617: Back To The Jungle 2-3.

Alec had long suspected that by visualizing a specific beast in his mind, as long as that beast resided within the beast forest, he would be dropped off close to it or, at the very least, right in front of it.

However He had once found himself in an unfortunate situation, dropped amidst a pack of Shadow Wolves, when he thought about it before entering the Beast forest door.

In that perilous moment, Alec had been solely focused on escaping the gaping jaws of the Alpha Shadow Wolf, giving him little opportunity to contemplate the decision that had led to his predicament.

However, since that incident, Alec had deeply pondered about the matter, because whenever he entered the beast forest with a clear mind, he found himself transported to random locations, encountering a variety of different demonic beasts each time.

And Alec knew that if he had to face unpredictable beasts every day, it would hinder his progress in evolving his Devourer Bloodline beasts.

And he firmly believed that the beast forest would not leave him in such a helpless situation, seeing its connection to the Devourer Bloodline.

Because as a financially strained individual, he was lacking substantial support from the Gordons clan, Alec couldn’t even afford to purchase a single soul of the Golden Horned Drake in the real world, let alone the many souls he would need to completely revive the creature soul back to its original Tier 6 realm, it was an insurmountable challenge for someone in his position.

With all this in mind, it was why Alec was determined to dive straight into the beast forest, holding the image of the Golden Horned Drake in his thoughts.

As he hoped that with him successful conjuring of the Beast soul as part of his bloodline, he would be able to locate the similar beast within the forest.

–

And this is what really sparked the immense excitement showing on his face.

Cause not only had he validated his theory, but he also saw a new opportunity to grow stronger at a faster pace using this method.

A deafening roar erupted from the Golden Horned Drake, sending shockwaves in every direction.

Alec instinctively braced himself, expecting another forceful expulsion, however, to his surprise, he quickly realized that the cunning beast wasn’t attacking him, instead, it was summoning reinforcements.

As the sound waves passed harmlessly by, Alec detected the vibrations within them, confirming that the beast before him was calling for backup.

This caught Alec off guard, as he was not prepared to face additional adversaries just yet.

“Kill him!

Now!” Alec commanded confidently, feeling incredibly fortunate to encounter a low Tier 5 Golden Horned Drake in his initial trial.

Had it been a Tier 6 or peak Tier 5 Golden Horned Drake he met, Alec would have quickly made his escape, hoping to vanish without much chase, as he can’t outrun a beast of that level.

However, believing he had a chance to defeat this particular beast, Alec was determined not to let it slip away his fingers.

He was prepared to hunt it down before its minions could come to its aid.

To execute his strategy, Alec divided his golems into two groups, some remained with him for perimeter defence, while he selected a few that would lead the attack against the Drake.

Legion, Titan, Butcher, and Oni swiftly encircled the Golden Horned Drake, while the Mage Hunter Golem positioned itself slightly behind the group, mirroring Alec’s stance.

Following Alec’s order, Butcher, being the quickest, was the first to move.

Crackling with lightning, he disappeared from his previous position and swiftly reappeared above the Golden Horned Drake, bringing his axe down in a powerful swing toward the creature’s head.

“Bad idea!” grumbled Titan in response.

Before the electrified axe could make contact, a blinding golden light burst forth from the Drake’s horn.

With incredible speed, the light slammed directly into Tempest Butcher’s chest, sending him hurtling even faster than before.

Butcher’s fate served as a stark warning to the rest of the team, who were already closing in on the Drake.

Bang!!

Alec’s mouth hung open in shock as he watched the Drake effortlessly swat away Oni and Legion with a single strike of its tail.

It was a profound moment of disrespect endured by his team of golems, something Alec had never witnessed before.

Although Alec was aware of the swift and formidable nature of the demonic beasts within the beast forest, but he also knew that his golems were not inexperienced themselves.

He observed as Titan held on to the tail that had been swiped at him, but it appeared that Titan was slowly being overpowered also.

“Ahhh!” Titan shouted in response, and to Alec’s amazement, Titan began to grow in size, enlarging once again as his smaller form proved inadequate to resist the strength of the Drake.

“It’s because the Drake possesses a lesser dragon bloodline,” the system spirit golem pointed out.

“Hmm!” Alec exclaimed, realizing that when he summoned all the golems, the system spirit golem must have had the chance to come out, because now it also now had the ability to manifest its form in the void space.

