Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 628: Chapter 159: Mechanical Brain Technology

”It’s because of the ’Consciousness Package Technology’.”

The ’Host Brain’ was momentarily stunned. What kind of explanation was this? How could such a super technology become the reason for failure?

Gao Gong didn’t keep speaking in riddles:

”What’s the core of the ’Electronic Brain Project’? To liberate computational power, allowing the technology on this planet to evolve and completely break free from the limitations of software and hardware.

And what is ’Consciousness Package Technology’? It requires consuming a large amount of computational power to ensure the storage of global memory data.

The liberated computational power, you’ve used up seventy to eighty percent yourself, so what’s the use of my liberating it?”

The ’Host Brain’ lightly sighed, thinking it was indeed true.

The Mother City could not allow the ’Consciousness Package Technology’ to be the winner in the corporate war.

If it won, it would mean a massive waste of computational power.

Gao Gong glanced sideways at the opponent:

”So, don’t say that Dou was killed by me. Even if he descended like a marauder, sweeping through the corporate battlefield, Mother City would never let him win!

So don’t think about avenging your old master, nor about secretly stealing Dou’s secrets and then going independent.

It’s impossible, just obediently work as a 007 worker for me.”

As he finished speaking, Gao Gong started connecting online and then collapsed onto the chair.

The ’Host Brain’ remained silent for a moment, and on the brain screen, sent a sighing emoticon.

What the other party said made a lot of sense, even if, retreating a thousand steps, he inherited Dou’s legacy, he could not proceed in the corporate war.

And to stay here, wouldn’t there be no way but to follow through till the end?

So he found a comfortable position to lie down, and the three of them entered the brain networking mode.

Brain networking mode is an innovative breakthrough of virtual machine technology, meaning to transcend physical pleasure and enter a more advanced level of virtual communication, abbreviated as sensory intercourse.

For example, if you want to have an affair but don’t want a physical betrayal, then this technology would be useful.

It allows you to participate in a feast that surpasses sensory stimulation without leaving any trace, and you can link to as many people as you want, even if they are not human, since you actually don’t know if they are human or not, because the other side can play any species in the virtual scenario.

However, Gao Gong, Dou, and the Host Brain aren’t connecting to engage in three guys having fun.

But because ’brain networking mode’ has another purpose: to specify a location, which means entering someone else’s brain.

Host Brain suspected that Dou’s secret was hidden in the brain, not a physical brain, but in the ’consciousness layer’.

Soon, the Host Brain and Gao Gong met in Dou’s head.

The Host Brain was no longer that peculiar person with a mainframe head in real life but turned into a cartoon character, SpongeBob.

At the same time, Gao Gong also changed shape, becoming a voluptuous beauty, her body burning hot unlike a normal person.

”...”

Host Brain cautiously said, ”Boss, you’re not really planning to have fun, are you?”

Gao Gong jiggled the ’balloons’ as large as a water tank, sighing, ”No, I’m just reminiscing about my youth.”

Gao Gong looked around and saw Dou’s stream of consciousness rushing down like an avalanche, moving at a terrifying speed but unable to form specific shapes or figures.

This was because Hacker Corps destroyed his logical system, putting him in a state of scattered consciousness.

In this state, using hacking skills would yield nothing; when someone’s computer system has crashed, how could you hack it any further?

”Where do we go next?”

The Host Brain, no, SpongeBob was ready, spit out countless bubbles, each wrapped in a circle of snowflakes, turning into crystal balls, each crystal ball embedded in the space, playing some of Dou’s memories.

”Hey hey, I’m not interested in this ’young genius, driven by a tragic childhood, strives to create a seamless world’ kind of cliché.”

”No, boss, perhaps you won’t see it.”

SpongeBob’s small hands suddenly grew tens of times larger, connecting to another crystal ball from one, lighting up each crystal ball one after another, forming a ’memory tunnel’ in this avalanche world.

Sure enough, as SpongeBob said, there was no supposed obstruction, nor any memory flashbacks like the movie version of EVA, and soon, the two reached the end.

”Hmm, this is—”

The voluptuous beauty’s expression gradually became serious, as at the end of the snow lay a steaming pool, with bubbling numbers ’gurgling’ and ’gurgling’, constantly reinforcing Dou’s personality code, forming an artificial intelligence system named ’genius’.

SpongeBob puffs out a breath of cold air, muttering to himself:

”Indeed, someone’s developed his ’Zone Zero’, which is legendary as the source of human wisdom; it indeed exists!”

Gao Gong didn’t speak but approached the pool, only to see the bottom of the pool was pitch black, vaguely revealing an extremely thick pipe, transporting ’digital hot springs’.

It seemed to sense Dou’s failure, the ’hot springs’ gradually ceased bubbling, and the pipe seemed to slowly retract inward, soon disappearing completely.

”What a powerful existence!” SpongeBob said in awe.

”Pipe Sovereign,” Gao Gong murmured. He had long figured what Mechanical Brain was. It’s hardware!

Behind the shadow curtain of the corporate war, surely there’s a big data monster as the puppeteer.

Gao Gong suddenly turned his head, looking at SpongeBob:

”Are you sincerely willing to join me?”

”Of course.”

”I need you to do things, will you do it?”

”Naturally.”

”If I need the knowledge in your brain about ’Brain Ecology’, you would also give it to me?”

SpongeBob was stunned for a moment, his eyes struggling a bit, but he nodded, ”Yes.”

Gao Gong nodded with satisfaction.

The reason he was so patient wasn’t due to some powerful background the other party had, nor because of his significant research level.

But it was because he happened to see a ’knowledge’ he really wanted in the other’s NPC panel.

”Since someone wants to do hardware during the corporate war, naturally, there are also those doing software, and even some doing sensual stuff.”

Gao Gong muttered to himself, suddenly looking up and shouting:

”I know you’re watching, Queen, do me a favor, you know what I want.”

”Haven’t you noticed, on rainy days, virtual machines and virtual helmets go better together?”

It seemed as if a mysterious, tempting laugh echoed from the sky.

”Clever little ghost, you sure can’t hide anything from you.”

The next moment, the two woke up, and Gao Gong immediately opened the system panel.

As expected, two prompts appeared—

[You have gained Professional Knowledge: [Brain Ecology]]

[You have gained Professional Knowledge: [Zone Zero] (Core)]

With the final two professional knowledge pieces lit up, a complete line of professional knowledge also lit up sequentially on the Civilization Panel.

[Brain Chemistry], [Brain Structure], [Brainwave Control], [Brain Simulation Technology], [Brain-Machine Transformation], [Brain Speed Information Channel], [Brain Ecology], [Zone Zero] (Core)

[Would you like to merge the professional knowledge chain?]

Yes

A large amount of alliance experience was invested.

The next moment, all knowledge unified and once again inserted into his mind.

[You have obtained a Professional Knowledge Chain (Brain Domain Civilization) — Mechanical Brain Technology]

The ’foundation’ of the entire Electronic Brain Project is this professional knowledge chain.
