Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 560: Chapter 93: X-Type Reactor

The island was becoming more crowded, with familiar faces like Professor Han, C-53145, D 31134, E 12453, Zhao Tong, Dr. Rong, Dong Gang, Dr. Yuu—all these camp scientists from various departments making their appearances every three to four minutes.

It’s rare for everyone to meet, so naturally, the conversations were lively.

”Professor Dong, I heard your Artificial Neural Network technology has upgraded again?”

”Yes, it can now transform all neural networks in the human body system.” Dong Gang puffed up his chest, speaking with pride, while sneaking a glance at the beautiful Dr. Yuu.

”Dr. Yuu, how about you?”

”I’ve completed the morphological simulation and artificial genetic cultivation of 132 varieties of Radiation Beasts.”

”Impressive!”

”It’s no big deal; the materials from headquarters were highly inspiring.”

Meanwhile, C, D, and E, the old empire’s mechanical workers, were pointing at the mechanical prison on the island.

”This design is pretty good. The Energy Cannon can fire continuously; how does it handle the energy short-circuit issue?”

”This design, is it a prison?”

”If the prison is this luxurious, I’d want to serve my time here too.”

”This is indeed a Biological Experiment base of the Holy Brain Group. Many research facilities here aren’t found on the market. That’s why I invited everyone to come.”

”Everyone, please step inside. All preliminary preparations are ready; the rest depends on your skills.”

Accompanied by the sound from a remote-controlled robot, the group followed it into a massive biological laboratory.

Professor Han glanced around and spotted a storage room filled with numerous freezing test tubes. Some liquid inside the tubes remained flowing, even burning, despite the extremely low-temperature environment. Undoubtedly, these are high-tier Radiation Beast blood.

”Alright, everyone, I know you’ve all progressed in your respective domains, and the growth in numbers of our warriors—whether Mechanical Hunters or Biological Hunters—validates the feasibility of our research findings. The reason I gathered you here is for a higher-level pursuit—”

Accompanied by the speech, holographic projections appeared, showing various figures. These are the human parameters of Advanced Hunters, classified data within the Du Gao Group.

Professor Han’s gaze paused on an imposing figure, nearly three meters tall. He knew this person well—Fat Xiang, once a desert native, now the captain of a secret number special operations unit. They had met just last month to implant the third ’Biological Chip.’

Indeed, under the influence of extensive high-tech data (mainly blueprints and foundational knowledge from someone’s gambling winnings), the research team at the group long sought more than just a type of ’Biological Transformation.’ They aimed for more complex Radiation Beast bionics.

This particular area is primarily his responsibility, but, unfortunately, to date, only Fat Xiang has successfully implanted three chips, thanks to his formidable physique resembling a Radiation Beast.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yuu focused on a tree’s projection, peculiar due to numerous basketball-sized ’tree balls’ on its branches. Although the surface appears tree-like, upon closer inspection, the fruit peel’s interior conceals a small Radiation Beast.

Her research direction is fascinating, named ’Radiation Ecology,’ full title being ”Gene Relation and Mutual Transformation Between Radiation Animals and Radiation Plants.”

It’s widely recognized that Radiation Beasts originated from the Civilization Era’s animals; researching them is almost a mandatory course for every biological enterprise. Oddly enough, few investigate Radiation Plants, perhaps because as electrical devices, motors, engines, and mechanical materials become elements of ecology, the concept of ’plants’ broadens significantly, though researchable scope shrinks considerably.

Nevertheless, Dr. Yuu remained determined. As a Level 20 Origin Biologist, she believed that despite the impact from catastrophic events, these Radiation Beasts weren’t spontaneously formed. There must be a more complex evolutionary ecological environment.

The key to this evolution likely lies in ’mutated plants.’

Thus, under the Money Power from Du Gao Group, this top-tier expert who once idled in the Biological Mutation Association began scouring the world for mutated plants, studying their morphological changes and genetic structures.

Then, after a series of inquiries, this became her ultimate achievement.

A cultivated mutant fruit tree capable of asexual fruit production, and these ’fruits’ are various types of small Radiation Beasts, albeit E-level, categorized under part of the amphibious mutation class, with only a dozen varieties.

Even so, this discovery, even within the Biological Mutation Association, is a remarkable one, definitely warranting commendation.

But Dr. Yuu no longer cares about her former employer. Her current job offers wealth, leisure, and proximity to home. Most importantly, her boss is deeply connected to her research on ’Biological Origin,’ and she’s already been won over.

While Dong Gang pondered how to capture the Goddess’s attention, Dr. Yuu contemplated how to study the boss’s physique, in a physical sense.

