Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 566: Chapter 99: Space Technique – String Fire

On this planet, there are only two types of corporations: the monopolistic giant corporations and the disruptive madman corporations. The former rules over technology while the latter overturns it.

Members of the Skull Society undoubtedly belong to the latter, and their ability to carve a path in this cyber society, even thriving, is largely due to their insatiable greed for advanced technology—an insatiable greed that disregards life.

Gao Gong is certain that his small bait will definitely be devoured by the other party.

The best result would be that he could influence the Skull Society through Mas Sharpness and, through the Skull Society, impact the foundations of the monopolistic corporations.

This is very important for his future plans.

Two days later, at the experimental center of the flying base, one holographic image after another appeared. In the images, various Transformers with significant modifications and bizarre appearances emerged on Atomic Island. They appeared as if they were on drugs, shouting all sorts of strange phrases like ’Team up, team up, let’s start killing monsters, brothers,’ ’Don’t compete, this is my Refresh Point,’ ’Get it started, save Professor Chechenov!’ ’Selling new sensory machines, new model girls, perfectly avoiding all censorship powers! Sister Ji makes a friendly appearance!’

Miao Miaomiao was silent for a while and then asked, ”Where did you find these freaks?”

Indeed, they were freaks. Players at this stage have already tasted the benefits of body transformation, knowing that no matter how high their level is, it’s not as good as transforming their bodies. But due to their limited transformation resources, they often focus intensely on one human body system, with many even priding themselves on their monstrous beauty, pursuing a sort of fringe aesthetic.

For instance, someone over three meters tall with two-meter-long shoulders, where distorted hands held various small weapons at odd angles. Those unaware might even think it’s some sort of ’Limb-Attaching King.’

This grotesque appearance is undoubtedly the result of the ’Sports System’ transformation exceeding 20%, causing skeletal deformity while other human body systems haven’t kept up, leading to a height comparable to a Biochemical Giant.

And this ’Limb-Attaching King’ was smugly showing twenty middle fingers to the surrounding players.

”I might not have much else, but I have plenty of fingers. If you dare, come have a contest!” Brother Cha boasted arrogantly.

”Rock, paper, scissors, I’ve never lost.”

Another player had undergone extensive neural system transformation without muscular evolution keeping up, resulting in nerves as thick as pinkies protruding through the skin, with prosthetic plugins attached to nerve connectors, resembling a power bank laden with phones.

”Master Baoo, do you have a spare ’Combat Amplification’ plugin? Mine’s broken, give me one, and I’ll transfer the money to you.”

”Hold on, let me check.”

Master Baoo jingled as he moved, and eventually pulled out a ’Human Body Plugin’ from behind, tossing it over.

”No need to pay, just look after my business sometime.”

”Well... I’d rather transfer the money.” Another player wiped his sweat and said.

As a Prosthetic Doctor, Master Baoo should be as popular among other players as Baozi, but unfortunately, he advanced to become a ’Brain Medicine Master,’ known for his uncanny ability to cause mental disorders, even if the patient didn’t initially have one during surgery.

Players have high thresholds; missing a few components on their bodies isn’t an issue. But if their brains have a major problem, suicide becomes the only option. Thus, as a rare profession, Master Baoo’s place is one of ’a deserted horse and carriage in front of his door.’

The other players, although not as extravagant as ’Brother Cha’ or ’Master Baoo,’ have their own quirks; for example, those who installed four legs, resembling centaurs, raised advanced female Bionic Men, or transformed themselves into four-legged biometric dogs.

Compared to them, the hunters in the Iron Sand Desert seem like elementary school-style artwork, entirely out of sync with the rapid and vigorous aesthetic of the new era.

”...”

Gao Gong was silent for a while, then said, ”In any case, since they’re all here, the experiment can continue. I’ll go down and supervise.”

The advantage of a ’Mechanical Virus’ is that, as long as you’re not a Mechanical Body, there’s almost no impact. This is why, no matter how dangerous a mechanical virus is, it never reaches the level of a ’civilization disaster,’ because it can’t cover all types of civilizations.

As soon as he finished speaking, he placed his hand on the door seam, and the surface of his skin started to bubble crimson, akin to erupting magma or burning flames—signs of energy rapidly rising. Meanwhile, warning sounds blared from various parts of the orbital spaceship.

Nearby, Miao Miaomiao only felt dizzy and instinctually shivered all over, anxiously wondering:

’Such energy fluctuations can probably only be matched by a few forbidden experiments within the company.’

’How could such a level of transformation be achieved with Du Gao Technology’s technological standard!?’

An individual’s modification ceiling is often determined by the technological level of their faction.

And now, the level Gao Gong is displaying is not something an emerging group like Du Gao Technology could amass.

In a single breath, all of Gao Gong’s flesh disappeared, leaving only the Mechanical Body standing there. He turned his hollow mechanical eye sockets towards her, a cold electronic voice slowly emerging without any fluctuation.

”Let’s continue the experiment.”

The feeling Miao Miaomiao now had about the other person was identical to that of the group of freaks underground.

...

At the same time, Gao Gong’s flesh and blood appeared on Atomic Island. Unlike before, Gao Gong now resembled ’Dr. Manhattan,’ that powerful, blue-skinned, bald-headed character from the comics, capable of entering the quantum state.

He is now in the form of a purple Energy Body.

Within a single breath, Gao Gong appeared in the encrypted laboratory on Atomic Island. His translucent purple eyes scanned the surroundings, and in the next moment, countless test tubes began to tremble, with molecules invisible to the naked eye accelerating their motion.

In a trance, it was as if countless voices echoed by the ear—

’Either replicate or perish; we desire only to be replicated!’

’We are not viruses; we are evolution itself!’

’Life, creating life!’

’We will redefine the existence of mechanical life!’

”Let’s spread the virus first,” Gao Gong muttered to himself, waving his hand gently, and in the next moment, all test tubes shattered, releasing virus molecules that rapidly spread, quickly engulfing the entire island.

”Moreover, since it’s a Tier 2 Hell-level task, the difficulty of the robots on Atomic Island can’t compare, making it perfect to test out this move.”

Countless energy bubbles illuminated once more on the skin. Within the Purple String Space, 100,000 points of advanced energy were cleared in a matter of breaths and then quickly restored under the influence of physical laws.

After repeating this three times, Gao Gong’s vision began to change. The space fragmented, with countless purple threads entangling the fragmented space, transforming the whole world into one of silk threads. Simultaneously, a cluster of purple flames appeared on Gao Gong’s hand.

’String Fire!!’

As the fire fiercely entered the space, the flames instantly covered all the purple lines, burning towards the other end. In the mirror, ancient robots from Atomic Island were seen.

To the players, these ancient robotic monsters first froze simultaneously and then, in the next instant, cascaded with surging energy, reaching levels 10, 20, 30.

Under the influence of spatial energy, all ancient robots temporarily increased by 30 levels!
