Not Being a Trainer This Time

Such high-quality honey made Naoki feel a bit conflicted about what kind of dish to create.

Honey cake, honey lemonade, honey yuzu tea, honey cheese…

Naoki turned to Lono in the living room and asked, “What would you like to eat?”

“Huh?” Lono was taken aback for a moment.

Naoki smiled and said, “I mean the type of dessert you want, whether cake, sweet juice, or something else entirely.”

Lono thought carefully and replied, “Candy, I want to eat candy!”

Candy? Naoki was slightly surprised; he’d made honey gummies with honey and Nomel Berries before.

“Can we make it?” Lono looked over eagerly.

“Of course we can.” Naoki nodded with a smile, just when there weren’t many desserts at home, he could use this opportunity to make more for Alcremie and Ogerpon to enjoy.

Naoki returned to the kitchen, looking at the bottle of golden honey in front of him, a plan suddenly came to mind.

The honey brewed by the Combee is quite special; it combines the fragrance of flowers with the essence of honey, having a thick texture and golden color, but not as overly sweet as ordinary honey, more like a flowing center.

Indeed, many dessert shops use honey as the flowing center in candies and bread.

Take a bite, and fully flowing center bursts out, filling the mouth with a sweet taste that makes one feel unexpectedly happy.

Given this, he decided to make some honey flowing center gummies!

Naoki took MooMoo Milk from the Miltank out of the cupboard, along with a bag of white sugar and a bottle of water, placing them into the pot to simmer.

Once it’s almost cooked, he added edible brown coloring matching Teddiursa’s fur and mint syrup, then stirred them evenly.

Next, he poured these into a mold, specially ordered for making honey gummies before, shaped like a chibi version of a Teddiursa head.

“Glaceon, come and lend a hand!” Naoki called out towards the outside.

Quickly, Glaceon appeared in front of the kitchen: “Gleee?”

Naoki picked it up to the stovetop, and Glaceon couldn’t help but let out an exclamation.

“Gleee!”

Naoki put it down and said, “Use Icy Wind on this mold, but don’t go full force, just a bit of power will do.”

“Gleee…” Upon hearing, Glaceon gently opened its mouth, releasing a cold airflow.

Under the influence of the cold wind, the syrup in the mold quickly cooled and solidified.

“Alright—leave the rest to me!”

Naoki called it off in time and then poured honey into it, and finally added another layer of syrup on top, folding the mold to set the candy.

Lastly, he handed the finishing touches to Glaceon.

Soon, dozens of honey flowing center gummies were completed.

When Naoki opened the mold, a bunch of chibi Teddiursa gummies appeared in front of him and Glaceon.

At a glance, the information about these gummies emerged in Naoki’s mind.

“Huh?” Naoki was surprised to see the effects of these candies; Honey Gatherer… that’s indeed a nice effect for the Combee.

He initially thought just to make casually, but didn’t expect such a pleasant surprise.

What a good thing!

Naoki picked up a honey flowing center gummy and held it in front of Glaceon.

Glaceon hesitated a bit but opened its mouth to eat the gummy.

As soon as it entered its mouth, Glaceon instinctively bit down.

The next moment, the flowing center exploded, filling the mouth with a sweet aroma.

Glaceon immediately opened its eyes wide, with a face full of disbelief.

“Pretty good, right?” Naoki smiled and handed it a few more gummies, then placed the rest on a white porcelain plate and took them to the living room.

“These are honey flowing center gummies, give them a try?” Naoki looked at Lono.

Lono curiously picked up a gummy and tried biting it, her face immediately showing the same expression as Glaceon.

It bursts with syrup!

Inside is honey!

“Amazing!” Lono’s eyes lit up instantly.

“Then have more.” Naoki handed the remaining gummies to Koraidon and Lono’s Bellibolt who were also curious, then took the rest to the farm, found the Combee in the flower field, and fed the candies to them.

The Combee were very happy, buzzing around Naoki.

“It’s made from the honey you brewed; how do you feel? If you like it, I’ll make more.” Naoki asked.

The Combee nodded repeatedly.

“Buzz, buzz, buzz!”

They quickly turned around and began gathering nectar, helping Naoki brew more honey for making these candies.

Seeing the Pokemon truly favor them, after lunch, Naoki didn’t go elsewhere but stayed at home specially to make these honey gummies.

In one afternoon, he made a large pack of flowing center gummies, then placed them under the cupboard for any Pokemon to take if they wanted.

Once everything was settled, it was already three thirty in the afternoon.

Summer arrived, the weather outside gradually turned hot, and behind the hill often came the sound of cicadas.

Though the temperature was somewhat high, winds often blew from Glaseado Mountain through the farm, so it wasn’t as sweltering as some big cities.

Whenever this happened, the Pokemon would come outside to enjoy the afternoon on the grass, watch the stream by the river, or lie under the shade quietly for a nap.

Notably, Lei Gong also stayed at the farm during this period.

However, Naoki still didn’t know why Lei Gong always stayed on the grass outside the house, doesn’t come near his house or people, lying all day on the grass, like a cat secretly observing from an unnoticed corner.

Every time Naoki and Lei Gong’s eyes meet, Lei Gong would instinctively look away, pretending to enjoy the scenery.

Just like now.

When Naoki looked at it, it turned its head, and no one knew what Lei Gong was thinking.

Naoki: “…”

Such a peculiar Pokemon.

“Seems necessary to let Lei Gong appear, familiarize each other through cooperation with challengers.” Naoki thought.

He made up his mind that if he met a suitable trainer during work tomorrow, he would let Lei Gong try.

Thinking of this, Naoki carried a plate of honey flowing center gummies and walked towards Lei Gong.

Lei Gong’s gaze wandered everywhere except Naoki, pretending not to see him.

Until Naoki placed the plate of honey flowing center gummies in front of it.

“Taste this, I just made it.”

Lei Gong finally turned around and looked at the snacks placed before him.

Naoki didn’t bother Lei Gong further, once delivering the snacks he went over to the Breeding Tree House for a look.

Lono was asleep in the tree house, her face gave off a serene feeling, she slept soundly, and Magnemite accompanied her, floating beside and sleeping soundly too.

Seemingly sensing someone arriving, the Magnemite shivered then opened its eyes.

Naoki gestured to keep silent to it, then softly said, “Go back to sleep!”

Before leaving, Naoki covered Lono’s belly, knowing the temperature would drop around four or five o’clock, making it easy to catch a cold.

And just then, Butterfree suddenly flew over.

“Eee!”

“What is it? Did something happen?” Naoki inquired.

Butterfree turned and looked in a direction.

Naoki followed its gaze and saw a man and a woman walking over.

That is… Leon and Sonia?
