changdao remained sheathed, his right hand hovering just above it, poised to strike at any moment.

“Are you going to come at me already?” Alec finally complained, growing bored with Dorian’s circling.

Unexpectedly, Dorian dashed toward him as soon as the words left Alec’s mouth, thrusting the tip of his sword upward from below.

Thus began the final moments of the match, one that might decide the fates of who advance to the final of the competition.
