Not Being a Trainer This Time

In the pasture, Naoki and Leon stood at opposite ends of the battleground, staring at each other with fierce determination.

Naoki sent out Gogoat, while Leon dispatched his strongest Charizard, both of them were essentially fighting with open cards.

Some Pokemon were also drawn to watch the battle.

Koraidon, Cyclizar, Pawmot, Garganacl… All gathered to witness this clash.

Even Lei Gong paid attention to the scene from afar, secretly observing the strength of the Rainbow Hero chosen by Ho-oh.

At this moment, Sonia, temporarily acting as referee, walked to the center, glanced around, then smiled and waved her hand, announcing:

“I declare, the battle officially begins!”

“Charizard, let’s go, use Air Blade, slice through the opponent!”

With Leon’s command, Charizard spread its wings, a milky white airstream weaved into several razor-sharp wind blades on its wings, swiftly flying towards Gogoat with a fierce noise.

“Testing the waters?” Naoki slightly smiled: “Gogoat, show Charizard your progress over the years!”

“Meeh!”

In the next second, a surge of green light erupted from Gogoat, instantly enveloping the battlefield and transforming it into a special “Grass Aura.”

Faced with the incoming Air Blade, Gogoat’s body suddenly extended gigantic Vine Whips as thick as pythons, fearlessly meeting the Air Blade.

The two entirely different elemental energies collided in the air.

The sharp Air Blade cut into the resilient Vine Whip but stopped midway, jammed!

The Air Blade was effortlessly neutralized by Gogoat.

“Even when faced with type matching moves, it can achieve such effects; it has indeed improved over the years!”

Leon felt his blood boiling, no longer testing, he went all out immediately.

“Charizard, Flamethrower!”

“Rooar!”

Charizard roared, flapping its wings, diving from midair towards Gogoat, its mouth igniting with intense flames, culminating into a blazing fire beam sweeping down at Gogoat.

The champion level Charizard’s power was, of course, extraordinary.

In almost an instant, Gogoat was engulfed by the scorching flames.

“Great, hit it!”

But before Leon could rejoice for a second, he suddenly noticed green specks in the surrounding air rapidly converging toward Gogoat.

He saw the parts of Gogoat’s body burned by the flames were healing rapidly within that energy!

The damage caused by Charizard wasn’t even more than the stamina Gogoat recovered!

“How could it be?!” Leon was greatly shocked internally. Was this the Grassy Terrain he was familiar with?

But why did this Grassy Terrain have such exaggerated healing effects?

“Seems like the Revival Herb Ball provided Gogoat quite a boost!” Naoki thought to himself.

However, next up is their turn to attack!

“Gogoat, Vine Whip!” Naoki commanded.

In an instant, countless Vine Whips erupted from Gogoat, reaching out to entangle the Charizard in the sky.

Seeing this situation, Leon quickly snapped back: “Quick, dodge it!”

Yet the move failed, as Charizard tried to escape, the Vine Whips had already wrapped around its body, tightly binding Charizard’s limbs and waist, continuously tightening.

Charizard’s face immediately displayed an expression of pain, feeling like its organs were about to be squeezed out.

“Bad! Faced with such a predicament, Leon still quickly reacted: “Charizard, Flare Blitz!”

Charizard forced itself to mobilize the Fire Type energy within.

With a swish, fiery flames erupted from its body, soon engulfing Charizard’s entire body and the Vine Whips wrapped around its waist.

The Vine Whips, forged of Grass Type energy, rapidly combusted under the high temperature, gradually loosening their grip.

Feeling the pressure on its body, Charizard fixed its gaze on Gogoat below, knowing that once it breaks free, it would immediately launch a fiery charge towards Gogoat.

Noticing Charizard’s intent, Naoki instantly understood its plan.

He squinted slightly, seeing Charizard about to break free, quickly instructed: “Don’t give it the chance, Slam it!”

The flames blazing from the Vine Whips suddenly tightened, and before Charizard could react, it felt the force from the Vine Whips around its waist suddenly intensify.

In the next second, the Vine Whips dragged its body fiercely towards the ground.

Leon frowned tightly, “Faster, faster,” his heart was extremely tense.

And just as Charizard was about to crash to the ground, a tremendous blaze surged explosively from its body.

The Blaze Attribute was triggered!

An overwhelming fire instantly incinerated the Vine Whips to ashes, Charizard ascended into the sky, locking eyes with Gogoat below, as it launched forth with burning flames like a divine being, furiously charging at Gogoat.

Witnessing this moment, Leon breathed a sigh of relief, luckily his calculations were correct.

Scorching air currents swept across the ground, Charizard moved rapidly, Naoki hadn’t had time to give a command, and Charizard, empowered by Blaze, had already embraced Gogoat with Dragon Claw, the searing flames spreading instantly.
