Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 601: Chapter 132: Descent Faction’s Planet Task

Information monsters are an extremely peculiar existence; the higher the tier, the stranger they become.

The reason is simple: all information monsters do not possess a physical form, and some do not even have a ’self.’

More terrifyingly, their rate of spread surpasses any known biological cancer, so high-tier informational creatures are also called ’information cancer.’

To put it this way, if the Memory Mother did indeed descend during the first Mechanical War, then now, everyone on this planet, even the most powerful Planet Host, has been polluted.

And Gao Gong himself would inevitably be contaminated.

If that were really the case, he might as well abandon any hopes of reversing the plot, completing the main quest, or even collecting relics; he should flee immediately, gather the rich ladies, board a spaceship, and escape as far as possible.

Mechanical Split Star is beyond saving, it’s time for destruction.

Even he himself may not be rescued because, in the Information Ocean, there is a logic that any entity contaminated must be resolved by a ’information monster’ of the same tier.

For instance, to resolve special relativity, you can only bring out general relativity if both have become entities.

In a sense, high-tier ’information monsters’ have become no different from physical laws, more troublesome as they are not like laws but a collection of peculiar, polluted fragments of the laws, which even the most brilliant scientists cannot decipher.

At the peak of his power, with a casual wave, he could transform an entire planet’s species into beautiful girls; he knew deeply the might of such power.

Fortunately, until this segment of memory code was sealed, the Memory Mother did not have a stress reaction, giving Gao Gong a huge sigh of relief.

This at least indicated that the Memory Worm had not fully invaded this planet and merely passed by 60 years ago, cultivating some ’sub-bodies.’

This seems to explain one thing, which is why the Xiao Family has been loyal for generations, and why Xiao Yuanjun, a direct bloodline of the Black Prince, chose to betray.

The reason is simple; just as the Virtual Sovereign of the previous life could freely transform beautiful girls, the Memory Mother can also drastically change a person’s nature, a transformation that can bypass all detection equipment and even escape the person’s self-awareness, explaining the betrayal of the Empire, allegiance to the Mother City, and the Wudu Coup.

Could it be that Arasaka is in a similar situation?

Considering the old man’s age, he must have experienced World War II, which is highly possible!

So this implies that besides the Mother City and the Rebel Army, the Giant Corporation, and the Cloud Nobility, a fifth hidden force on this planet emerged.

That is the polluters of the Memory Worm.

Arasaka, Xiao Yuanjun, and several sages in the Digital Realm are most likely polluters.

I wondered how this cosmic monster, Memory Worm, descended so smoothly, and the Mother City did not respond at all. It turns out there’s actually a Descent Faction!

[Hidden task completed, reward experience +500,000, Aramaki affection +2000, current relationship: friendly]

’Ding——’

[Player triggered planet task [Descent Faction——Polluters Removal], choose to accept or not]

[Accept]

[Planet Task: Descent Faction——Polluters Removal]

Difficulty: Tier 2 - Nightmare

Task Brief: The emergence of the fifth force makes you realize that the descent of the cosmic monster is inevitable. Although unavoidable, you can reduce the power of the Descent Faction, disrupting the cosmic monster’s descent state to buy more time for this planet.

Task Target: Destroy a Descent Faction force (quantity unlimited)

Task Reward: Experience +5,000,000, Specialization Points*10, a random Tier 3 Blueprint, Planet Reputation +1, Historical Line Change +1%

This is the second planet task Gao Gong received, the previous one being subduing Destruction Energy; according to this task, it seems more like a chain task.

Because the forces of the descenders are certainly more than one!

...

Gao Gong exploded a hidden task, a planet task from Xiao Yuanjun, yielding considerable rewards, but this Legion Commander is now in a quite poor state.

Once the Golden Rule exchange ended, the majority woke from the shock of the Virtual Realm, only then discovering that the boss of the Fortress Legion, Patriarch Xiao, was barely clinging to life, entrapped within a levitating giant sphere formed of Memory Metal, as a bloody beam relentlessly devastated his body.

Though the beam was silk thread thin, it pierced all of Cybertron, traversing from one end of the satellite to the other, crossing stars, conveying a sense of solemnity, fear, and terror.

While the Memory Metal didn’t harm Xiao Yuanjun, the beam dissolved his Bio-Fusion Armor into shreds.

Gao Gong recognized this, every Mother City, or perhaps every Planet Host, has its own unique Planet-level Firewall, their greatest shield; among them, the Fortress’ firewall is the Colorless Fire, Gao Gong saw it in Database 0, whereas the Deep Net’s firewall is called the Wall of Code, Gao Gong hasn’t seen it, but to legendary hackers, it’s like Mount Everest, an utter enigma without any record of anyone ever breaching it, even folklore lacks mention.

However, Cybertron’s firewall, known as the War Light, is the slender line before us.

Although among the three Mother Cities, General Cybertron is the most arrogant and frequently appearing, surprisingly, its firewall’s effects are scarcely known.

The Fortress firewall annihilates all viruses, suppressing the Virus Library 0 for nearly a century, the Deep Net firewall is an insurmountable wall for all hackers, yet General Cybertron seems never to have employed its firewall; even the Six Ministries know little about its capabilities.

But now, at least they learned one thing: the ’War Light’ possesses extreme destructiveness toward carbon-based life forms.

In mere minutes, the top-tier Bio-Fusion Armor, with a defense rating of at least 100,000, was 90% incinerated.

When Lord Celestis shut down the firewall and let him down, this 60-level faction strongman was already in a semi-conscious state.

The Fortress party undoubtedly entered a rage state.

Lord Celestis hurriedly apologized with a guilty face, immediately dispatching a probe, and the conclusion surprisingly affirms that this Legion Commander attempted to hack into Cybertron’s core database, provoking a weapon system counterattack, with ample data records demonstrating this.

At this, Cybertron Robots couldn’t sit still, roaring louder, raising their laser cannons.

This Autobots Faction leader is caught between the two, trying to mediate frantically.

And Gao Gong and company stood silently aside, suppressing smiles, gleaming eyes, secretly chanting, fight! fight!

As Gao Gong bolstered both sides, a tiny mechanical man, less than a palm-sized object, somehow appeared on the scene, scanning with its electronic eye, its visual display locked onto Gao, silently amping up the volume and switching to ’deep emotion mode,’ then — it lunged forward.

”Daddy!! You finally came to get me!!!”

The scene instantly fell silent.

Gao Gong looked at the ’Little Wasp’ clinging to his ankle, while the surrounding Cybertron Robots stared bemusedly.
