Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 627: Chapter 158: Raven and the Girl

It wasn’t an exaggerated battle.

Facing these two super mercenaries from Marubeni Technology.

Xiao Yu chose to lift the Ship-Slaying Sword, then cut down the enemies one by one.

It’s not that the level 50 mercenaries aren’t strong; they each have at least one boss template, and the tech weapons in their hands are all fearsome, explosive weapons.

However, when a strange black glow shone from the blade of the Ship-Slaying Sword, which then spread into a black light shield.

The two seemed to see a massive black monument rising from the ground, darkening the sky.

The outcome, naturally, held no suspense.

”Your ability still has a lot of development space, but I vaguely feel that relying on yourself alone, you might find it hard to break through.”

”Hehehe, but don’t I still have you, Little Ye?”

When the Ship-Slaying Sword clicked back into a normal saber state, Xiao Yu laughed heartily, picked her up, and snuggled her chest like a doll.

Historically, ample chests determine life and death; flat chests meet comrades.

The two shared an iron-clad friendship.

Ms. Ye struggled with a look of disdain.

”You’re a bodyguard, not a pet cat. Mind your identity.”

Ms. Ye grabbed the other’s big head, lifted her short hair, revealing her forehead. On Xiao Yu’s forehead was a black sword-shaped pattern, circling like a black crown.

”Strange, I didn’t find any backdoor software in your brain. Logically, it shouldn’t be this way,” Ms. Ye muttered to herself.

”Recently, when you dream, practice swordsmanship, or modify your mechanical body, have you experienced any anomalies?”

”No, I eat well, sleep well. Our boss said only righteous people have no distractions, which means I’m righteous!”

”People with empty brains also have no distractions,” Ms. Ye quipped.

”I think you’re the one with an empty brain!”

”You empty brain!”

”You empty brain!”

Who would have thought that a super weapon of the Holy Brain Group and the protector of the super weapon would bicker like junior high school girls?

”Alright,” Ms. Ye gave up on such childish behavior, sighing helplessly: ”Anyway, I caused your current situation. If your body has any issues in the future, inform me immediately.”

Few people knew Ms. Ye’s SS-Level superpower also had a ’special training’ ability, developing one’s brain to the limit using the minds of millions.

But no one expected this oddity to result in the end.

Even Ms. Ye was uncertain if it was due to her superpower or the other person’s body; after all, Xiao Yu was the only one who enjoyed such treatment.

”Inform your people the war is over, have them withdraw; and by the way, have Ms. Du contact me soon, I have important matters to discuss with her.”

”Oh, oh, got it,” Xiao Yu nodded cutely.

Seeing this, Ms. Ye couldn’t help but quip: ”Your Du Gao Group is really unreliable. The boss is retreating at such a crucial time. If it weren’t for the contract with you, I’d want to switch companies.”

Xiao Yu was displeased hearing that, defending her company’s reputation:

”Aunt Du is very reliable. Everyone in our company is nice. If you badmouth us again, I’ll spank you!”

Ms. Ye rolled her eyes, and before she could say anything, a holographic projection shot out from a ring on her hand, transforming into an elegant young gentleman.

Before the gentleman in a tuxedo could speak, Ms. Ye coldly interrupted, contrasting sharply with her earlier demeanor.

”Raven, I’ve warned you more than once, don’t install tracking systems on me. Are you so eager to die?”

Raven chuckled bitterly:

”Miss, as the new assistant to the president, I must have your contact information. You don’t allow me to arrange some group bodyguards for you. We have excellent Mutants; they may not match you, but on the battlefield, their superpowers are very suited to protect you.”

”Are you referring to those Tyrant guys?” Ms. Ye showed a sneer: ”How do I remember, during the early testing phase, they were dying to kill me. And now you want them to protect me, do you think they’re sincere?”

”That’s all in the past,” Raven laughed awkwardly.

Five or six years ago, the Holy Brain Group conducted a major biological experiment, dropping a group of children with S-Level potential into a large infected city, having them both evolve through infection and kill each other for survival resources.

Those who survived became excellent mutants, including her and that Tyrant.

”State your true purpose, Raven!”

Ms. Ye’s eyes turned black, and within the black pupils, countless dark eyes seemed to greedily peep, while a pitch-black hand unknowingly appeared at his throat.

Raven was shocked, knowing that after absorbing so much artificial data, her psychic ability had reached an incomprehensible level; no one could entertain the slightest notion of resistance before her.

In the past, she had infiltrated the group headquarters in an unexpected way, using spiritual control over corporate will to bypass regulatory procedures and dethroned the previous president of the Holy Brain Group, then convening and threatening all level 7 and above executives for a group vote, successfully ascending through a ’coup’.

Then, the corporate war erupted. She, even more recklessly, swept the battlefield through sheer strength, silencing all dissent.

Such actions clearly showed she was not merely a simple girl, but an experienced Hunter, deserving no underestimation.

She was strong in the past; now, she would only be stronger.

”The board wants you to return for another round of physical checks, controlling so many souls, even you—gah, cough, cough, no, don’t....”

In the holographic image, Raven’s eyes bulged, legs off the ground, throat making ’gah gah’ sounds, as the black hand had deeply sunk into his skin.

’Ms. Ye’ squinted, the black aura flowing in the slit of her eyes seemed like a demon crawling out of hell.

Then, a petite mechanical hand pinched her hand.

”Don’t kill, killing is bad!” Xiao Yu looked at her sternly.

Ms. Ye looked at her wordlessly, her eyes catching a glimpse of the street’s ruins, where two wretched corpses lay disrespectfully.

”That was killing for combat, not killing for the sake of killing. Little Ye, I can feel your mood is growing volatile, perhaps your period is coming. But I never had a period, nor have I pooped in ages; the boss won’t even install a hole for me...”

Xiao Yu got more and more outrageous, Ms. Ye’s eye twitched violently, and the black light in her eyes dissipated like a receding tide. She snorted, shaking off her hand.

”Tell the old ghosts on the board I’m in excellent condition. No need to worry, once I conquer the Northern Hemisphere, I’ll return. And don’t pull anything while I’m still on the front line; if I lose, I’ll just break away from the Holy Brain Group and go solo. What gain could those parasites hope for?”

As her words ended, the holographic screen suddenly exploded, transparent holographic fragments passing through the two women’s bodies like glass, and on Ms. Ye’s hand, a high-level Spirit Ring was crushed bare-handed.

”Alright, now are you happy? Hurry up and notify your flying device to come over. I don’t plan to ride on the Holy Brain Group’s carriers. If these old ghosts have ill intentions, I’d die without knowing why.”

Watching Xiao Yu bounce away like a child, Ms. Ye’s mouth curled slightly, yet the next moment, a blood trail suddenly appeared on her cheek, the black blood instantly engulfing half her face, a trace of pain flashing on Ms. Ye’s little face as black psychic silk threads pulled from the air, threading the needle.

Soon, a new stitched scar appeared on her face.

...

In Beehive, a room allowing multiple people to connect online, Dou was tied to a chair, electrodes attached to his temples, along with Gao Gong and the Host Brain.

On the Host Brain’s head, there were components specifically for connecting online.

”Do you know why this guy Dou didn’t make it?” Gao Gong asked, grinning.

”Because he was greedy and offended you?” the Host Brain answered cautiously.

”No, greed is a good quality in the Cyber Test Field, after all, it can also be an indicator of ambition, and that’s not the reason. In fact, even without me, this kid wouldn’t have gotten very far.”

Gao Gong chuckled menacingly:

The Host Brain’s mind swirled with countless subservient postures flashing by, internally grumbling:

Even if I knew, would I still need to work for you?
