Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 631: Chapter 162: Foundation

The wolf is here!

The brain-machine developers all wore serious expressions.

They didn’t lack money.

An organization capable of participating in corporate wars could not possibly lack money.

But they were very short on their own ’basic technology’, and they had no intention of handing it over to outsiders.

Gao Gong smiled at these people, no longer feigning ignorance, and calmly said:

”Ladies and gentlemen, as a mercenary group in this war, we are employed by the Holy Brain Group, which is situated in the Northern Hemisphere and currently ranks number one.”

”Let’s be straightforward, we are indifferent to the fate of the Southern Hemisphere corporations, and we would even like to see you fight to the finish, the more intense the better.”

”This way, once the Holy Brain Group completes its brain-machine deployment in the Northern Hemisphere, it will sweep the Southern Hemisphere with unstoppable force and become the final winner of this corporate war.”

”However, if you let the Vinos Life Safety Group go unchecked, it will become your biggest stumbling block in this corporate war,” a brain-machine developer said loudly.

”Yes, I don’t exclude that possibility,” Gao Gong nodded in acknowledgment: ”But you have to understand one thing, in past corporate wars, no winner has been able to take it all; compromise, collaboration, mutual stockholding, forming a trust group to monopolize the market, is something highly probable.”

”Indeed, the ’Biochemical Brain Machine’ is very powerful and unsolvable. If not suppressed from the start and once the ’Brain-Machine Virus’ spreads globally, it is almost unsolvable.”

”But you must also understand, it’s a biological-sided brain-machine transformation technology, and there is the possibility of collaboration with the Holy Brain Group, at worst compromising and sharing the half loss. However, mechanical transformation and biological transformation are deadly enemies, irreconcilable.”

The crowd fell silent, acknowledging that there was indeed a possibility of compromise between similar technological routes.

”According to your statement, isn’t collaborating with us betraying the ’Holy Brain Group’s’ interests,” another person said.

Gao Gong laughed and said:

”We are military contractors, a mercenary group, striving for the greatest benefit within the bounds of the contract, isn’t this normal.”

The crowd once again was speechless, not to mention in corporate wars, it’s common for mercenary enterprises and military contractors to turn against each other over interests.

”Perhaps, we can provide help in another form, such as equipment, weapons, or even the commanding rights of our Corporate Security Department?” another person suggested with a gleam in their eyes.

Gao Gong shook his head, ”No one’s a fool here, fighting against the ’Vinos Life Safety Group’ means going all out. Banking on little favors and expecting us to go all out against them, why not just follow behind Ms. Ye and win effortlessly.”

The crowd was speechless.

They not only had strength but also a way out, they could simply leave without being swayed by threats or inducements, how frustrating.

Seeing the atmosphere cool down, Gao Gong grinned and said:

”In that case, I have another proposal for everyone to consider.”

”All the groups present can jointly establish a research foundation, using 50 billion Mechanical Coins as the first batch of research funds for basic technology development.”

”Moreover, every person here, including myself, must contribute one type of ’basic technology’ for dual funding.”

”Members joining the foundation will share technology, research findings, with equal voting rights, but I must have a veto power to ensure the foundation’s general research direction is correct.”

”As the founder of the foundation, I’ll be responsible for dealing with the ’Biochemical Brain Machine’, and in the future, the Du Gao Group will handle the foundation’s security, how about that?”

The brain-machine developers were stunned, not expecting such a proposal from him.

In the Cyber Test Field, super corporations were like semi-governing bodies, with executives enjoying superior welfare and social status.

But the cost was substantial, facing ruthless competition, and if corporate development faltered, personal lives could be sacrificed to the Corporate Will.

In such a brutal commercial battle, the ’international research organizations’ of peacetime simply had no market, commercial spies could easily ruin the organization’s technological achievements.

In the Cyber Test Field, the atmosphere for commercial espionage was intense.

Joint development sounds nice, but why not just seize it directly!

However, under the grand threat of the ’Biochemical Brain Machine’, collaboration may be possible.

Moreover, to put it another way, if one contributes some ’basic technology’, sharing other ’basic technologies’ seems quite advantageous.

As for future conditions, they can be dealt with later.

”I need to report to my superiors.”

”I have to discuss with my partners.”

”I need to have my artificial intelligence calculate the probabilities.”

”I need to go poop.”

...

Soon, one after another, the projections dimmed, leaving the conference room empty, with not a single figure in sight.

”Boss, why are you doing this?” The Host Brain hesitated, unable to resist asking.

Of course, because I’m exhausted doing tasks on my own.

With the three civilization systems, a conservative estimate would put the ’Professional Knowledge Chain’ at around 15 chains.

Conservatively, each Professional Knowledge Chain contains 8 pieces of professional knowledge.

15*8=120

Gao Gong’s current exhaustion from both working alone and relying on a rich lady hasn’t even covered half.

Yet the plot is already more than halfway through.

Relying on myself doesn’t work, so I have to rely on others.

But first of all, I can’t rely on the players.

At this stage, if players can create skills and forge equipment, that is quite remarkable. As for developing ’Professional Knowledge’, forget it, they probably don’t even know it exists.

If you can’t profit from the players, I can only profit from the NPCs.

However, the NPCs who possess ’basic knowledge’ are treasures in any faction, whether it’s chief scientists, biological experts, or advanced weapons developers, and they are under heavy security, even if Gao Gong takes action, it’s not certain he can capture them all.

Not to mention the NPCs probably have ’self-destruct chips’, ’corporate-level confidentiality contracts’, ’memory erasure software’, and so on installed.

Capturing them may not even be useful.

Therefore, taking a big cut of the resources during this rare opportunity is the behavior of a smart person.

Likewise, achieving the predetermined goal in the corporate war definitely requires relying on these big corporations.

Soon, one projection came online.

Then another.

And another.

...

Half an hour later, a total of 33 corporate representatives were online, waiting a moment longer, and still, no additional persons came online.

”It seems everyone agrees with this approach?” Gao Gong asked with a smile.

The crowd looked at each other with various expressions but no words.

Until a representative from a brain-machine developer solemnly said:

”Mr. G, we agree to your request in principle, but we have a condition too...”

The condition was simple, the foundation could be established, but in two steps.

First, the funds could be placed to support Du Gao Technology in its fight against the Vinos Life Safety Group.

And only after Du Gao Technology resolves the ’Biochemical Brain Machine’, the technical data would be introduced.

Seeing Gao Gong’s half-smiling expression, for some reason, the developer inexplicably felt a chill down their spine.

He continued bravely:

”Of course, your group need not worry about us not acting according to the contract, during the corporate war period, all official contracts are held accountable by the Mother City. We can sign three contracts and submit them to three Mother Cities for filing, ensuring nothing goes wrong.”

Gao Gong fell silent, remaining silent until the others felt slightly uneasy, then nodded:

”Agreed.”

No one could discern anything from his expression.

A moment later, the conference room was peaceful again as Gao Gong finally spoke:

”As for contract signing and filing, I’ll find someone to handle it, but you need to oversee it to ensure no issues arise.”

The Host Brain nodded vigorously, then asked:

”Boss, when should we bring the group’s main force from the Northern Hemisphere?”

”Bring them over, why bring them over?” Gao Gong asked surprised.

”Without bringing them over, how will we deal with the Vinos Life Safety Group?”

”It’s about quality, not quantity.”

”Uh, can I ask how many elites you plan to dispatch to handle this ’Biochemical Brain Machine’?”

Gao Gong pointed to the opposite party and then himself:

”You, one, me, one.”

”And who else?”

”No one else.”

At that moment, numerous forms of profanity rushed through the Host Brain’s mind.
