Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

’This is unfair, I don’t accept this! We’re all players, so why is it only our squad got killed by the plot?’—Justice’s Security Manager

’Don’t be upset, I died too,’—Red Flower Demon

’Yeah, one of our squad members self-destructed right away. Did I say anything? I just quietly paid my respects to his parents in my heart,’—Plane

’Speaking of which, this time when we resurrect, we won’t have to switch accounts like the first batch, right? I’m doing pretty well as a security guard, I don’t want to switch jobs,’—Justice’s Security Manager

’That doesn’t seem likely. If we had to switch accounts every time we died, how would this game go on? I think we just lose money and experience,’—Plane

’But with this game’s level of realism, how do we explain dying and coming back to life?’

’Based on my experience of dying once, we should resurrect in the same faction, or in a similar role,’—Red Flower Demon

’So, with so many people in the group, why are only the three of us chatting?’—Plane

’Probably because among the squad leaders, only the three of us died,’ the Security Manager sent a sad emoji.

’The others are probably on the run,’—Plane

As Plane predicted, the others were indeed on the run, and in various ways at that.

Understanding that this was an ’invincible monster’ mission, everyone quickly abandoned the idea of hacking away at the health bar.

The key is you can’t kill it.

And if you did somehow kill it, how would the story continue?

As for escaping, everyone chose different methods.

Some chose to take the ’sky subway,’ which is a floating train.

Some chose to hail a cab, using a driverless car to head straight for Red Leaf Street.

Some ran on two legs—mainly because they were broke.

The last group died the fastest.

The reason is simple: The ’Sensing of Killing Intent’ that Red Flower Demon discovered with his life is not a passive skill but an active skill.

And it’s a large-area active skill.

As soon as Kobayashi Hideyuki appears in a district, players in that district, especially those who have taken up the mission, are basically impossible to hide.

Thus, the player chat was full of various death methods.

’My head flew over ten meters, I could break the Disney record, check out my high-altitude screenshot!’

’It’s really an ’invincible monster.’ I can’t even manage a mutual kill.’

’By the way, if the rented car gets destroyed, I won’t have to pay for it, right?’

’You’re still renting? Just take a cab!’

’My credit is negative, can’t take a cab.’

’Damn, what did you do to make your credit negative!’

’Nothing much, just took out a dozen high-interest loans,’ a certain genius humbly said.

…

More players started chatting in the group, seeing as they were dead anyway, they might as well share their acceptance speech.

And after filtering out countless nonsense, only one viewpoint was universally accepted by the mission players.

Beyond 1000 meters, if you have a vehicle, you might still have a chance.

Within 1000 meters, it doesn’t matter what you’re riding; all you can do is strike a cool pose.

After all, you must commemorate your first time.

Eldest Brother Hui was also on the run, but his vehicle was more impressive, a ’stretched limousine,’ the kind used by wealthy celebrities, where you can even sleep or swim inside.

Eldest Brother Hui elegantly held a wine glass, with white liquid—baby formula—swirling inside.

’There’s alcohol in the car, and some canned drinks that temporarily boost attributes. Feel free to have some, everyone.’

I Love Eating Buns looked at him with a strange expression, hesitated for a long time, then said, ’Boss Hui—no, Brother Hui, are you even of legal age?’

’Nonsense, isn’t this game 18+?’ Eldest Brother Hui rolled his eyes, burped cutely, sounding like a baby.

’Brother Baozi, since this game is 18+, does that mean there’s 18+ content?’ a member of Baozi Squad suddenly chimed in.

’Of course there is, Sister Ji—cough cough, but that’s not the point,’ Baozi quickly got back on track.

’So, Eldest Brother Hui, why are you drinking milk every day?’

Without saying a word, Eldest Brother Hui handed that glass of milk to the other.

Baozi took it and checked its attributes.

High-Genetic Milk: A dairy product formulated from the milk of advanced organisms, each consumption of ten cups increases attribute points by 1

Note 1: This milk works only on biological juveniles

Note 2: The effect of this milk decreases with increased consumption

’Holy crap, milk that permanently increases attribute points!’

Baozi reluctantly returned the cup of milk.

’I also want a drink!’

’That might be a bit difficult.’

’Why?’

’It’s human milk.’

”Cough, cough, cough, what!?” Baozi’s face turned red from coughing.

”Do you know about the Cloud Nobility?”

”I think I’ve heard the Boss mention it, planetary tycoons, right.”

”Planetary tycoons—”

Eldest Brother Hui was silent for a moment, then said, ”Pretty much. In terms of indulgence, these people are among the best on this planet. This high gene milk is something they produce through cloning technology, meticulously concocted with advanced biological genes and produced by breast-milk people. Each wet nurse has a limited daily production, and they can only drink the freshest, otherwise, it leads to genetic collapse and developmental deformity. The old man spent quite a fortune to get this little bit of milk.”

Baozi looked up and sighed, ”People like us, ’normal folk,’ always feel out of place with these twisted NPCs. See, this is 18+ content.”

”Boss Baozi,” a player named ’Rich Lady’s Little Wolf Dog’ suddenly spoke up.

”What’s up?”

”Seems like we’re being watched.”

Eldest Brother Hui frowned slightly, waved his little paw lightly, and in the next moment, the vehicle’s holographic map appeared, projecting a real-time synchronization of the area within 3 miles, including the vehicles on the road, buildings on both sides, traffic lights, etc.

