Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Capsule Man H opened his eyes in confusion, seeing a stark white metal wall just three centimeters away.

What happened?

H rarely found himself in a state of bewilderment.

It wasn’t that he had forgotten anything; he actually clearly remembered what happened last night.

This was very strange, because after ’Body Hosting’, no matter what the host did to him, he was always unaware. He vaguely recalled that the worst time he woke up missing a testicle.

But he still couldn’t remember what had happened.

Yet this time, his memory had not been erased!

He remembered his body being implanted with a ’map function’, automatically arriving in front of a red bar, then his consciousness being controlled, decomposed into sensory data, and hacked.

The invasion failed, and he was sawed from head to foot by a girl idol with very white thighs. At the time, his thought was that his other testicle couldn’t be saved.

Then he just woke up.

His long-immobile arm trembled like an old man’s due to muscle atrophy when he moved.

But the most basic tactile sense still remained.

He felt for the ’coffin opening button’, a sound of springs pulling, and his ’bed’ ejected.

He was greeted by a dim light and a pungent smell of formalin.

Looking around, similar flesh storage chambers covered all four walls.

This was a Capsule Man living unit in the Old Town District, formerly a morgue of an ancient hospital.

The scene was silent.

A pin drop could be heard.

This is not surprising, unless there’s body hosting, Capsule Men never go outside; the false world is mad and perilous; only in reality can they find themselves.

Using the reflection on the metal cabinet, H saw a scrawny youth with injection and test marks on his arms and head, and large patches of yellow eye mucus and thick phlegm residue on his face.

H stifled his nausea and looked down, a hard drive was inserted into his abdomen.

A hard drive?

In H’s impression, after a failed invasion, the body hosting agreement would automatically end, and these Capsule Men would each return home as per the predetermined program.

Then, a sudden pain in his abdomen awakened the flood of supposedly vanished memories.

His damaged neural system couldn’t handle this density of information, and he fainted once again.

When he woke up again, it was now.

The surface of the hard drive protruding from his abdomen seemed to have words engraved on it: ’Code’, ’Crack’.

H didn’t understand, nor did he want to. He skillfully inserted the nutrition tube into his throat, donned the helmet, pressed the close button, and the corpse drawer slowly shut.

Amid the kaleidoscope of code changes, countless beautiful female companions beckoned and smiled at him as a simple-minded youth re-entered the ’real world’.

Kobayashi Hideyuki was carried back, sparks constantly erupting from the lightweight exoskeleton, knife marks deep enough to expose bone, the palm-shaped knife holder pierced through the palm all the way to the implant chip on the shoulder. The right shoulder had a big hole gouged out, wires, connectors, signal receivers were visible inside, but the Combat Chip was missing.

Apart from the right arm, the most severe injury was probably the left eye, the latest tactical prosthetic eye on the market, the ’Red Pill’, was split in two.

What was more troublesome, Gao Jin saw fear in the opponent’s other eye.

This emotion shouldn’t have existed, not only fear but also joy, sadness, surprise, disgust, and the like.

The Kobayashi Clan’s Ninja Realm training chisels away most of the family members’ emotions, only when dealing with a target does the artificially suppressed human hormones surge wildly.

This pleasure was equivalent to taking ten times the dose of a mental drug.

So, every member of the Kobayashi Clan was a task maniac, a murderous devil.

But now, the opponent’s eyes showed fear and desolation.

This could only mean one thing: Kobayashi Hideyuki’s ’Ninja Realm’ was broken.

Gao Jin directly ignored the opponent and coldly said to another member of the Kobayashi Clan.

”Who did it!?”

”It was a girl called Angel!”

”Angel?” Gao Jin repeated the name a few times in his mouth, an odd name, more importantly, how come he’d never heard of such a formidable person emerging in the Outer City District?

Linking it to the identity of Gao Gong, Gao Jin’s expression immediately darkened.

The Prosthetic Doctor was notoriously fearsome, not because of his own strength but because he could manufacture a small army at any time or create a super strong force at any cost if he wished.

”Challenging this old man?!” Gao Jin gritted his teeth, his eyes turning black.

Lady Red Dream defected, Boss Hong retreated, and the three Marshals he hired were crippled in one night.

In addition to Kobayashi Hideyuki’s heavy injuries, the advanced combat power of the Welfare Gang was actually left with only him.

”Dragon Head, Master, no, Mr. G has sent a battle challenge!”

...

Baozi swallowed saliva, looking at two rows of glaring sabers, the four-meter-long Yanyue Saber buzzing, equipped with ’external mechanical-electrical plugins’ at the hilt. These plugins enhanced damage against drones, mechas, robots, and belonged to a category of advanced plugins.

