The Golem Mage

602: Don’t Mess With The Gordons clan 602: Don’t Mess With The Gordons clan “Tell me, truly, are you confident that you will be able to discipline Alec once he returns home?

His breakthroughs through realms have been happening at an astonishing pace, I even have a feeling that by the time you see him again, you both might be in the same realm,” the Grand Elder said to the patriarch.

They were both observing the battle between the War God Academy and the Vajra Academy team alongside the other elders of the Clan available and wasn’t in seclusion.

The Grand Elder attempted to tease the patriarch, but he remained steadfast, refusing to be swayed by the taunts.

Suddenly, the patriarch exclaimed, “*Ahhh!*”, witnessing Alec’s unexpected victory over Bodhi, a round the patriarch initially believed Alec would lose.

“Tell me, George, what type of grandfather are you?

Are you rooting for your grandson to win, or are you secretly awaiting his defeat?” questioned the Grand Elder, prompting the patriarch to finally respond.

“Hey, don’t call me by my name, Call me patriarch, we both know how much I want that boy to experience defeat, to knock the smugness right out of him, I believe he can only soar higher after tasting true defeat,” the patriarch asserted.

“And at the beginning of this competition, I thought it might finally happen, but as each match progressed, it became clear that it might not come anytime soon.”

“ Just look at how he had been in that fight with the Omar boy, battered and yet he still managed to come out in top condition,” the patriarch of the Gordons clan lamented, as the rest of the elders stayed fixated on the display on the wall showing the ongoing fight as they were tired of the Patriarch’s conflicting interest

“But seriously, you have to come to terms with what you truly want.

You claim you want him to lose, yet even when that Omar boy was relentlessly attacking him, you were the one complaining about how he was being treated unfairly and was not being treated since something was clearly wrong with him,” the third elder jestingly remarked, poking fun at the patriarch’s conflicted desires.

However, the patriarch remained silent, as he was unable to come up with a suitable response to the third elder’s remarks.

Deep down, he truly wished for Alec to win, but there was also a part of him that yearned for his grandson to experience defeat.

As he believed that such a loss would ignite a fire within Alec, fuelling his determination and make him strive to become stronger.

Throughout Alec’s cultivation journey, the patriarch had perceived him as a mage who often neglected his cultivation.

Even now, the patriarch was left pondering how Alec had managed to advance through realms so rapidly when he knew him as a lazy fellow.

But despite making numerous comments about wanting Alec to lose, his brothers sitting with him understood the patriarch’s true sentiments.

They knew that deep down, he was incredibly proud of Alec and his accomplishments.

The fact was that Alec had surpassed all expectations, even when considering his direct bloodline connection to the Gordons and the ancient Blaze Clan, and this instilled a sense of astonishment in them.

Their clan’s lack of resources had led them to anticipate more moderate progress for the younger generations, as they were incapable of nurturing talent as swiftly as the High Tier and Ancient Tier clans does.

Just as the patriarch was still enjoying a sense of contentment while watching Alec fight, the ground in the middle of the room collapsed beneath them, revealing an earth golem constructed entirely of black stone rising from the depths.

Instantly, the expressions of everyone present underwent a drastic change when they saw the golem.

“There are intruders in the Gordons Grounds, they have infiltrated with stealth, masking their mana aura, however, I have determined that they are all Tier 7 mages based on the speed of their advancement,” the black rock golem announced.

The faces of the Gordons elders shifted once more, but this time due to the arrival of the unexpected threat.

The black golem, not linked to any of them personally, but actually functioned just like an artificial intelligence entity connected to the entire Gordons Castle.

This particular golem was unfamiliar to most of the Gordons clansmen.

So it could be seen why the workers who had betrayed the clan were unable to inform the invaders about the golem’s existence.

“How many of them have breached the clan’s invisible boundaries?” the grand elder questioned, seeking crucial information before the patriarch could take action against the invaders.

“Approximately ten of them have made it through, however, I cannot determine if others are still hiding outside of my perception zone, as my barrier only detects anything that crosses it,” the golem explained.

Boom!

As the golem finished its explanation, it opened its right hand, projecting an image that depicted the destruction unfolding in the first ring of the Gordons Clan houses.

“They have even started attacking our clansmen.

I’ll make sure to deal with these invaders,” declared the Patriarch as he rose from his seat, determination etched across his face.

“But how have they been able to attack without us hearing anything?

Even if others couldn’t hear, shouldn’t I have sensed something?” the grand elder inquired of the Golem spirit, seeking an explanation about the unexpected silence despite attacks ongoing in the clan.

“That is simple, firstly, they came equipped with sound-cancelling devices to nullify all audible noises, but even with those devices, you should have been able to pick up some sounds, considering you are a sound mage and all”

“However, the reason you haven’t is because they also have a highly skilled sound mage with them, with two countermeasures in place, they are effectively cancelling out any sound that would alert you,” elucidated the Golem spirit of the Gordons Castle.

“They have prepared meticulously, aiming to catch the Gordons Clan off guard; fortunately, their plan didn’t account for my existence.”

“ Leveraging these variables, I can confirm that there is a traitor among the recent batch of individuals assigned to the house,” the golem spirit of the castle concluded, shedding light on a crucial revelation.

“Grand Elder, you will handle our internal matters while we deal with these intruders, because we cannot resolve our external problems without first addressing what’s happening within,” declared the patriarch, rallying the group to take action.

However, as Draco attempted to join them, the patriarch shook his head and spoke firmly,

“No, focus on rescuing anyone in need of help, we will handle the invaders, as it seems they have forgotten that the Gordons clan are not to be messed with.” The Patriarch said with a determined gaze, as his eyes revealed two distinct colours, reflecting his unwavering resolve.
