Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Generally speaking, to gauge the strength of a gang in Nightless City, you can confirm it from several aspects. For instance, its existence period, its headline frequency, and its troublemaking level.

The third is the focus.

The last time the Evil Gang made the news was because of its eerie spokesperson who made some eerie statements.

’...The Evil Gang is an organization with idealism. Our goal is to break the illusionary Utopian society and awaken the whole world from the Cyber Network.’

Aside from their boss being baptized, joining some street religion, or the gang being hit by strange viruses, there’s another possibility—they’re conducting group experiments.

Experimental research that only large corporations can conduct.

In fact, after getting wind that the Evil Gang was trying to snatch that ’Franchise Certificate’ from the Welfare Gang, Gao Jin immediately organized a team, invaded Dalong Street and Counterfeit Street controlled by the Evil Gang, trying to physically eliminate the opponent.

However, that team never returned after going.

According to monitors installed on prosthetics by another Prosthetic Doctor from the Welfare Gang, Miss Sakura, the team didn’t die. Instead, they were brainwashed the instant they stepped into the opponent’s territory.

This is what Gao Jin fears the most.

If it were just a physical confrontation, Gao Jin wouldn’t be afraid at all. After all, this is someone who could conquer ten streets with his iron fists.

But if the opponent used some peculiar methods, Gao Jin couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t fall for it.

This is why he shamelessly requested Gao Gong’s help once again.

As for the series of promises made, such as Street Technology data, gang resources, and personal rights, they don’t even need to be mentioned as his attitude was utterly deferential.

Gao Gong neither accepted it nor refused, only saying he would take a look.

”Boss, the one who just left, was it the leader of the Welfare Gang?”

As soon as the other party left, Baozi immediately came up, gossiping.

This is a high-level NPC, a top-tier gang boss.

Gao Gong scrutinized him from head to toe, and this gaze made Baozi feel uncomfortable, as though he was being seen through completely.

He had long known that this NPC in front was out of the ordinary, not because he was a Prosthetic Doctor, nor because of his handsome appearance, but because of his aura.

That was the aura of an old schemer.

Any NPC with such an aura is definitely the version’s darling.

As an experienced player, Baozi was very confident about this.

”I have a very dangerous mission for you, but I’m not sure if you are qualified.” Gao Gong said in an ambiguous tone.

The mission might even be a hidden one!

Baozi puffed up his chest, ”Absolutely, Boss. No matter what kind of mission, if you hand it over to Little Bao, it will definitely be completed!”

”Really?”

”Really.”

Gao Gong didn’t waste any more words and directly handed him a mission chain.

[Mission First Ring: Dark Melody]

Difficulty: Normal

Mission Summary: The two-facedness of Welfare Gang leader Gao Jin has exhausted Mr. G’s patience. He has come to Nightless City with a big plan, and this plan is about to be implemented. Now, he needs to kick away this little stumbling block in front of him.

Mission Objective: Gather 100 players who have changed professions to prepare for the next stage of planning

Mission Reward: Experience +1000, prosthetic doctor’s job change, clues to the Hunter Camp

Baozi was invigorated. The job change for the hidden profession of prosthetic doctor and the legendary mission chain made him wonder if he was the version’s son since such an important hidden mission fell into his lap with just one casual inquiry.

Moreover, a big plan!

This is definitely the pace for trouble!!!

”Rest assured, Boss, even if it costs me my life, I will surely get you a hundred players!!”

”Go ahead, I’m waiting for your good news, but I’m only giving you three days.”

”No problem!!”

Most mainstream players should have completed their profession changes by now, front-line players should be around level 4 or 5. Although in terms of real combat power, it’s probably only at the level of a gang’s fringe members, the 4th Celestial Calamity’s strength has never been measured by level.

Finally, players have progressed from being unable to truss a chicken to cannon fodder level.

Gao Gong didn’t plan to delay any longer. He wanted to quickly handle the prosthetic doctor’s job change, then start cyber battles with major corporations.

And Baozi, who had just left, immediately went offline and hit the forum, opening Sister Ji’s small group.

Compared to the initial five or six, the group now had more than twenty people, all players handpicked by Sister Ji from various fields. They were all good conversationalists and adept at creative maneuvers. Baozi adored being here.

Most importantly, the vast majority here were familiar faces to Baozi.

As the only or one of few players capable of offering discounts on weapons and prosthetics, Baozi was quite popular, receiving endless streams of flattery every day.

Sure enough, as soon as he came online, he was warmly welcomed.

’Brother Bao is here.’

’Daddy Bao, I want to buy gun mods, can you give me a discount?’

’Little Bao, hehe, grab and hug tightly.’

’Baozi, there’s a rich lady looking to pamper a young hunk, limit of three. Want in?’ Sister Ji said while sending a photo of the Rich Lady.

Thanks to advancements in body modification technology, every rich lady in the Cyber Society is practically a beauty.

With the money and ability to modify, getting beautiful is easy.

’Wow, Sister Ji is sending these tempting photos again.’

’Yeah, I think this game’s ”anti-pervert system” is particularly inhumane, and I’m totally willing!’ Plane sent a series of crying emojis.

Seeing the topic veering off, as the group manager, Baozi swiftly imposed a mute and directly posted the mission.

’Hidden mission, and it’s a large-scale mission. It definitely has a follow-up storyline.’

’Those who want to register, sign up with me. The condition is that you are a player who has changed professions, and each person has to bring four friends to form a five-person squad.’

’For large missions, rules must be set. Players registered with me automatically become squad leaders, initially set at 20 squad leaders. If you have group skills or leadership talents, contact me. Currently, there are four platoon leaders. I’ll take one myself.’

’Also, this group is initially designated as the Squad Leaders’ group. I’ll create a larger group and bring in everyone doing the mission later.’

[I Love Eating Buns has lifted the mute restriction]

As expected, once the ’mute restriction’ was lifted, players went wild.

’A large-scale mission, damn, is this something I can look at?’ Mr. Taichiro

’There’s a large-scale mission at this stage? By the way, who is Mr. G? This nickname sounds really unserious.’ Lingling Water

’Count me in, count me in, take me along!’ I Will Always Love Zhang Aiping

’Baozi, you’re using my group for your mission, is that okay?’ Sister Ji sent a side-eye emoji.

’I’ll give you a platoon leader position ^_^’ I Love Eating Buns

’Alrighty, deal!’

’Wow, what did I see, a shady transaction!’ Red Flower Demon

’Spread the word, Brother Baozi and Sister Ji engaged in shady deals!’

’Spread the word, Brother Baozi and Sister Ji had a physical transaction!’

’Spread the word, Brother Baozi, Sister Ji, and this Mr. G are together getting up to no good!’