And the controllers of these mechanical sabers were combat robots, each two stories tall, dressed like Lord Guan.

Robots paired with a Guan Saber, it’s like white hair matched with black stockings, the visual impact couldn’t be stronger!

Anyway, Baozi was stunned until a gangster at the door impatiently pushed him, snapping him back to reality. He took a deep breath and walked in with a serious face.

Gao Jin sat in the main seat, observing Baozi with keen interest.

”I know you, you’re the little apprentice under the Master.”

”That’s right, I’m Mr. G’s messenger, here to deliver a challenge!”

Baozi declared righteously, even though he was surrounded by high-level NPCs above level 20, he didn’t care.

As a player, I’m not afraid of death, and the message delivery quest comes with a death compensation reward, which is quite generous. He even hoped they would kill him.

Gao Jin glanced at the letter, the same one he sent over during his birthday banquet, with only a few lines written on the back about the time and place for the showdown.

The time is tomorrow, and the location is in the territory of the former Wild Wolf Gang, now a construction site. There are several large demolition areas, which could be completely wrecked without any issues.

Gao Jin rubbed his chin and suddenly spoke, ”Actually, I always had a question I wanted to ask the Master.”

Baozi paused, ”Go ahead.”

”I’m giving him trouble on solid grounds, but he’s looking for trouble with me, even spending heavily on so many helpers, what is the reason?”

It wasn’t that ’heavy’, as long as the experience points were enough.

Baozi, as the only player to experience the ’full story’, fell into thought upon hearing this.

If you say it’s the Welfare Gang targeting our boss.

Naturally, there is, but this targeting only downgraded Prosthetic Doctor from White Paper Fan; if they really wanted to shout and kill, that didn’t happen.

The boss never wanted to suck up to the Welfare Gang, so theoretically, he wouldn’t care much about their fickle attitude.

Moreover, when fighting the Welfare Gang, the boss’s store was blown up, resulting in no benefits. He even had to ’pay out of pocket’ for various enhanced transformations for players.

Thinking about it, the only possible reason was actually upholding justice?

In the psychic drugs processing plant, players saw ordinary people kidnapped for drug trials, resulting in mental disorders.

In the torture chambers, those tortured beyond human form.

In the arcade, the ’consumers’ who were led astray and became addicted.

In the organ-selling spot, the scenes were completely pixelated and didn’t need further description.

Plus, Xiao Yu Little Angel physically cared for those drug experiment victims day by day.

There are witnesses and evidence!

Well, boss, I never expected you to be this kind of person, I always thought you were just an ordinary devious old schemer.

Didn’t realize your bloodthirst was hidden so deep!

Thinking about this, Baozi raised his head seriously and said word by word: ”For justice!”

When I Love Eating Buns returned to the Dao Field with head held high, he wasn’t greeted by flowers and applause, but by criticism lamenting his alive and anger at his survival!

”Baozi, why aren’t you dead yet!”

”So many task rewards given to you is such a waste.”

”Such a good temporary task, how did it get assigned to you, what’s your affinity score?”

”Scum! Trash! Beast!”

Baozi was overwhelmed by this group of idiots, eyes rolling, ”I just delivered a letter, what’s the big deal? Besides, if they don’t get lethal, what can I do?”

”Run into the gun’s mouth, stupid!”

”Curse that fat gang leader, call him a fat pig.”

”I remember you used to be quite provocative, why isn’t it working this time?”

Baozi was furious and was about to retort when Xiao Yu Little Angel pushed through the crowd. She walked in with a solemn face and said, ”Baozi, I didn’t expect you to be so brave, delivering a letter alone. I’m impressed!”

[Xiao Yu’s affinity for you +50]

Huh, is there a hidden reward for this quest?

”By the way, this is the loot I confiscated yesterday. I don’t need it, but I think you might find it useful.”

Baozi dumbly accepted what she handed over.

[You’ve obtained the implanted Combat Chip · Red Shadow]

Red Shadow (Rare): The latest model of combat plugin on the market, find a matching connector or intelligent weapon, it can unleash unimaginable performance

”Whoa, a legendary level plugin!”

”What legend, it’s just rare,” Baozi quickly refuted.

”If I kill you now, would it drop gear?”

”What do you say I try out this game’s PK mode?”

Baozi saw the situation wasn’t good and quickly ran away as fast as he could.

The other players chased after him relentlessly, with a look as if saying if they don’t buy us off, they’ll beat me to death.

Second-floor window

”Hehe, boss, it’s pretty lively here,” Xiaoju laughed and closed the window. ”Before President Du left, he was worried you wouldn’t eat well or sleep well.”