...

”Is everyone here?”

”Of course, if I intervene, you shouldn’t worry.”

At this moment, beneath the island, there lies a colossal mobile mechanical creation, spanning nearly 50 miles, known as the ’Earth Element Breakthrough Machine’ with drills claiming to penetrate the earth’s core.

Also referred to as the planetary version of an excavator.

Gao Gong is currently at the core of this machinery, in the intelligent mechanical transformation chamber.

Here, there are at least five small robot production lines, and recently a large mecha line has been added. If raw materials are sufficient, the production efficiency of small robots is 100 units per second, while large mecha can be produced every three minutes.

Over the past year, Du Gao Group has aggressively purchased land, built facilities, and established numerous production bases, mercenary bases, and hunter transformation bases. However, the real headquarters has always remained in this ’mobile office space’.

And this is also where the ’core technology’ of Du Gao Group is stored.

With great interest, Gao Gong is watching a mechanical transformation chamber, where a weapon with an appearance resembling a scythe is in test mode. Under the operation of mechanical arms, it suddenly retracts and expands, moving at a speed too fast for the naked eye to perceive; by the time the mechanical arm reacts, three steel pillars on the periphery have already been sliced through their centers, with cuts as smooth as human skin, and besides these three steel pillars, the controlling mechanical arm has also been severed.

If the operator was human, they would be dead by now.

The alarm for experiment failure sounds, and with the noise, the silver-white scythe shivers twice as if personified, then abruptly ’cracks’, shattering into four or five pieces.

Undoubtedly, this familiar model—the replica of Construct: Scythe Dance, and a failed replica at that.

Such equipment as constructs is inherently very dangerous, with an extremely low implantation success rate and a high likelihood of causing backlash; even within the civilization that produces them, they are a perilous commodity reserved only for a small elite group.

However, the hallmark of whether a technology is mature is its mass production.

Therefore, Du Gao Technology is researching mass production methods for this weapon, but currently, the progress appears troubled.

This is not surprising.

If the upgrading of a technology faced no obstacles, then advanced civilizations in the universe wouldn’t be so few.

But Gao Gong is certain that as long as he continuously invests and reinvests, one day the alliance will reciprocate, and at an extremely terrifying rate—this is the confidence of an alliance leader.

Moreover, it’s not like there hasn’t been any output; Gao Gong moves to another mechanical research chamber, where palm-sized, round objects are floating in a zero-gravity environment, being carved by barely visible nanoscopic needles.

This round, glowing object seems very familiar.

This thing is called a ’V-Type Carbon Atom Reactor’.

Indeed, under Director Du’s continuous hard work, this Level 7 mechanical product, equipped with an engine, the V-Type Carbon Atom Reactor, has already begun preliminary mass production.

If the carbon atom reactors are mass-produced and embedded into the robots’ chests, then fitted with weapon modules, Du Gao Group will have domestically-produced Tier 2 mechanical species.

The effect is roughly similar to the mechanized troops of Ultron in Avengers II.

Furthermore, according to Director Du, she has been innovative in researching new types of X-Type Reactors.

This reactor has higher energy efficiency, greater adaptability, and most importantly, it doesn’t require a hole to be dug in the chest to insert the reactor; instead, akin to a certain armor model of Iron Man, it normally disperses into cells, and can emerge transformed during critical moments.

Although it cannot, like ’nanomaterial armor’, incorporate various weapons, it can energize them, providing what in gaming parlance is an ’enchantment’; this effect, when combined with constructs, will surely propel power to a higher tier, combining physical and energy damage, and the basic damage will fearlessly surpass twenty thousand.

This is the effect of alliance reciprocation; if it were purchased advanced equipment, you wouldn’t get upgrades, having after-sales service would be fortunate.

Gao Gong shakes his head, walks through encrypted mechanical laboratories, and arrives at the final chamber, with various detection radiances scanning continuously, the encryption level reaching top-tier. If someone weren’t the CEO’s favorite, they would’ve been shot long ago.

”It’s frustrating, feeling goosebumps just touring my own company; I wonder if Director Du buried a nuclear bomb here?”

”There are nuclear bombs indeed; three high-yield 100kg bombs, with ten-kiloton yields each, stored within three triggering devices around the laboratory. Should an individual capable of breaching group defenses emerge—like you, for example—the bombs would automatically initiate annihilation mode, obliterating all confidential information along with the enemy.”

”Little A?”

”I am no longer the in-car intelligence Little A; I am now the most powerful defense intelligence of this A1 base.”

”Please call me Mrs. A in the future.”
