Not Being a Trainer This Time

Lono noticed Calyrex’s gaze and couldn’t help but lower her head, gently stroking her belly, thinking:

Everyone is eagerly awaiting your birth, baby, you must grow up healthy!

Levincia Gym, the Central Square damaged in the morning had already been repaired by several Conkeldurr.

Following Geeta’s instructions, Naoki continued to welcome Trainers, scouting talent for the Paldea League.

With the morning live broadcast, Levincia Gym quickly became a hot topic on various forums.

#ZapdosAppears#, #UnbeatenGymBattle# among other tags ranked in the top ten trending topics.

This series of events also attracted more viewers to the live stream.

At 3 p.m., Naoki started the live stream, and numerous bullet comments scrolled by.

[I came for Zapdos, where is it?]

[Is this guy the Gym Leader? Why does he look like a cowboy?]

Naoki didn’t pay special attention, setting up the live stream and beginning to receive challengers.

The first challenger was a girl named Miju, who had only collected one Gym Badge so far.

Naoki sent out Jolteon to battle, while Miju sent out a Sunflora.

As the battle started, Naoki ordered Jolteon to use Thunder Shock.

Facing the incoming Spark, Miju directly had Sunflora use Ingrain.

Sunflora’s feet deeply rooted in the ground, transferring Jolteon’s Thunder Shock underground through its body.

The girl was smart, first deliberately creating a false appearance to lure Jolteon closer, then withstand Jolteon’s Quick Attack while implanting Leech Seed into Jolteon.

Once Jolteon noticed something wrong and retreated, the girl hurriedly ordered Sunflora to use Morning Sun, recovering the energy depleted by Quick Attack.

“Using Ingrain + Leech Seed + Morning Sun for a recovery strategy?” Naoki immediately recognized the girl’s tactics, thinking highly of her; it was the first strategic Trainer he had encountered.

She was only ten years old, traveling with only two Pokemon, clearly having just started her journey.

This clever girl had great talent, matching Geeta’s scouting criteria.

Naoki acknowledged her, knowing countless ways to counter this strategy, but Jolteon’s limited move set made it challenging.

Ultimately, Jolteon fell under the drain of Leech Seed.

Naoki recognized the girl and awarded her his first Gym Badge in office.

“Good luck, your story is just beginning. I’m looking forward to seeing your performance in the Paldea Competition!” Naoki encouraged.

The girl named Miju was excited, thanking repeatedly, “Yes, I will! Thank you so much, Mr. Naoki!”

Naoki smiled slightly, then watched the girl leave with Sunflora.

Meanwhile, in the live stream room, the new viewers watched the immature battle and began questioning in the bullet comments.

[???]

[That’s it? So weak? Jolteon was defeated by a Sunflora? Would you call this the best Gym in Paldea?]

[I don’t think it’s great either? Is it as strong as people say? My Machamp could get the Gym Badge with one hand.]

[Just boasting!]

[You guys must be new here? This Jolteon isn’t the Gym Leader’s strongest Pokemon.]

At this moment, Naoki welcomed the second challenger.

Seeing this, the bullet comments stopped arguing.

[Not his strongest Pokemon? Then let me see what other Pokemon he can send out!]

Everyone was eagerly watching.

This time, the challenger was a boy who had collected three badges, looking as excited and passionate in battle as Ash.

This battle was still 1v1.

Jolteon had just battled, so Naoki decided to let it rest for a bit, sending out Pikachu for the next match.

The boy sent out a large Donphan.

As the battle began, Naoki instructed Pikachu to use Iron Tail on Donphan.

As Pikachu approached, the boy quickly ordered Donphan to use Bulldoze.

The ground started to shake violently, Earth Power surged towards Pikachu, causing it to stagger and fall.

“Now, Donphan, Rollout!”

The boy commanded, Donphan curled up, its massive body formed a gray tire, rolling towards Pikachu.

Pikachu used Agility to dodge in panic, but Donphan chased closely behind.

Naoki attempted to have Pikachu use Iron Tail on the ground to create uneven terrain and interrupt Donphan’s Rollout, but Pikachu was a bit too slow, getting hit by Rollout and thrown aside.

However, Pikachu didn’t lose its ability to fight, as Donphan adjusted direction and attacked again.

After several exchanges, Pikachu finally lost its ability to battle.

“Your Donphan has trained specifically for Rollout, hasn’t it?” After the battle, Naoki inquired.

“Yes, that’s right!” The boy nodded.

Naoki was satisfied, knowing how to use type matchups and training Pokemon accordingly, he saw this person as a good Trainer too.

“Congratulations, you’ve passed the challenge, and this Electric-type Badge is yours!”

Naoki handed out the second Gym Badge.

The boy joyfully accepted it.

As witnesses to this, the bullet comments were once again filled with question marks.

[Is this not his strongest Pokemon? It seems this Pikachu isn’t that strong either?]

[The comment above must be a fool, isn’t it normal for a Gym Leader to send out Pokemon of equivalent strength when facing new Trainers? Haven’t you fought a Gym battle before?]

[Heh, what’s the hype about being the best Gym in Paldea? Just a glance, really?]

[Don’t believe it, everyone ignore it, speaking more with such people is useless; they think they’re strong, yet not as good as even Naoki’s hair, just talking online, probably would be scared wet if they saw Zapdos.]

Meanwhile, in the Unova Region, in a luxurious mansion villa.

A young man in fancy clothes was trembling with anger from the comments he read.

The young man named Riot, the offspring of a prestigious family in Unova Region, was raised with exceptional education, starting to train his own Pokemon at four years old.

At ten years old, Riot traveled freely and collected eight badges with his Pokemon, becoming the League Competition Champion that year.

Now, seeing the folk in the live stream room dare to mock him so lightly, Riot slammed his fist hard on the keyboard in front of him.

Unacceptable! How dare these people… How dare they!

When he became the Champion after defeating everyone, these guys were probably playing hide and seek somewhere!

Alright, great.

Riot was enraged, given these folks dared to say such things, he decided to fly personally to Paldea to prove his strength to them.

How could a mere Gym Leader compare with him, a Competition Champion?

[You all wait! I’m flying to Paldea now to challenge and see if he’s as strong as you say!]

After quickly typing and sending this message in the live stream room, Riot shut off the computer and stood up.

He took his six Poke Balls, gruffly leaving the room, ready to use his six Pokemon to teach that self-proclaimed strongest Gym Leader in Paldea a lesson, proving it to those countryside folk!

However, his demeanor caught the old butler’s attention.

The old butler quickly stepped forward to inquire: “Young master, what’s going on?”

“Uncle An, arrange a flight to Paldea immediately! No need to ask further, I’m going there for important matters!”

The old butler was taken aback; the young master was always proud, antisocial, and never traveled to other regions, thinking ordinary things didn’t match his noble status.

But now, the young master suddenly wanted to go out…

Well, the young master is old enough, he surely has his reasons.

With this thought, the old butler hurriedly arranged the flight per the young master’s instructions.

Soon, a helicopter flew from afar, landing in the manor’s courtyard.

Riot boarded the aircraft, instructing the pilot to fly to the Paldea Region.