Nightless City had already achieved ’whole city automated driving.’ Once you get on the highway, you can mark your destination and enter autopilot mode. The Mechanical Main Brain takes over your vehicle, allowing you to take a nap in the car without worry.

The chance of a car accident is lower than getting struck by lightning.

However, in the holographic projection, a figure was leaping across the rooftops of different vehicles, quickly approaching their location.

Because all the highways in Nightless City operate in a super magnetic suspension mode, once you’re on the highway, wheels become useless. The entire vehicle is semi-suspended on the high-speed magnetic track, as if an invisible track is pulling you along.

Kobayashi Hideyuki descended from the sky, landing heavily on the roof of a car. Amidst the explosion, glass shattered in all directions, sinking the entire vehicle.

This Mechanical Blade Master looked up and saw the luxury car 300 meters away, revealing a bloodthirsty smile.

”So this guy is a Dual Blade Style user,” Rich Lady’s Little Wolf Dog muttered.

”Damn!” Baozi rolled down the window, pulled out a cannon, adjusted the direction of the tracking bullets, and with a ’whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh’ sound, six micro tracking rockets, trailing white smoke, shot toward the opponent.

Kobayashi Hideyuki remained calm, drawing another Intelligent Tachi. He inserted the hilt into the middle, making a unique form, a ’Double-Headed Tachi,’ with the blades swirling and energy blade marks flickering in mid-air, like lightning but more stable, like flames but more condensed.

As the tracking rockets closed in, Kobayashi Hideyuki closed his eyes, slightly squatted down.

In the next moment, within a hundred meters, countless blade lights from the Tachi flashed like mad, slicing the tracking rockets as soon as they entered the range.

In the high-speed corridor, numerous unmanned cars were either blasted by the explosive aftermath or shredded by the stray blade lights, causing a series of car crashes.

Dual Blade Water Slash (Expert): A wide-range slash technique that ingeniously combines energy weapons and melee weapons into an advanced Ninja Technique.

”Holy crap, a large-scale charge-up AOE!”

Eldest Brother Hui remained quite composed, even a bit surprised as he looked at Baozi.

”Micro rockets, your weapon’s pretty advanced.”

”Heh, it’s all discounted stuff, all discounted,” Baozi instinctively played humble, then immediately snapped back, breaking out in a cold sweat, blurting out, ”Boss Hui, use any trick you’ve got quickly, otherwise we’re done for.”

”Number 12, 31, 51.”

”Yes, Young Master.”

Three ’Mafia’ members stood up voluntarily, opened the car doors, and jumped out.

The next moment, gunshots, blade lights, flames, and various explosions could be heard clearly even inside the car.

Unlike players who go down with a single strike, these three level 10 ’Godfather Guards’ were relatively tough, requiring three slashes to finish one off, and their weapon hits could actually chip away at the Mechanical Blade Master’s blood volume.

Most crucially, before being cut down, these three ’Godfather Guards’ would charge madly, and the bomb implanted within them would explode simultaneously, causing area damage, several times the damage numbers of mini tracking rockets.

Every time a guardian fell, Eldest Brother Hui’s eye twitched a little.

With such a desperate strategy, even someone as strong as Kobayashi Hideyuki seemed a bit embarrassed as he came bursting out of the explosion aftermath, the surface of his Mechanical Body charred.

”I want you all dead!!!”

Kobayashi Hideyuki roared with anger, the dual blades separated, and apparently using some kind of acceleration skill, he madly charged toward the ’stretched limo,’ no longer needing the aid of vehicle rooftops, stepping in mid-air as if his feet were wrapped in a layer of transparent gas.

Even Eldest Brother Hui’s expression turned serious at this, drawing the ’micro handgun’ from his waist.

”It’s a do or die, whether we can hold on depends on this wave!”

Unexpectedly, the player named ’Rich Lady’s Little Wolf Dog’ suddenly opened the car door, aimed his palm at the incoming Mechanical Blade Master, his forearm began transforming, palm splitting into two halves, revealing a cannon barrel, and in the next moment, a rocket double the size of the ’micro tracking rocket’ fired out.

”It’s a Neon Rocket, close your eyes!”

Baozi recognized it as his own store’s specialty and hurriedly closed his eyes.

The next moment, the Neon Rocket was sliced in half by the blade light, and simultaneously, an ear-piercing glow, a hundred times brighter than a flash grenade, erupted on the highway.

’How do you know this player?’

Eyes shut, Eldest Brother Hui whispered to Baozi.

’Recruited from the forum.’

’Forum? What criteria?’

’Account deposits.’

Eldest Brother Hui understood, realizing Baozi recruited a high-roller.

Faced with such a large-range flash grenade, even Kobayashi Hideyuki was caught off guard, slamming heavily into the truck behind, losing over a thousand blood points.

By the time he reacted, the ’stretched limo’ was long gone, leaving only countless vehicles racing on the lane.

”This is seriously infuriating!”

Kobayashi Hideyuki gritted his alloy teeth.

Meanwhile, on Red Leaf Street, Gao Gong’s eyes shimmered with a stream of data, smiling as he looked at the newly remodeled mechanical girl.

”Come on, try out your new body.”
