635: Onyx Vs War God 2.

As Alec advanced, he intentionally left his golems behind instead of bringing them along, hoping that the Onyx Academy team would be defeated quickly.

This was all because the Onyx Academy squad had gained the upper hand after the initial clashes and had been pushing the War God Academy team back.

However, once Alec drifted toward their captain, Dorian, on the other side of the battlefield the members of Onyx exchanged knowing glances.

They understood that after casting the Undead Horde spell, Dorian would be in a weakened state.

Typically, Dorian wouldn’t strain himself to such an extent; he always ensured he had enough mana in reserve for subsequent moves.

Yet he had done something different in this match, given the sheer number of undead creatures on the battlefield, it was clear to anyone watching that despite the rumours about Onyx Academy claiming War God Academy would be easily defeated, their captain was going all out from the beginning not even underestimating their opponents.

“I’ll go after him to prevent any disruption to the captain’s casting; cover for me,” Kael who was facing Pale Zero said, with a swift movement, he swiped his arm, unleashing a demonic claw that emitted dark smoke toward Pale.

In response, Pale clapped his hands together, generating a frozen shockwave.

But his spell lacked the necessary power, and the black claw tore through Pale’s attack, forcing him to retreat a step, in order to escape the Claw range.

But as he raised his gaze, he realized that Kael had abandoned their clash and was dashing toward Alec from behind.

Pale kicked off the ground, attempting to rush after him to stop his advance, but just as he moved, another figure blocked his path.

“Your opponent will be me!” Draven declared, holding dual swords pointed downward as he locked eyes with Pale.

Pale, frustrated, glanced over at Lucas in surprise.

“Why have you let your opponent disrupt the plan and balance?” Pale snapped, his frustration evident.

He had messed up his own engagement with Kael, and now he felt the weight of failing Alec’s strategy in his shoulders.

“It’s not easy fighting him alone!

Less talking, help me subdue him quickly!” Lucas replied, his body flashing with blue tattoos as his longsword transformed into a glaive.

He twisted mid-air as his spirit equipment set covered him, he struck down unleashing a fierce combination of wind and lightning.

Bang!

Lucas’s powerful strike forced Draven backward, his legs digging into the ground as he struggled to absorb the blow.

Just as Draven was regaining his footing, Pale had dashed forward, hands behind his back, ready to capitalize on Lucas’s attack.

Draven seeing him from the corner of his eyes, also charged to meet him head-on, slamming his shoulder into Pale, who braced himself by crossing his arms.

The impact sent Pale back, as he slid backwards he left the ground covered in frost, but as he lifted his head, a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

Draven’s right hand was weighed down by his weapon that suddenly got heavier, forcing him to look at his sword in surprise.

He realized the center of the blade was encased in black ice, he slowly grunted as he was aware that he wouldn’t be able to lift the weapon for the next few minutes,

Causing Draven to abandon the sword, knowing the ice’s effect would render his sword heavy and affect his speed, which made it useless for the time being.

After Pale had demonstrated the black ice ability in his previous battle against Liam, other teams had scrambled to study the ice attribute, recognizing how dangerous and tricky it was.

Yet, despite their research, no effective countermeasure had been found.

All those who researched Pale’s ice ability concluded that anyone fighting against him should never allow the black ice to attach itself to them.

And if it latched onto any equipment of theirs, they were advised to abandon it immediately before it led to their elimination.

This was why Draven let go of the sword in his right hand, transferring the blade on his left hand to his right as he swung to counter Lucas, who had closed in and was attacking him with a horizontal swing of his glaive.

Sparks ignited where their weapons clashed, and it seemed Lucas was about to overpower him after the augmentation from his spirit equipment set, then, Draven did something shocking.

“No matter how much physical strength you have, your mana pool will never be as refined as mine, I still surpass you in realm, let me show you my power!”
