Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 196: Chapter 179: New Energy Conversion Superpower

Nighttime, inside the traditional courtyard villa.

Lu Li, after returning, took a quick shower and then lay on the bed pondering the issue of quantity change leading to qualitative change.

While thinking, he sent a message to Zhang Guocheng: Mr. Zhang, can I ask you to handle something for me?

He initially thought Zhang Guocheng would be asleep at this hour, and he didn’t expect to hear back immediately after sending the message.

To his surprise, Zhang Guocheng replied almost right away.

Zhang Guocheng: Whatever you need, feel free to say, I’ll get it done right away.

Lu Li, somewhat surprised, replied: You’re not asleep yet?

The other side replied: Director Zhang has gone to bed already, I’m specially assigned to be your liaison, yes, we have three teams here arranged to serve you 24 hours a day.

Oh, so that’s how it is.

Lu Li didn’t expect that side to take him so seriously, arranging 24-hour duty to coordinate with him.

He thought for a moment and typed: My request is relatively simple, but I need a lot of special equipment. I’m wondering if you can arrange them quickly.

The other side replied: Please go ahead.

Lu Li explained his intent: I want to conduct a precise physical test, including aspects like strength, speed, and endurance. Given you’re responsible for liaising with me, you should know that ordinary equipment is far from adequate for testing my strength and speed, so I require some advanced testing equipment.

The opposite side quickly gave an accurate answer: I have some understanding of you, rest assured, I’ll have people set up these testing instruments overnight. I have a small request though, I hope it won’t be a problem if you don’t agree.

Lu Li said: Go ahead.

The other side said: I hope to arrange some people to record your physical test data, is that okay?

Lu Li knew that side had long wanted his specific data.

Normally, to maintain mystery, he certainly wouldn’t agree.

But since he’s preparing for the third physical test, where his physical qualities will see a significant boost, he doesn’t mind letting the opposite side know how powerful he is.

Lu Li agreed: Sure.

The other side immediately said: Alright, the latest by 9 am tomorrow, I’ll have everything you need ready, shall I send someone to pick you up then?

Lu Li provided his address to the other party.

After ending the conversation, he plugged his phone in to charge.

Soon after, Lu Li began pondering over the issue of quantity change leading to qualitative change.

”The precondition for quantitative energy changes leading to qualitative changes is that the energy needs to reach a certain level of urgency.”

Lu Li thought carefully, ”I’ll first try to absorb free energy from the air with full force to see if the energy can reach the necessary amount.”

Thinking this, he prompted his skin and pores to maximize their energy absorption function.

The next moment, Lu Li felt his pores seemingly opening wide, crazily absorbing free energy from the air into his body.

Previously, he hadn’t paid detailed attention to what kind of free energy he was absorbing from the air.

This time, wanting to achieve a qualitative change, Lu Li began to take notice.

He discovered that he was not directly absorbing energy from the air but rather absorbing particles of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and other elements that, upon touching his pores and skin, underwent a series of chemical reactions, directly transforming into energy rays.

This method was somewhat like photosynthesis in plants.

”So after my body evolved, it still wasn’t directly absorbing energy but conducting chemical reactions that caused carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and so on to react chemically.”

Lu Li could deduce that this chemical reaction was essentially still the transformation of carbohydrates into energy.

In other words, developing the function of skin and pores to absorb free energy hadn’t allowed him to ”transcend” but merely changed the way of ”digesting.”

Upon this realization, Lu Li couldn’t help but frown.

”By absorbing energy in this way, it’s likely hard to meet the requirements for a qualitative change.”

It seems he’ll need to develop super abilities that can generate more energy to potentially cause a qualitative change in energy rays.

Lu Li pondered whether he could form an ability within his body similar to a nuclear reactor, thus obtaining more energy?

As he entertained this thought, Little Golden Man signaled its resistance.

It seemed to be indicating that his body couldn’t withstand this energy transformation method.

Lu Li believed Little Golden Man wouldn’t give him such information for no reason.

Thus, developing a nuclear reactor-like ability within his body was currently unrealistic.

He had to settle for the next best option, ”Can I directly absorb various free elements from the air to form high-energy compounds to obtain a greater amount of energy?”

For instance, adenosine triphosphate, which is a high-energy compound.

It consists of adenine, ribose, and three phosphate groups.

Upon hydrolysis, it releases a substantial amount of energy and is the most direct energy source within the organism.

Lu Li felt that if his body could generate a high-energy compound more advanced than adenosine triphosphate, it might solve the energy quantity problem.

But just what kind of substance can meet the requirements?

Lu Li didn’t really understand chemistry...

Ah!

Didn’t I develop consciousness projection before?

Lu Li reflected that he could entirely utilize consciousness projection to simulate a high-energy compound that would be suitable for his body, thus providing himself with more energy.

He activated consciousness projection without hesitation and attempted to develop a more advanced high-energy compound based on the template of adenosine triphosphate.

