Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 612: Chapter 143: Black Python

Cloning technology, in many civilizations, is actually legal.

This is generally divided into two types—

The first type of civilization treats clones as cannon fodder, sending them into dangerous jobs like earth core excavation, suicide missions in warships, cleaning up clone legions, human research, and so on.

The second type of civilization actively modifies the clone’s genes in the cloning process. This way, clones will become significantly different from the original host and can actively integrate into human society after acquiring sufficient knowledge from public institutions.

The former is more efficient, with mass-produced clones becoming an important force on the battlefield; however, if not handled properly, leading to a ”clone rebellion” storyline, then they have only themselves to blame.

The latter is not about overlord soldiers but a method of population increase, as carbon-based civilizations need a large population to occupy planets.

But the current approach is even more nefarious than the ”cannon fodder route,” rather than cloning, it’s more like ”soul possession.”

Induce others to take drugs, enabling their bodies to develop a ”new personality,” and to ensure the integrity of this ”new personality,” they have to take more drugs.

Over time, a massive ”slave society” is just modeled into shape.

”Tsk tsk, it has a bit of the giant corporation vibe.”

In the cosmos, there’s a type of civilization known as the ”Giant Corporation Civilization,” whose development direction is the capitalist max version.

Gao Gong looked at the other party with a half-smile: ”How many corporate heads have you controlled with this method?”

The person opposite quickly waved his hand, speaking righteously:

”Mr. G, what do you take us for? Our ’Holy Brain Group’ is a legitimate enterprise, with the mission of ’aiding life, and pharmacological wisdom.’ We would never do anything that violates the laws of the Mother City.”

”If you say you haven’t done it, then you haven’t.”

Gao Gong stretched lazily, glanced at the time in the coffee shop, and said softly, ”It’s about time to take action.”

At this time, atop every building in Puppet City, the Mechanical Claw People crouched and clung to the walls, their eyes indifferent, their expressions cold.

The current Mechanical Claw People are not just street killing machines, but a combination of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Mechanical Samurai, with bulky, repairable metal arms, and strong mechanical-powered legs, equipped with a row of fist-sized mini-leg engines, and on its back is a mechanical transformation pack resembling a turtle shell, containing twenty interchangeable parts, including jet flight capability.

The enhancement data directly reflected in their levels, with the 30-level soldier species evolving to 35-level, and some high-level claw person leaders even reaching 40-level.

From these killing machines, one can see the shadow of some mechanical body, such as the repairable metal arms imitating memory metal, fist engines absorbing part of the carbon atom reactor technology, and several construct-like killing weapons.

”The cap has spoken, prepare for action.”

A 40-level explosive-haired Mechanical Hunter said so.

”Then take action,” another voice came through the headphones.

The next moment, countless single molecule lines crisscrossed, like covering the city with a giant spider web, and the targets of these Mechanical Claw People were not ordinary people but the managers of this city.

On their electronic eyes, the profiles of each big figure were marked out.

And the availability of these profiles is thanks to Gao Gong’s current counterpart, the branch representative of the Holy Brain Group, Mr. Naoqiao.

”You’re too forgiving,” Mr. Naoqiao sighed, above the crisscrossing ”claw people,” the true main force of the transformation plan was still the Mechanical Eyeliner, like a black tide.

They, like Hive City’s Mechanical Bees, swarmed ordinary people, but unlike the Mechanical Bees that dig into skulls and extract brain pulp, the only thing they did was put a helmet on these ordinary people after a tranquilizer shot.

This ”Virtual Helmet” looks a bit like a motorcycle helmet, with a protruding rear end as a neural network connector, and inside the helmet are numerous neural sensing nodes that can sense all brain regions, achieving temporary ”consciousness upload.”

Compared to other ”Brain-Machine Interface,” the biggest advantage of the ”Virtual Helmet” is that it can be ”online and offline” at will.

”But Mr. G, the primary role of Brain-Machine Interface is to empty human brain’s computational power, your approach can only achieve 20%-30% of brain computational power.”

Mr. Brainstem regretfully shook his head, ”it’s like a shallow sleep, which is the biggest flaw of this technology.”

However, Gao Gong confidently said: ”Don’t worry about that. We’ve installed a virtual machine module on the virtual helmet. Every person who wears it will have a very long, adrenalizing dream, and this deep sleep can easily boost computational power.”

Mr. Brainstem twitched his mouth, the technology sounded a bit unreliable, he was about to say more when suddenly Gao Gong disappeared from view.

Leaving only one sentence in his ears—

”I’ve found something interesting, I’m going to check it out.”

...

Puppet City, Heavy Machinery Factory

With a large number of Mechanical Eyeliner invading, the factory workers also fell into panic, and who knew who pressed the wrong button, causing a crane arm to suddenly slam down fiercely towards the ground, aiming right at the factory’s control platform.

’Boom!!!’

The giant arm as thick as a water tank did not successfully smash down.

A pair of arms fiercely grabbed the lower edge of the crane arm, and then a heavy mumbling voice was heard.

”This CNC machine costs several thousand, who’s going to pay if it gets smashed.”

With the words, the bulging veins on the arms quickly turned black, and then after both arms turned completely black, with a white mist exhaled, both the crane and the crane arm were directly flipped onto the ground.

”Black Python, run!” a worker in the distance with a mechanical arm shouted.

”Run for what, isn’t it just a drone malfunction.” Black Python grumbled.

This factory of theirs just happened to be the one manufacturing drones.

”Go take a look outside!”

Black Python strode to the doorway, his eyes widened, seeing that the sky was already blackened with flying machines, and with his eye, it was obvious at a glance that these ”drones” were combat models.

”Not good, my wife and child are still outside!”

’Thump——’

Black Python disappeared from where he stood, leaving a shallow pit on the ground.

...

In Puppet City, each person actually understands that they are not ”themselves.”

Or rather, they are not the ”original personality” of this body, their past memories, life, and personality belong to someone else.

You can choose to restore the past personality, the true self.

Or you can use drugs to maintain the ”current self.”

How to choose is up to you.

But to maintain this current personality, you must periodically take the pharmaceuticals from the major pharmaceutical companies.

This drug is called ”Personality Balancing Agent.”

Black Python doesn’t know what his past identity was, but he can vaguely feel a powerful and violent power hidden within himself.

But he doesn’t care; he doesn’t care what he used to be, that belonged to another him, not the current him.

And the current him is a mechanical worker with a happy family, a wife, and a daughter, living a stable life, working hard every day, and striving to sustain his ”personality life.”

Whoever dares to destroy his family, he’ll fight to the death with them!!

...

”A formidable character has arrived.”

Two figures descended from the sky, two 35-level Biological Hunters.

The street they were on was littered with mechanical corpses, all the Mechanical Eyeliner trying to put a virtual helmet on the other were bent and twisted by a strange force.

”I can smell something peculiar from them,” said one of the Biological Hunters who had developed a sense of smell.

”High-level Radiation Beast?”

”No, there are signs of modification in the biological magnetic field.”

”This is an artificially modified powerful life form.”

They turned into another street; it wasn’t littered with mechanical parts all over but had three mechanical corpses.

One body had its chest blasted open, shattered into several pieces, its head removed.

The last was a newly developed Du Gao Technology Unmanned Mecha, towering at eight meters, as high as a three-story building, with three large dents on its thigh as if rammed in by an indescribable force.
