Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

”According to the reports from the four major channels of Nightless City, as of 8 PM tonight, there have been thirty-six network nodes under attack in Nightless City. Experts claim that the attackers are using a ’Shark Virus’, which is highly aggressive, causing any invaded code to automatically collapse into garbled text, making recovery impossible...”

”According to the famous neural editor ’Dr. Charlie’ in this city, the virus is most likely a composite virus, formed by the fusion of several, or even more than a dozen, network viruses. This has not been seen before.”

”The virus has a very strong warning capability; the Nightless City Corporation Federation has launched several ’network sieges’ against the virus, all ending in failure.”

”According to a participant, the virus possesses a Mother City-level authority in cyber space, allowing it to escape at speeds far exceeding the tracking speed of the electronic defense wall... However, this claim remains to be proven.”

”However, one thing is certain. After interviewing many expert-level neural editors, they unanimously agreed that naming this virus the ’Shark Virus’ is not rigorous; it should actually be called the ’Little Girl Virus’ because its external shape is very similar to a little girl...”

”There is an interesting story that the first nuclear bomb in the Civilization Era was named ’Little Girl’, said to commemorate the second daughter of the Empire’s second-generation emperor, who died in childbirth...”

”Quite dangerous,” Gao Gong glanced at the holographic television, ”Cyber space does have a lot of strange things.”

”No hacker organization has claimed responsibility for the virus. However, it is widely believed that the most likely creators of the virus are the hacker organization in Holy City to which the famous hacker Terria belongs...”

”Ah, done!”

Gao Gong examined the ’Motorcycle Helmet’ in his hand, its external appearance almost indistinguishable from a regular motorcycle helmet. The ear area had thick electrode sheet devices, and the lining was a signal disruption device that covered the cerebral cortex.

This disruption targets only the broadcasted neural signals, having virtually no interference with the human brain.

If one had to say, putting it on would make the so-called mysterious ’intuition’ that normal people talk about disappear.

Name: Anti-Interference Helmet

Category: Neural Equipment

Quality: Whiteboard

Weight: 4.4kg

Plugin Slot: None

Note: This is a strange piece of equipment that disrupts electronic signals, causing AI to develop a feeling of rejection. If you have to describe it, it’s like dumping a bucket of shit on a person.

”Very well put.”

Gao Gong nodded with satisfaction.

However, the helmet did give Gao Gong some other ideas.

Whether it’s a virtual helmet or a game pod, they are actually products of the Civilization Era, the ultimate outcome of 3D technology.

Their main purpose—actually, it’s for gaming.

After the Global Corporate War ended, the Electronic Brain Plan fully unfolded, every intelligent being on the planet with a brain would have their brain replaced.

Replacing normal human brains with electronic mechanical brains.

After the plan ended, those with brains on the planet were only left with tofu brains.

The Electronic Brain Plan wasn’t determined from the start; it was just one of the solutions provided by the Holy Brain Group.

The ultimate goal of the Global Corporate War was to solve the computational power problem of cyber space.

The reason for choosing the ’Electronic Brain Plan’ was simply because it was the best option among all solutions.

If there were a better solution than this...

It would be difficult.

Gao Gong rubbed his chin. If one had to describe it, the Electronic Brain Plan is equivalent to the product of hundreds of advanced blueprints.

So much high technology can’t be solved by a single global corporation, involving every company along the entire industry chain, including allied enterprises, hidden stakeholders—everyone had to get involved.

That’s why it’s called a Global Corporate War, where every company and force in the world had to choose sides, whether actively or passively.

”Actually, you could first strive for it.”

Who are the biggest victims of the Electronic Brain Plan?

Truly, it’s the cyber hackers.

This group of unruly, elusive guys, unless they completely abandon their physical bodies in the real world, no matter how many clones or backup personalities you have, it’s all in vain.

After the plan’s success, many hackers were caught, and as for the subsequent ’Arasaka Tower Fall Event’, it was actually a result of hackers acting out of desperation.

”Getting ahead of myself, first help Director Du with the ’Weapons Exhibition’ problem.”

The real rich ladies all have a common trait, which is they are highly resistant to asking for help, very self-reliant and strong.

Unlike a certain dependent little wolfdog who excels at brown-nosing.

As Director Du’s little wolfdog, Gao Gong naturally had to considerately solve this problem.

Gao Gong pulled out a ’Mechanical Scroll’.

This scroll-like storage device fits well with the Empire’s antiquity.

As Gao Gong unfurled it, the mechanical components began to rotate in droves, and a bit of radiance seeped out through the cracks.

”Blinding my dog’s eyes, such crude holographic technology.”

High-level holographic technology prides itself on a seamless and subtle integration.

Crude holographic technology, however, interferes with human senses, immersing them through coercion.

The key is that during this process, Gao Gong couldn’t close his eyes.

Incredibly uncomfortable!

Fortunately, the process was very brief; after it fully opened, Gao Gong felt a weight pressed against the back of his neck.

”Forcefully disrupting my neural system really aligns with the Empire’s clunky and crude style.”

Just like being pinned under a rich lady, Gao Gong first experienced darkness in his vision—when he came to, he was standing on a vast grassland.

”This seems to be someone’s memory. Memory retrieval devices weren’t as advanced decades ago, were they?”
