Not Being a Trainer This Time

How can this be?

Without Trainers clearing the Levincia Gym challenge, no one can participate in this year’s Paldea tournament.

If no one participates in the Paldea tournament, Paldea won’t be able to attract more talented Trainers.

Without more talented Trainers, the Paldea Region cannot develop…

By then, the commerce, tourism, and other industries across the whole Paldea Region will come to a halt, unable to see any development.

In an instant, Geeta felt as if there was an earthquake in her world.

“We absolutely cannot let such a thing happen!”

Rika twitched her mouth, saying speechlessly: “Your choice, Chief.”

“No, I need to talk to Naoki.”

With that, Geeta took out her Rotom Phone and dialed Naoki’s number.

The call quickly connected, and it seemed Naoki was having lunch, he and Lono accompanied by a large group of Pokemon enjoying a sumptuous lunch around the table.

Seeing it was Geeta, Naoki was a bit surprised: “What’s up? Is there a problem, Chief?”

“Naoki!” Geeta said with a wide smile: “We’re almost there, you don’t need to go all out.”

Naoki understood what it was about right away.

“I haven’t been going all out,” he said.

Geeta: “…”

That seems to be true… Compared to those Electric Type Pokemon, the other Pokemon at Naoki Ranch seem stronger.

Thinking of this, for a moment Geeta didn’t know what to say.

After a while, she spoke again, discussing with Naoki:

“How about this? You don’t need to deliberately lose to them, nor intentionally go easy on them. If you think the opponent is quite capable, or very talented, a person with potential to become a great Trainer, even if they lose, you can still give them the Gym Badge to encourage them to keep moving forward.”

Naoki was slightly taken aback: “Is that okay?”

Geeta nodded with a smile: “Of course, but the premise is that they must have a certain level of talent. I believe you’ll be able to spot it, Naoki.”

Naoki: “…”

“Alright, I understand. I’ll try it this afternoon,” he nodded.

“Great, I’ll leave it to you then!” Geeta smiled and hung up the phone.

“Looks like the Chief was startled by your performance this morning too.” Lono chuckled.

“Good thing you’re not a Dragon-type Gym Leader or Grass-type Gym Leader,” Naoki couldn’t help saying: “Otherwise, those Trainers really wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Grass Type: Calyrex, Gogoat, Gogoat, Gogoat, Ogerpon, Leafeon

Dragon Type: Koraidon, Cyclizar, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite

“It’s all thanks to the first Pokemon I encountered when I was a child being an Electric Type Pokemon!” Lono joked: “If it had been a Dragon-type Pokemon, I might now be a Dragon-type Gym Leader!”

“No worries, in the future we can train our Pokemon to specialize as Dragon Type Trainers.” Naoki imagined: “Then, we can prepare six Dratini for her and let her set out on a journey.”

Starting with six Quasi-Gods, a dream start for countless Trainers!

Plus, Dragonite’s move pool is very broad—Water, Fire, Thunder, Ice, Dragon, Flying, Normal.

Some can even learn moves from Rock, Steel, Poison, Ground, Fighting, Dark, Psychic Types.

More importantly, it can fly.

The only drawback is the long growth period, requiring level 55 in-game to evolve into Dragonite.

But doesn’t matter, by the time the child is born, he’ll prepare a newly hatched Dratini to grow together with her.

Ten years is enough for Dratini to evolve into Dragonite, and when she turns ten, she can set out on a journey on Dragonite, which will accompany and protect her.

Upon entry, she beats all Gym Leaders and seizes the Paldea League Championship, becoming the youngest Champion!

The farther Naoki imagined, the grander.

Lono helplessly patted her belly, saying to the child: “Your dad started again.”

At two thirty in the afternoon, Naoki rode Koraidon to Levincia Gym for work.

Lono stayed home, trimming the flower garden Naoki didn’t finish last time, under the disapproving gaze of her Indeedee sister.

“Indeedee!” Seeing Lono working, her sister Indeedee quickly tried to stop her.

Lono chuckled: “It’s fine, this kind of work isn’t tiring at all, and the Internet says moderate exercise makes the baby healthier.”

“Indeedee?” Her sister Indeedee seemed unsure, planning to ask her brother to check later.

Not far away, Ogerpon happily ran over upon seeing Lono, pulling her hand to invite her into the small garden.

Brother Indeedee took the chance to take over Lono’s work.

Calyrex and Gholdengo were also there, the midday sun was just right, warm and spreading over the flowerbeds, with lingering dewdrops on the petals exuding a refreshing fragrance.

Lono looked at the Indeedee siblings, then at Ogerpon in front, suddenly realizing: “You actually teamed up!”

“Bo-ni~”

Ogerpon joyfully ran around Lono, then pulled out a chair, inviting her to sit down and bask in the sun with everyone.

“Thank you very much!” Lono said while sitting down.

Facing her, Calyrex looked at her abdomen, where a small life was quietly being nurtured.

It was the child of His little follower, and Calyrex’s eyes were full of fondness, genuinely happy for Naoki.
