Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

The players were dumbfounded.

Are the cutscenes always this thrilling now? We were just here to turn in a mission.

Those players deeply immersed in the game instantly felt as if their G-spot had been bitten.

Defying the whole world, this feeling is so dang edgy, I love it!

Meanwhile, seasoned players like Baozi and Eldest Brother Hui immediately caught onto a few keywords.

Xiao Yu, us, Land of Starfire.

So, does this mean there’s more than one NPC like Xiao Yu?

Baozi immediately thought of his boss. Is he one too?

Definitely is!

They’re absolutely related!

The cold Prosthetic Doctor and the mechanical loli, too bad Pi Pi isn’t here, or I’d ship them to death.

And then there were quite a few players with nothing on their minds but one thought—

Books, books, more books!

Say it three times for importance!!!

For the boss’s edgy lines, someone as straightforward as Xiao Yu naturally loved them, reciting everything in one go, without feeling back or leg aches, and her acting rose to another level.

She listed ten names in a row.

”Though you are but a spark, for daring to challenge mighty gang powers, I acknowledge your courage and am willing to bestow upon you protective strength, hoping we can one day meet again in a great endeavor.”

Xiao Yu began teaching ’Basic Mechanical Skill,’ a ’fitness exercise’ she had mastered since age six, finding it not difficult at all to instruct others.

Soon, a ’ding’ sound was heard.

The player panels of ten players now included a skill for ’Basic Mechanical Skill.’

Basic Mechanical Skill: Operational techniques for low-level mechanical bodies, mechanical body efficiency +10%, burst +5%

Note: This mechanical operation skill holds a grand vision; the only question is whether you possess enough aptitude to advance it to profound realms.

Another ’ding’ sound, and the third task phase popped up.

[Task Phase Four: Battle Angel Xiao Yu’s Trial]

Difficulty: Challenging-

Task Summary: Faced with an almost unbeatable Mechanical Blade Master, all you can do is invite the mysterious mechanical girl Xiao Yu for support. But bound by an oath, she won’t easily leave Red Rain Street. Find a way to draw her out.

Task Objective: Invite Battle Angel Xiao Yu to assist in defeating the Welfare Gang.

Task Reward: Experience +1000, guidance from Xiao Yu

”Hero Xiao, Miss Xiao, Sister Xiao, we’re so miserable, the Welfare Gang...”

”Goddess, that Fatty Gao is badmouthing you everywhere and even says he’d marry you...”

”Mom, I’m begging you on my knees...”

A chorus of complaints from players painted the Welfare Gang as a criminal syndicate extending throughout all crime laws, harassing grandmothers and robbing children of lollipops, the accusations of nefariousness infuriated Xiao Yu to the brink of a verbal surrender.

Fortunately, Gao Gong’s advice took hold, leading Xiao Yu to deeply inhale, and steadily declare, ”I vowed only to protect this land of sparks, unless I see further potential within you all.”

”If three of you can withstand three of my moves, I may consider leaving this block.”

So it turned out to be a round challenge.

”Who among you will go first?” Baozi glanced around, finally resting his gaze on Eldest Brother Hui, Zhang Aiping, and Lingling Water.

The Godfather’s Son, Business Assassin, Business Investigator, three hidden professions, not quite the heavenly start, but a solid foundation nonetheless.

The trio’s expressions varied, yet shared in the confidence radiating from each.

Just three moves—how could they not hold up!

Eldest Brother Hui stood, drawing a pistol, with a small dagger in the other hand spinning rapidly, turning into a silver blur.

Zhang Aiping’s lantern shone, revealing a stream of sensory code as its light.

And Lingling Water, unsheathing a blade from his back, inserted two contact wires from the hilt into his wrist. Although a basic model, it was evidently an Intelligent Blade.

”Damn, a high-tier player is taking action!”

”Go for it, Mechanical Blade Sister!”

”Bro, your allegiance seems misguided?”

”Damn, I only have two allegiances: stand with or repel the sister. How am I supposed to choose?”

”Great car, just ran right over my face.”

The players were still quite confident, given it was merely the third task phase, and from any angle, should be no biggie for them high-end players, right? Right? Right!

Ten minutes later, the three high-end players collapsed on the ground at once.

The pacifier of Eldest Brother Hui fell to the ground, convulsing at the corners of his mouth. Zhang Aiping’s lantern extinguished, eye twitching, and Lingling Water, staring at the hack-scattered blade, had a trembling face.

As for the onlooking passersby, they exchanged confused looks, mouth agape.

Darn, it’s just a trial, does it have to be this hard!

...

Through an alt account, Gao Gong, who watched the massacre unfold, displayed a smug smile.

Three-template monsters—no way you can beat them now.

Forget now—still likely you can’t even at level 60.

Having a template vs not having one, though—that’s an entirely different matter.

”This can keep players engaged for three days. After which, all fallen players will revive, yet neither the Welfare Gang nor the Evil Gang can escape a devastating blow regardless of who prevails.”

”Whilst the clams and storks fight, the fisherman profits.”

”Not going to help me farm the blueprint? Fine, I’ll get it myself!”

’Brother shouldn’t swear.’

Suddenly, Gao Gong heard Gao Yuanyuan’s voice in his mind.

”Oh, you can sense the outside now?”

’Yeah! I’ve figured out ’Advanced Neural Shuttling.’ While I can’t leave brother’s body just yet, I can somewhat sense the outside.’

”You learn so fast.”

’Heehee,’ Gao Yuanyuan’s lively voice came again, ’Is brother going to the Evil Gang territory?’

”Indeed, I’m planning to, you can sense my thoughts now?”

”Yeah, I’ll take brother there.”

With this, two slender phantom arms extended from Gao Gong’s temple, covering his eyes.

Gao Gong immediately felt his body sink backward.

When he regained consciousness, he found himself amidst thick fog.

”Advanced Neural Shuttling, this skill is practically instant teleportation within cyber space!”

The Rich Lady Love Prototype straightened its collar, heading into the depths of the fog.

’Brother, why does it seem like you’ve gotten shorter?’

”I’m not only shorter, but handsomer too.”

’Heehee, brother has no shame, still boasting.’

”Haha, you caught me off-guard.”

...

At the Red Dream Club, Sister Ji was aimlessly wandering through the 3D area when a bionic server suddenly approached.

”Sister Ji, three drinks to Room 4.”

”Can I not go?” Sister Ji yawned.

”No, these are very important guests.”

”Alright then.”

Sister Ji shrugged, carried the tray to the room, skillfully pushed open the door, and surprisingly saw the club owner, Lady Red Dream.

There appeared to be three people sitting in the dimly lit corner.

Lady Red Dream glanced at Sister Ji, smiled, and said, ”Regarding the matter with Mr. G, have you three reconsidered? Do you really want to side with the Welfare Gang to the end?”

Mr. G, this Muscle Dominator, who could he be? The name rings a bell.

Oh right, isn’t this Boss Baozi?

Looks like this boss is the initiator of the quest chain, huh.

Someone aims to deal with him?

After a round of processing, Sister Ji was stunned, with four dazzling golden words popping into her mind.

Hidden Plot!!!
