Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 153: Chapter 142: I Majored in Liberal Arts

In the laboratory.

When Wu Er Mountain uttered those words.

Everyone knew that the upcoming experiment was something they had to do.

In fact, whether it was Shen Xia or the four or five other top physicists from across the country, everyone was genuinely eager for this experiment to proceed.

As long as the experimental results come out, it will prove whether Lu Li’s hypothesis is correct.

Whether it’s correct is actually not important.

The important thing is that there are two potential outcomes.

If it’s wrong, it could waste millions of US Dollars in funding.

But if it’s correct, obtaining the experimental data could save hundreds of millions of dollars!

Naturally, all these physicists were eagerly anticipating today’s ”extra” experiment.

Regardless of the outcome, the fact that Lu Li could get Wu Er Mountain to ”believe” is enough to make a name for himself in the world of physics.

The reason Wu Er Mountain believed in Lu Li wasn’t just about ”betting” on saving funds.

More importantly, Wu Er Mountain held the data Shen Xia mentioned and calculated it internally for quite a while.

The final conclusion was that the data Lu Li provided matched his suggestions.

That is to say, if the set of data Lu Li provided earlier was real, then there indeed were some issues with the devices in the lab.

This is a very significant reason.

The second reason is that Wu Er Mountain is getting old and doesn’t know how long he can hold on. He wants to help the country catch up with Europe’s scientific research footsteps, or even take the next step, while he’s still alive.

That’s why he was so bold, prepared to ”take a gamble.”

While he was thinking, Professor Wang, who was called Xiaowang, came back with a chair.

Lu Li said, ”Thank you,” and then sat down.

Wu Er Mountain gave the order, ”Prepare for the fifteenth experiment, everyone adjust the instruments, and gradually weaken the magnetic fields at the top and bottom of the device as Mr. Lu suggested.”

Lu Li suddenly spoke, ”When I say it’s okay later, you adjust the magnetic field to that level.”

His words sounded a bit audacious, actually issuing orders to these top domestic physicists; wasn’t this audacity?

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang secretly sweated a little, fearing that Lu Li would offend someone.

But those physicists didn’t think that way; they knew that Lu Li might indeed have some skills, otherwise, how could he have provided those two sets of data just now.

So, everyone looked at Wu Er Mountain.

Wu Er Mountain decisively said, ”Listen to Mr. Lu, just do it that way.”

Professor Wang immediately stood up and said, ”I’ll have someone adjust the magnetic field strength right away. Mr. Lu, come with me.”

Lu Li stood up, ”Okay.”

The two of them walked toward the other side of the instrument platform.

There were many staff members here.

Professor Wang stepped forward and said, ”Gradually weaken the magnetic fields at the top and bottom of the device. When Mr. Lu says it’s okay later, maintain the magnetic field strength at that level.”

”Okay, Professor Wang.”

”We’ll adjust the magnetic field strength right away.”

A few staff members responded and began to get busy.

Lu Li used his spiritual power to detect the magnetic field strength.

After a moment, he felt it was very close, ”Just slightly weaken it a bit more, then it should be about right.”

The staff adjusted the magnetic field strength.

A young staff member, around twenty-seven or twenty-eight, asked, ”How about now?”

Lu Li sensed it with his spiritual power, ”Hmm, I feel it’s suitable now.”

Professor Wang immediately said, ”Then I’ll let everyone prepare for today’s fourth experiment. Want to go rest first?”

Lu Li replied, ”Okay.”

He returned to sit beside Wu Er Mountain and the others.

Everyone was holding their breath and waiting.

After a while, Professor Wang came back to inform everyone, ”Everything is ready; we can start the experiment.”

Wu Er Mountain said, ”Let’s begin.”

Professor Wang immediately gave the order for the staff to start the experiment.

Various instruments were activated.

The data display screens also began to jump continuously.

Everyone stood there tensely, wanting to know if this experiment could successfully collect data.

Shen Xia was like this.

Wu Er Mountain was like this.

Professor Wang and the other physicists were like this too.

Even Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang were unblinkingly watching.

Although Lu Li wasn’t as tense as everyone else, he was still using his microscopic eyes to observe the instruments.

Time passed second by second.

Before long, the experiment was over.

Shen Xia, who had been staring at the data, suddenly exclaimed, ”My God! We collected the data!”

”Ah?”

”We collected the data?”

”Let me see.”

A few physicists hurried over to take a look.

Even Wu Er Mountain was helped up by someone to observe.

As for Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang, although they also joined in to watch, they were completely clueless about this stuff and were utterly confused.

They were utterly confused, but this group of physicists burst into commotion.

”Eighty antihydrogen atoms escaped from the bottom, indeed!”

