611: Last Moves.

“Alec!!!”

The resounding cheers of Alec’s name, shook the entire venue called the Grand Arena, after he emerged victorious against Yama.

Despite the considerable fan base that the Vajra Academy boasted and the support from fans from the other esteemed academies of the Great Eight, they found themselves unable to muster a single voice to argue or jeer at Alec’s victory.

They knew that this triumph had propelled the War God Academy team one step closer to overall success.

Thus, the spectators could only watch in awe as the rest of the crowd erupted into thunderous applause, celebrating Alec’s hard-won victory.

The referee turned to Yama and shook his head in a mix of disappointment and relief.

“You should be grateful that Alec pulled back at the last moment, because if this battle had taken place in the wilderness with just you and him, you would have been killed.”

“He could have directed any of those flaming blades to strike critical areas, but he deliberately restrained his attacks,” the referee explained, as Yama glared at him with bloodshot eyes for his statement.

“And yet, he still ensured to sever every joint in Yama’s arms and legs, rendering him confined to bed, which means the battle is over for Yama and he won’t be able to lead his team compete in the position of the lower eight, this only adds further disgrace to Yama’s wounded pride,” the monk who is accompanying the Vajra Academy medic mages chimed in.

As the medic Mage team finally reached Yama’s location, they channelled their accumulated mana towards him, as they gently lifted him, carefully removing him from the battle ring.

Once Yama had been safely brought off the stage, the referee was compelled to redirect his attention back to Alec.

With a sense of unease, he posed the same question he had asked after the previous three rounds, understanding that regardless of Alec’s response, he was already crowned the ultimate victor of this match.

“Will you continue the next fight, or will you step off the battle ring and let someone else from your team take over?” The referee finally posed the question, and the audience fell into a hushed silence, eagerly awaiting Alec’s decision.

They were curious to see if Alec would single-handedly take down the entire squad from the Vajra Academy, thereby creating a legendary feat.

However, just as Alec was about to respond, he sensed a presence entering his mental field despite there being no one physically near him.

Frustrated, he turned in a complete circle, but still, there was no one in sight.

However, just as he was growing increasingly alert, a voice resounded in his mind, reminiscent of how he communicated with his system spirit.

“Alec!” the voice called, causing confusion within him as he felt familiar with that voice.

“Dean?” Alec questioned, using his mental energy to respond back, still unsure of what was happening and needing to confirm if it truly was his Dean speaking to him telepathically.

“I suspected that your mental abilities were not ordinary, thank the gods that they have developed further, i need you to step down from the battle ring.”

“ No matter what happens, you must not defeat the last member of the Vajra Academy team,” the Dean’s voice echoed, urging Alec to comply.

However, Alec was not convinced and couldn’t understand why the Dean would request such an action.

As he planned to turn his gaze towards the VIP section, he caught sight of Selene, who was subtly signalling for him to come down from the battle ring.

Seeing her expression, Alec no longer harboured any doubts about the request, realizing that it was indeed the Dean who had instructed him to step down.

Although Alec remained unsure of the reason why they were insistent on him stepping down, but he decided to comply and follow their lead.

“I will step down and allow another team member to continue in my place!” Alec announced as the crowd went into another frenzy cheers again as they clapped for him.

“ Emmr!

“ The referee, who had expected Alec to carry on, couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise upon hearing Alec’s decision.

He never anticipated that Alec would actually step down from the stage.

However, reflecting on how Alec had defeated everyone except one member of the Vajra Academy, the referee began to comprehend that Alec might be willingly leaving the stage to give his teammate a chance to enjoy the match under the unique circumstances that brought him onto the stage.

Alec walked slowly towards the War God Academy stands as he wave towards his frenzy fans in the stands, while also feeling the aches and pains throbbing throughout his body.

While he had being on the battle ring, he had believed he could push through, but after stepping down and losing that battle momentum, the consequences and aftermath of his actions came crashing down upon him.

The lingering effects of the flame aura he had casted on himself made him feel as though his flesh were burning, even though there was no visible evidence of it occurring.

It was merely a sensation, and now he realized that no sane mage would risk using their own body as a testing ground for such a spell theory in the middle of a fight.

“And here I was expecting someone from the team to at least bring me back in some flashy levitating mana ride like Yama got,” Alec joked, slumping in his chair.

Selene couldn’t help but snicker and playfully slap his head in response.

“And you still have the nerve to speak after the stunt you just pulled!

Crazy!

You could have had an easier match, if you just summoned your golems, you better thank your lucky stars you won, of now I would have beaten you to a pulp myself” Selene shouted at Alec, tossing him another uniform for him to use cover his naked upper body.

Though some of his teammates were curious to asked about his demonic beast tattoo but they didn’t asked anything at the moment.

“Let me have one of the competition medics check you for any hidden damage!” Instructor Phil suggested.

“There won’t be any need for that,” Alec replied, reaching into his space ring and retrieving a bottle.

He swiftly popped a healing pill into his mouth, closed his eyes, and prepare to enter a meditative state to aid his recovery.

Jasper and Phil couldn’t help but gaze at Alec’s stash of healing pills with covetous eyes.

“Now, Beatrice, it’s your turn to fight the next round!” Jasper commanded, seeing that the last member of the Vajra Academy team was stepping onto the stage, but Alec’s eyes suddenly shot open after his statement.

“No, she won’t be fighting next.

Lucas will be taking her place!” Alec asserted, his words causing an invisible pressure to descend upon the stand they were on, everyone felt it, because the atmosphere grew tense after Alec spoke.

“What are you trying to do?

Do you want to ruin everything you’ve worked for?

I’m just trying to bring the match to a close and end it now!” Instructor Jasper seethed with gritted teeth.

As he was frustrated with Alec’s interference, feeling that his decisions were being challenged over and over again.

“That’s even more reason why Lucas should be on that stage.

Whether you believe it or not, he has what it takes to put an end to this match.”

“ We can’t afford to give the impression that the War God Academy can’t handle other teams without the captain or vice captain present,” Alec calmly explained, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the team’s credibility.

“Since this is something Lucas can deal with, let him take the stage, If he loses, it’ll be a valuable learning experience for him, next, we’ll send in Pale, and only if those two even lose, will we consider sending out Beatrice.”

“ Right now, we have the advantage, and we should capitalize on it, if Lucas can’t secure a victory, he will at least drain the opponent’s mana, making it an easier win for whoever goes out next,” Alec explained, laying out his strategic plan.

With his explanation complete, he closed his eyes once again, entering a meditative state as he focused on healing his internal injuries that might pose problems later on.
