The Golem Mage

613: Third Round.

613: Third Round.

After a lengthy discussion about their personal issues, Alec and his entire team felt a sense of closeness and harmony that hadn’t been present before Alec decided to call it quits on his side.

As Alec was making his way to his room, he was intercepted by his clansmen.

“Alec, we wanted to speak with you privately, would it be alright if we came into your room for a conversation?” Agnes was the one who spoke up first, Alec slowly glanced at Arthur, Brandon, Knight, and Agnes, with their heads slightly lowered.

And he had a sense of why they had sought him out.

So he slowly opened the door, allowing them to enter.

“It’s funny that this is the first time we’re stepping foot in your room since we arrived at the Grand Arena, considering how we’ve always been tagging along and crashing at your previous places, one would expect us to have done so already.” Arthur couldn’t help but blurt out.

Alec, understanding their sentiment, nodded.

“Well, now that you’re here, can you tell me what it is you all would like to discuss?”

“We want to become stronger, we don’t want to be seen as mere side characters anymore, we want to be able to fight by your side, to give you the confidence that we can watch your back when you need it.” This time, it was Brandon, the usually quiet one, who found his voice and spoke up.

Alec let out a sigh, realizing that his suspicions had been right on point.

He had sensed that they might have such concerns soon, but he hadn’t known exactly how to address the issue.

They had always been the ones who stood by his side through thick and thin, so it was clear that they had their own aspirations and desires.

Considering Alec’s rapid progression through realms, outpacing them in their training, it was only natural that such a discussion would arise, he just hadn’t expected it to happen so soon.

The inter-academy competition had starkly highlighted the gap that existed between Alec and his team members, as they also met other fighters that were above them, so he was guessing that was what instigated how they were feeling.

“Is there a way to bring them into the Beast Forest?” Alec mentally asked a question, contemplating a solution.

“Yeah, I think it’s possible, but you would need a free Level 2 branch to transport their consciousness with you into the Amulet world, but let me ask you this, are you completely sure about what you want to do?” the system spirit, with whom Alec had been mentally conversing, posed a question.

“Yeah, I’ll just have to limit their exposure to the beast forest and claim it as my awakened ability, cause it also pains me to see my original team members in this state.”

“ If they can grow to a point where they can better protect themselves within the group, then I won’t have to worry as much as this,” Alec responded to the system spirit silently.

“ Emmmr Alec” Suddenly, Agnes was forced to call Alec’s attention, as he seems to have gotten lost in his thoughts, but luckily, he was not too deep with the system spirit making it possible for him to quickly snap back to the present upon hearing her voice.

“Sorry about that, right now, all of you need to focus on cultivation.

I’ll try to obtain more pills to boost your cultivation speed, but without any life-or-death situations, I doubt we’ll see any significant changes, moreover, it’s been a while since we’ve all been in a Blood Moon War, which could explain the stagnant progress,” Alec explained.

“But don’t worry, I’m working on changing that!” Alec assured them, his determination shining through.

“We actually acknowledge that our progress has been quite remarkable, considering none of us expected to enter the Tier 4 Mage realm in our first year.”

“ However, all we truly want is to have your back whenever we can, and we genuinely appreciate everything you’ve done for us—providing pills, the spirit equipment set, and more.

“

“ Just know that we want you to be able to count on us too,” Agnes expressed sincerely as they left the room, finally allowing Alec to breathe a sigh of relief, grateful for finding a way to defer that conversation.

At the moment, Alec wouldn’t be able to transport any of them into the Beast Forest.

The only Level 2 branch he possessed was still busy consuming the remains of the deceased Golden Horn Drake.

Now finding himself alone, Alec jumped on his bed and closed his eyes, anticipating his return to the Amulet world to assess his recent loot.

With his newfound strength, he was planning on embarking on a hunting spree.

However, before that, there was something he had been eager to test for a long time.

“Everyone, gather round!” Selene burst into the main room, summoning all the team members, however, upon seeing Alec’s absence, she paused.

“Wait a moment!” she said, walking over to his door and gently pushing it open.

“Of course, what was I thinking?

He’s fallen asleep again!” Selene exclaimed softly, locking the door before returning to the main room, where the entire team had assembled, regardless of what they were doing before.

“Alright, now we don’t necessarily need Alec for this discussion, we have Vice-Captain Beatrice, who will relay the news to him, the lower bracket of the Great Eight Academy has been ranked after a series of arranged matches,” Selene began, addressing the rest of the team.

“The eighth position goes to the Vajra Academy, due to their captain and vice-captain being in a critical state, it thus left them no chance to challenge the other three academy teams for a higher position, and they settled for the last position in the Great 8, still an honourable position though” Selene began, relaying the rankings to the team.

“Moving on, the seventh position goes to the Witches and Wizard Academy, they were unable to defeat either the Gate Academy or the Holy Grail Academy, so they solidified their position in seventh place,” Selene continued.

“Meanwhile, the sixth position is claimed by the Gate Academy, while the Holy Grail Academy has secured the fifth position, after defeating the Gate academy, they have shown dominance just below the top four,” Selene elaborated.

.

“People might have believed that they deserved a spot in the top four, but after Alec completely decimated the entire Vajra Academy team, leaving them in last place, they couldn’t point fingers at us as the weaker academy in the top four again.”

“ And now, we have earned the support of thousands of fans, no regular fan of another academy can throw shade at our team without facing the consequences of bantering with a fan of ours,” Selene expressed, her voice filled with triumph, as the team responded with cheers, celebrating their remarkable improvement.

“Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you all that the third round format, location and fixtures has been arranged, and in our first match, we will be facing the Onyx Academy,” Selene announced with a mix of excitement and intensity, allowing the information to sink in for everyone present.