It was a new discovery for Alec, as the amulet had gradually started accepting the system slowly, enabling new abilities that were restricted before.

Directing his focus back to the fight, Alec witnessed Titan regaining his former size, but more perfect looking body as it was still in a humanoid form.

With ease, Titan swung the Drake’s body, forcefully slamming it against a nearby rock and causing another resounding noise.

At that moment, even the beasts a little far away from that surrounding area became aware that a big battle was underway.

The beasts, particularly those affiliated with the Golden Horned Drake, attempted to breach the line of defence created by Alec’s golems and their minions.

However, they were met with the full force of the golem army, staunchly defending their position.

Meanwhile, another set of beast groups awaited the outcome of the clash between Alec’s golem army and the Golden Horned Drake’s minions, hoping to take advantage of any opportunities that arose.

Alec had learned a valuable lesson through his encounters in the beast forest and that was that all Tier 5 demonic beasts in the second level of the Beast Forest acted as mini-bosses, accompanied by other subordinate beasts.

On the other hand, the Tier 6 demonic beasts served as the main bosses, commanding sub Tier 5 demonic beasts as their generals.

Alec referred to the Tier 6 demonic beasts as “generals” because they were always accompanied by their own armies, as each Tier 5 under them had minions.

This was precisely why Alec had not yet attempted to confront a Tier 6 demonic beast, because not only did they possess Tier 7 battle power, but it would be akin to waging a full-scale war to take on any one of them.

His only stroke of luck would be to come across a rogue tier 6 beast that operated alone, or one that had strayed from its usual territory.

However, for the time being, Alec remained focused on swiftly defeating the golden horned Drake before him.

He weighed the options of whether to personally intervene or let his golems handle the battle while he conserved his mana.

—

The clash between Titan and the Drake became increasingly chaotic, as Titan relentlessly delivered powerful blows to the Drake’s body with his reinforced ice fists, which had spiked knuckles.

With each strike, the spikes shattered upon impact against the Drake’s hard scales, but Titan’s attacks continued to inflict significant damage.

Before his fist could even pull back, Titan would conjure another set of spikes, never relenting in his assault.

Alec observed as Titan abandoned all defensive measures, attacking with unwavering determination, his eyes blazing red.

It seemed as though the tail, claw and bite that had been delivered on his body was failing to hinder his relentless onslaught.

“How much longer, newbie?” Titan shouted, startling Alec.

“Now!” a metallic voice sounded behind Alec.

In the next instant, he watched as Titan swiftly closed the distance to the Drake and wrapped his hand around its neck.

Before exerting all his strength, Titan lifted the Drake into the air, exposing its vulnerable underbelly.

A slick sound followed as the Mage Hunter Golem’s left hand, equipped with a metallic hook, swiftly flew through the air with immense speed, the hook burst into the heart region of the Drake upon impact.

Causing the Drake’s blood to cascade down onto Titan’s icy body, he exerted a forceful pull, successfully yanking the heart of the Drake from its chest.

As Alec observed with amazement as the metallic hook swiftly returned to its original position, securely holding the yanked heart in its grip.

“Target eliminated,” Hunter announced, and Alec’s ears were filled with the sound of numerous notification noises from the system.

However, he paid little attention to them at that moment, because they were surrounded and had no way out except inside the caves.

As Titan tossed the Drake’s lifeless body to the ground, it was immediately swallowed up by the earth.

“And here I was hoping I could remain behind the scenes,” Alec complained, frustrated by the increasingly frantic behaviour of the demonic beasts that now attacked their line of defence with even greater ferocity after the Drake’s death.

But that wasn’t the end of their challenges.

With the Drake’s demise, the neutral beasts in the vicinity began to stir, now targeting Alec and his group.

“You all better prepare to meet your end!” Alec declared, his hair transforming into a fiery crimson.

Finally, he allowed his excitement to consume him, he let go of both of his weapons.

However, before the weapons could even touch the ground, fiery chains manifested from Alec’s hands, wrapping tightly around the Changdao and the Bone Katana.

At this moment, Alec’s killing intent surged forth, having discovered a way to tap into his blood killing intent at will.

He no longer needed the Changdao as a medium, but his demeanour becomes slightly more wild when his hair turned red.

With a swift motion, Alec’s leg propelled himself with an earth pillar from the ground, which launched him into the air.

As he spiralled through the sky, the flaming chains dragged his weapons along with him, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