The simulation was in process.

Spiritual Power consumption was particularly intense.

About two minutes later, when Lu Li felt exceedingly fatigued, consciousness projection finally simulated a brand-new, human-suitable, super high-energy compound.

This high-energy compound bears great similarity in composition to adenosine triphosphate but includes a few additional elements, along with an altered arrangement order.

Lu Li did not immediately test it within his body but instead activated an upgraded version of his micro-eye to start condensing this high-energy compound, to see how much energy could be produced.

The upgraded micro-eye agitated the elements needed for this high-energy compound and condensed one such molecule.

Lu Li used an upgraded version of his micro vision to condense an ATP molecule.

He then proceeded to hydrolyze the ATP molecule to see how much energy could be released.

He observed it quite easily.

Lu Li searched online and discovered that the energy released was 30.54/(6.02*10^23) kj.

Since he already determined how much energy one ATP molecule could release, he just needed to see how much more energy the decomposition of the new high-energy compound would generate compared to one ATP molecule, and he could roughly deduce the result.

Without hesitation, he decomposed the newly condensed high-energy compound.

The next moment, he saw that this high-energy compound produced energy ten times that of ATP!

”Whoa!”

Lu Li’s eyes widened, ”Ten times?”

If the body could indeed directly develop this high-energy compound and convert it into energy, it would certainly satisfy the energy needed for the third deep evolution!

Lu Li immediately gave orders to Little Golden Man to develop a superpower that could directly absorb free elements from the air and convert them into this high-energy compound, and directly convert it into energy.

After receiving the command, Little Golden Man immediately began to operate.

Lu Li didn’t care how Little Golden Man did it and went to sleep with the lights off.

He knew that Little Golden Man would work autonomously and didn’t need his supervision.

...

In the dream.

As before, Lu Li saw Little Golden Man mobilizing energy rays to envelop the whole body, evolving the respiratory system, digestive system, and various other aspects.

With the influence of the energy rays, every cell in Lu Li’s body seemed to change.

During this process, there were times when the energy rays seemed insufficient, and he briefly or for a longer period fell into deep sleep, but once the energy was sufficiently restored, his ”consciousness” woke up again, and he saw Little Golden Man working once more.

This process repeated numerous times.

Lu Li didn’t count the exact times, but he knew it was no less than ten.

This was completely different from every previous superpower development.

Fortunately, after a dozen repetitions, the process was finally completed.

...

Lu Li woke up groggily, feeling physically and mentally fatigued.

He knew it was definitely the evolution of his superpower that caused the physical and mental fatigue.

However, as his skin absorbed various elements from the external environment and converted them into a large amount of energy, the fatigue was quickly alleviated.

Lu Li quickly checked his own condition.

He was surprised to find that his efficiency in absorbing free elements and converting them into energy had increased more than tenfold compared to before.

Originally exhausted energy rays were replenished in no time.

Lu Li observed for a while, ”According to this analysis, the amount of energy I can absorb in one day now is equivalent to what used to take more than ten days, and I never reached a ’full’ energy state for my body before. This may be related to my enhanced physique and the increased energy consumption from daily activities.”

This is similar to a fully charged phone that still consumes power even when left untouched.

Now the ”charging speed” has increased.

Lu Li wanted to see if this would lead to a qualitative change.

If it could, it would mean he could indeed proceed with the third deep evolution.

By the way, what time is it now?

Lu Li didn’t know how much time he had spent developing the superpower.

He picked up his phone and took a look.

He was speechless to find that he had already slept for a full two days.

This was longer than the time he slept during his second deep evolution.

Lu Li thought about it carefully and found it understandable.

After all, this evolution was equivalent to completely changing his body’s way of acquiring energy.

It was a comprehensive evolution of body and mind.

Spending more time was normal.

There were several missed calls and some messages on the phone.

From Liu Kexin, Fiery Baby, Xiaoqing, Xiaozhao, and others.

Of course, the most messages were from Zhang Guocheng.

Lu Li clicked to take a look.

Zhang Guocheng’s general intention was to ask when Lu Li would come over for the test.

Hmm, having slept for two days, he had effectively stood the other party up.

Lu Li hurriedly replied: Sorry, I was quite tired these two days and slept for a long time. I’ll come over for the physical test now, is it convenient for you?

Zhang Guocheng replied quickly: Convenient, I’ll send someone to pick you up right away.

Lu Li replied with ”Okay”, then responded to messages from Liu Kexin and others, and got up to wash up and change his clothes.

While changing his clothes, he was silently pondering whether going for the physical test today would cause too much commotion and shock the people over at 749.

He thought this was very likely.

However, he didn’t have time to get those instruments from elsewhere.

Besides, 749 already knew he was not a common man.

The shock was not important.

The important thing was that he had to get specific physical test data before the third deep evolution, and then do another test after the third deep evolution to see how much his various physical data had grown.
