Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 567: Chapter 100: Biochemical Mode

”Woof woof woof—”

”Woof woof—”

”Shit!!”

As the saying goes, you can’t expect ivory from a dog’s mouth, and when a dog starts barking randomly, it’s usually a bad sign.

At this moment, in a data archive room on Atomic Island, a dozen players were being attacked by a group of service robots, among which was a bionic dog with its leg broken and electronic sparks flying from the fracture.

Just a minute ago, the situation wasn’t like this.

A 60-year technological gap is no joke. Today’s bionic people are indistinguishable from real humans except for not being able to have children, whereas ancient robots were essentially human-shaped tin cans, stiff limbs, rusty metal, and bizarre movements—a bullet per kid.

Just as this group of players were happily grinding for XP, the situation suddenly changed. The skin of these service robots seemed to ignite, with purple arcs appearing at their power joints, and at the heart, a mass of visible purple light began to emerge.

Name: Amusement Park Robot (Rampage Mode)

Category: Service Robot (Rampage Charging Mode)

Level: 45

Skills: Leading Mode (Death Boost), Room Service (Murder Boost), Voice Service (Insult Boost), Massage Mode (Bone-breaking Type)

Note: Injected with an unknown advanced energy, it has turned into a service monster. If you have a monster-level physique, you will enjoy extraordinary pleasure.

Unfortunately, the players did not have monster-level physiques, so when the level 15 mobs suddenly became level 45, and the robots could cut through a pillar with a light pat, the players were pitifully forced into various ’services,’ including ’Simp.’

’Simp’ was his game name, true to his nature. He had managed to become a bionic dog as an employee of a bionic company, and his weapon was a rare female combat bionic person. He had grinded company tasks for a long time to ’grind’ her out.

At this moment, while other players were being killed, ’wife’ decisively took action, her flexible bionic skin made of artificial neurons snapping crisply in the air, her foot landing heavily on a service robot’s elbow with a thud, but her boots melted visibly under the purple arcs.

”Holy crap, wife run quickly, remember to activate self-defense mode and add an electronic password lock after I die, don’t let Old Wang next door crack it!”

’Simp’ shouted, knowing that while players’ lives are expendable, they must save their equipment before dying. It didn’t matter if he died, but if he lost this ’wife’ he painstakingly grinded out, a high-end custom older sister type, he’d be heartbroken!

”Shut up!” ’Wife’ said in a custom older sister voice, twisting her waist fiercely, her hands propping on the ground as her feet kicked in a triple combo, directly booting away the rampaging robot. Then she somersaulted, grabbing ’Simp’ and started running out, as behind her, the sound of weapon and prosthetic body breaking continued endlessly.

”Wife is awesome!” Simp cheered, though inwardly pondering when the ’Battle Mode’ became so advanced, even having a built-in protection mode?

Quickly, except for Simp, all other players were crushed to pieces, and after everyone disappeared, the purple eyes of those service robots dimmed and returned to normal service mode.

Similar plots were occurring throughout Atomic City, with the level of fifteen level monsters suddenly jumping thirty levels to Tier 2, adding tenfold to speed, power, and agility, turning the previous ’squash’ situation into a ’squash’ situation—only it was the players being squashed.

But not all players were unable to cope. In fact, top players had already begun to battle at a ’Tier 2 monster’ level.

At a place called ’Big Collective 2.0’ building, defense robots lay on the ground, while not far away, four figures engaged in combat at an incredible speed.

The first thing you see is a pitch-black figure, absorbing light like a human black hole, disappearing into the air now and then. Whenever he appeared, his attacks were pinpoint accurate, sonic-speed, delivering double damage, weak point attacks, and energy strikes mercilessly.

These enhanced robots had everything increased except their blood volume.

Finally, as the last tin man fell, the black shadow landed, releasing absorbed light explosively like a flash grenade, momentarily brightening the entire hall. Fortunately, the opponents were robots; if they were ordinary opponents, the ’flash grenade’s’ blinding effect would be more troublesome.

’Is this the legendary ’carbon fusion,’ a super skill on the biological route?’

”Every individual’s ’carbon fusion’ effect is different. My ’carbon fusion’ not only greatly increases attributes, but its biggest effect is light control, which aligns with my profession.”

Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella said calmly, his weapon, one of the Nine Assassination Swords crafted by the top Swordsmith in the Assassination Alliance, ’One-line Snake Blade’ was sheathed at some point, looking like a lurking snake, just like his aura.

For every strong player on the carbon-based route, the effect brought by carbon fusion is different, and for Brother Umbrella, the fusion didn’t enhance his aura to transform into a ’Saiyan,’ but rather made all signs of life disappear, undetectable by ancient equipment.

”So you’re saying this ultimate move can only be activated by unmodified organisms, mechanical transformers can’t?”

”Not necessarily, but one thing is certain, the higher the degree of mechanical transformation, the lower the chance of activating ’carbon fusion.’ Therefore, on this Mechanical Split Star map, few players should be able to activate this skill.”

”Because on this planet, pure carbon-based factions are very rare.”

Brother Umbrella walked through the corridor, pushed open a door, and saw a woman in white tapping on a keyboard, her hair dancing without wind, strands occasionally inserting into various interfaces, and her holographic projections flashing continuously, either charmingly smiling, indifferent, or making faces, looking indistinguishable from real people without a close look.

”Such advanced holographic technology!” Brother Umbrella was a bit moved.

”Impressive, right? Learned from an NPC,” Sister Ji pressed the last button, ’click,’ and all the defense mechanisms in the entire building were hacked.

Their plan was simple—Brother Umbrella would distract the robots, while Sister Ji hacked to shut down the outer defenses completely.

Though seemingly simple, both partners needed to be at level 30 to do this so nonchalantly.

Sister Ji stood up, countless neural lines crawling out from beneath her skirt, rubbing against the other’s skin-tight clothing like a female wolf.

”Nice, Dark Serpent, I’ve heard of your name in Other Shore of Freedom. Among the new top players in the Assassination Alliance, you’re the only player, impressive!”

Brother Umbrella swept away the neural lines with the knife handle, annoyed, ”Get to work, stop fooling around.”

Sister Ji shrugged, and the two walked towards the depths of the building, chatting as they went.

”The monster levels suddenly rose 30 levels, we can still hold off, but doesn’t that mean trouble for other players?”

”It’s abnormal for a normal task, but this is a ’Hell-level Task,’ so it’s normal,” Brother Umbrella paused and said calmly, ”And this is probably just the start.”

Sister Ji squinted, ”Did you sense something?”

”Hard to say, but I have a weird premonition that this mission might be very unfriendly to mechanical transformers,” Brother Umbrella frowned, as a crimson snake eye on the hilt of his intelligent blade lit up for a moment.

...

”The virus has started spreading further, soon the first wave of mutations will occur.” On the spaceship, amidst countless holographic projections, the fingers of a player’s dead body suddenly twitched, and then the damaged prosthetic body began to recover visibly.

’First mutation, gained effect is ’Life Force’?

Mechanical Gao Gong shook his head, sensing through another body, he easily judged: ”No, rather than ’Life Force,’ it’s more like ’Parasitic Ability.’

”Parasitic?” Miao Miaomiao asked puzzled, but she quickly understood as the skin on the mechanically transformed bodies visibly shriveled and dried. Soon, reconstructed skulls stood up, their hollow eyes gleaming with ferocity.

This is Biochemical Mode.
