Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

In just a short moment, the number of gang members handicapped by the Angels reached three digits.

What’s even more terrifying is that this number continues to rise.

Gao Jin took a deep breath, and the next moment, thirty ’Mechanical Lord Guan’ emerged. They were unlike the bulky large combat robots, nor like the smaller robots that rely on speed and firepower, such as mechanical eyeliner or drones.

They were closer to mechanical warriors.

That is, fully mechanized Transformers.

The next moment, more than thirty electromechanical broadswords vibrated wildly, and ’Lord Guan’ launched a frenzied attack. Their agility was about 40 points, so achieving double the sound burst was not a problem.

Xiao Yu’s eyes widened suddenly, and the intelligent module in the Snake Blade in his hand, ’Coiling Serpent’, was activated. For a moment, the blade extended more than ten times its length, transforming into a twisting demon snake, no longer clashing head-on with these 4 to 5-meter broadswords, but instead slashing instead of chopping, seizing instead of cutting, drilling into the gaps of the machine modules and aiming directly at vital points. With a fierce pull, countless wires and parts spewed out.

This Assassination Blade was played to its fullest potential in Xiao Yu’s hands, even the three small metal snakes on the hilt extended to half a meter, becoming three protective demon snakes.

Gao Gong squinted his eyes, with a simple virtual invasion, he discerned the opponent’s attributes.

Name: Grid Robot

Level: 32

Mechanical Energy: 210,000

Modules: Weapon Module (Electromechanical Broadsword, Reversed Spear), Energy Module (Embedded Engine *4), Operation Module (Grid Operating System), Sensing Module (Grid Trigger *50)

Note: In the Mechanical Split Star, all robots strive to become ’human’, but in the Cyber Test Field, a spark from a mechanical army flared up.

”Subject Revolution?”

Gao Gong muttered to himself.

In a Level 2 Civilization, the Subject Revolution is also known as the First Mechanical Revolution, simply put, it’s when the artificial intelligence of the mechanical system reaches a point where it cannot be controlled by a wise race, and seeks to overcome human shackles, and the serfs turn into masters.

Of course, to rebel, a large army is needed, and the super intelligence achieves this by self-replication, creating a million-strong mechanical army. Naturally, this million-strong army cannot all be artificial intelligence, but rather AI sub-bodies.

The system management mode between both sides is this ’grid structure’.

It can only be said that, true to the Cyber Test Field, within a small street brawl, there lies such a hidden crisis.

However, the likelihood of such a mechanical army coming into being isn’t high. At least in Gao Gong’s previous life, he never heard of any major machine rebellion event in Nightless City.

Nevertheless, it’s quite unexpected that an advanced AI stands behind Gao Jin, and there’s a high probability of it being a corrupted AI.

”Boss, that little girl is having a hard time holding on!”

The biggest difference between Grid Robots and AI is that they are closer to humanoid machines, so they don’t fear death, nor do they mind being used as tools!

At this moment, various long-range weapons indiscriminately treat both sides of the battle as targets, completely unconcerned with the survival of these robots. If it were a normal AI, they would have rebelled long ago.

Amidst the hail of bullets, Xiao Yu found himself struggling, even when dodging with all his might, his body was hit by more than twenty bullets.

”Then let’s get started.”

Almost the moment Gao Gong’s words fell, two gigantic figures descended from the sky; one was a nine-meter-tall, silvery-white humanoid mecha, and the other was an eight-meter-long red Mechanical Cheetah.

Because such gigantic mecha were hard to smuggle in, both of them chose small mechas: Berserker Type-VIII Silver-White Warrior and Cheetah Type IX: Death Leopard.

”Holy crap, the Silver-White Warrior!”

”What a big figurine!”

”What nonsense of a figurine, this is a bona fide mecha!”

Even a small mecha, compared to this group of Lord Guan mecha, was like a giant. One of the Grid Robots was caught off guard and was cleaved in half by the super greatsword drawn by the Silver-White Warrior, sending sparks flying everywhere.

[You killed a Grid Robot, experience +10000]

Gao Da grinned from inside the cockpit; it’s time to show off!

”You guys go, too.”

Almost the next moment, the single molecule line lashed out, and over a dozen Level 20-plus Mechanical Hunters landed in the crowd. The hunter components on them began transforming; some grew steel pincers capable of cutting cannon barrels, others sprouted butterfly wings to spray metal dust, enhancing mechanical stubbornness and lowering metal defenses. Some arms turned into jet cannons with area-effect shock attacks, while some entire body pores turned into biological gun muzzles, shooting poison needles everywhere, as fast as bullets.

In short, none of the transformations were the same; they were all performing tricks.

The players were left gawking.

Most of these mechanical transformations or biological transformations were ones Gao Gong had never seen before.