”The gravitational acceleration affecting the antihydrogen atoms is exactly the same as the data from Europe, indeed it is 9.8 meters per second squared!”

”Totally accurate! Totally accurate!”

”Oh my god! Mr. Lu had us change the instrument settings once, and we not only collected data but also got the same data as from Europe!”

”Europe did over 24,000 experiments to finally get this result!”

”Even if there was a reference to follow and we avoided many detours, getting results on the fifteenth experiment is a little terrifying, isn’t it?”

This group of physicists was all excited, astonishing each other with their discussions.

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang looked at the excitement on everyone’s faces, they exchanged glances and were truly dumbfounded.

They had long known that Lu Li possessed miraculous medical skills.

But Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang really didn’t expect that Lu Li was so proficient in physics too.

No, saying proficient would be an insult to Lu Li.

To be able to guide this group of elite domestic physicists to complete an experiment, he must be a big shot in the physics world.

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang found it hard to believe that Lu Li, at such a young age, had such profound achievements in physics.

”Divine Doctor Lu is only in his twenties, yet he has reached the pinnacle in both medical skills and physics?”

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang simultaneously had the exact same thought.

It’s important to know that both medicine and physics are incredibly demanding fields of study, they are vast seas of knowledge.

And wanting to reach the top in even one field might take some people a lifetime of effort.

Now, Lu Li has not only excelled in one field but reached the pinnacle in both!

This took Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang completely by surprise.

Well, they had no clue that Lu Li actually knew only bits and pieces about physics.

”Thank you, Mr. Lu.”

”Thank you for giving us your suggestions and completing this experiment.”

”We really thank you, your suggestions saved us an unknown amount of funds, not to mention lots of time.”

The crowd gathered around Lu Li, expressing their gratitude while looking at him with heated gazes.

Lu Li replied humbly, ”No need to be so polite, maybe I just got lucky and happened to notice the anomaly in the data.”

Wu Er Mountain didn’t agree, ”Oh, Mr. Lu, don’t be so modest. To be honest, after more than a dozen experiments, I didn’t notice any problems, but you did right away. The credit for this accomplishment is entirely yours.”

Everyone present nodded in agreement.

To put it bluntly, these physicists knew very well that the fact they could immediately obtain data identical to what Europe published today was entirely due to Lu Li.

If it weren’t for Lu Li pointing out the issue with the magnetic field strength at the top and bottom of the device, they might have to conduct over a thousand experiments to discover this.

Who knows how much more money would have been wasted?

At least several million US dollars, perhaps even ten million!

Su City University hadn’t provided them with such a massive budget.

Simply put, even if they had detailed data from Europe, if they still couldn’t obtain the same data after hundreds of experiments, this experiment would likely face financial difficulties mid-way and could even take several years to be fully completed in the end.

For this reason, under Lu Li’s ”guidance,” the group of physicists repeated the experiment once more and directly obtained the specific data, each one looking at it with burning excitement.

At this moment, they all secretly rejoiced that Teacher Wu had the courage to trust Lu Li, otherwise how could they have obtained these two crucial bits of data so quickly?

Therefore, Professor Wang, Shen Xia, and several other physicists all felt a fervent excitement in their hearts.

They pondered over how profound Lu Li’s knowledge in physics truly was.

To be able to spot the issue after just observing the experiment once?

Surely, his mastery was exceedingly profound!

Thinking of this, Professor Wang couldn’t resist and curiously asked, ”Mr. Lu, where are you employed?”

Shen Xia and the other physicists all looked at Lu Li with heated, expectant eyes.

In their opinion, someone like Lu Li, who could spot an experimental problem at a glance, must also be a professional in the physics industry.

Perhaps he was a talented young individual nurtured by a research center, just not yet widely recognized.

Some even considered recruiting Lu Li to work at Su City University!

Under their intrigued gazes, Lu Li truthfully replied, ”Currently, I’m more like an unemployed drifter, but I’m a graduate of Su City University.”

What?

An unemployed drifter so impressive?

Professor Wang was somewhat skeptical and asked again, ”Did you graduate as a graduate student in physics from Su City University?”

Yes!

He must be a graduate in physics.

Otherwise, how could he spot the issue so quickly?

Everyone thought so.

Lu Li smiled wryly, ”No, I majored in the arts in university, unrelated to physics. And I’m not a graduate student; I’m just an ordinary undergraduate graduate.”

Shen Xia: ”...”

Wu Er Mountain: ”...”

Professor Wang and the others: ”...”

Damn!

An unemployed drifter with a liberal arts degree outshines us elite physicists?

Everyone was somewhat at a loss, almost coughing up blood.