This indicated that even in his absence, the faction kept ’producing blueprints’ and ’producing equipment’.

”Old Han must be really burning out, truthfully thinking he doesn’t have much longer to live?”

The gang members had never seen this kind of thing before: biochemical viruses, radiation infection, plasma weapons, mechanical extermination, can’t you fight the proper way?!

An individual Mechanical Hunter couldn’t match Xiao Yu in effectiveness.

But when these Hunters acted together, their lethality was several times that of Xiao Yu.

Hunter profession’s traits are many weapons, many skills, and many variations, especially when you first encounter them, they are absolutely dangerous.

So much so that Gao Jin couldn’t sit still anymore. He glanced at a high-ranking member of the Kobayashi Clan, who nodded, and the next moment, dozens of Mechanical Blade Masters charged out, aiming directly at these bizarre enemies.

Likewise, amidst the gunfire, the players surged forward, with melee players drawing aggro, while ranged players provided support. Although they were fewer in number, when it came to being reckless, they surpassed the gang.

In an instant, the entire abandoned construction site turned into a chaotic battlefield.

As they fought creatures, these players still had the time to chatter.

”Damn, that knife is straight out of his arm! Just like Wolverine’s claws.”

”Did you see? That humanoid mechanical gorilla can shoot air cannons from its limbs—my soul is shaking!”

”Then your XP is kinda weird.”

”Stop gawking! Hurry up and fight; I’m not dragging these creatures for nothing!”

Soldier against soldier, general against general, leader against leader.

Maybe they were outnumbered, but in terms of high-level fighters, Gao Gong’s forces weren’t afraid of the opposition at all.

At the same level, one Mechanical Hunter could take on three Double Flower Red Staffs.

Especially with the two combat mechas, fighting these grid robots was like adults thrashing juveniles—power, speed, agility, complete domination.

With Xiao Yu’s hands free, he hesitated hardly at all as a series of sound bursts exploded three times, appearing in front of Gao Jin, his Snake Blade directly twisting towards the opponent.

”Block him for me!”

The middle-aged senior from the Kobayashi Clan’s eyes twitched, hesitating almost not at all as he drew his Intelligent Blade, then, under Xiao Yu’s assault, was slammed directly against the wall.

The wall shattered.

”Aaaaaaaaahhhh—”

Xiao Yu’s Little Angel eyes shone a blinding white, void of any human emotion. If that white light were magnified ten thousand times, you’d see those were clusters of combat data jumping.

Gao Jin couldn’t care about the opponent anymore; he hadn’t expected this street battle to turn out like this.

The opponent had more experts than anticipated.

Gao Jin ran with a speed unfitting his physique, vicious, thick tendons burst from his skin’s surface, tearing his suit into shreds.

The silver-white warrior abruptly turned, a sword as thick as a door blocked his path.

Gao Da fiercely yanked the control lever, shouting, ”Watch me solo the boss!!”

But then Gao Jin leaped, his figure appearing ten meters in mid-air, his massive fist aiming directly at the cockpit. Thankfully, at the critical moment, Gao Da’s mind was exceptionally clear, or, better said, in order to fulfill his desire to show off, this player demonstrated his lifelong speed skills.

The great sword twisted mid-air, blocking in front of the mecha’s cockpit.

”Get the hell outta here!!!”

Fist collided with sword, Gao Jin’s eyes filled with black tendons, almost popping out.

From the fist as the core, visible sound waves surged higher and higher; the surface of the mecha’s great sword cracked with countless fissures.

A loud explosion, the mecha’s great sword split in two, and the humanoid mecha was blasted into the building behind, embedding a large character.

The only good thing was it forced out the Molecular Bio-Fusion Armor’s attributes.

As he ran, Gao Jin’s right and left hands began transforming, Tyrant Bone Piercing resembling a black Great Bone Sword, while the Biochemical Poison Gun was a smoky black gun.

”A high-level product of Reproduction Technology, huh.”

This Gao Longtou, who hovered between Hulk and Biochemical Tyrant, reached the rooftop in a few leaps, with a swing and a thrust of his blade and gun, detonating three fold sound bursts.

Gao Gong crossed his arms, observing coldly.

In the next moment, the massive building shook, Gao Jin’s eyes snapped open, seeing two silhouettes blocking his path, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t cut through.

On his left, Tamil’s red double blades held up the Great Bone Sword, while on the other side, his gun barrel got wrapped alive by hundreds of spider threads, countless spiderwebs appearing on the rooftop.

”A mere gang leader wants to lay a hand on our king?”

Daisila’s graceful figure spun fiercely, kicking Gao Jin away, followed closely by Tamil, his elbow, knee, toe tip, six biological blade limbs growing out, as soon as he struck, the blade light linked into a line!

He was now the Eight-blade Style!
