Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 174: Chapter 158: Cheating, Part 3

Below the table, Zhao Haizhe’s hole cards were a Hearts Ace and a Diamonds Queen.

Next, Greg’s hole cards were a Spades 6 and a Diamonds 7.

Suqi had a Clubs 2 and a Hearts 7.

Zheng Ya held a Clubs 8 and a Diamonds Jack.

Only Zhang Jianmin received a powerful hand: two Aces, one Spades and one Clubs.

If we only look at the hole cards, Zhang Jianmin has the best chance of winning, followed by Lu Li, since both of them have a pair.

This round, Lu Li was in the big blind position.

The first to bet was Zhao Haizhe, who was in the under the gun position.

Zhao Haizhe had an Ace and a Queen, a rather decent hand.

He thought for a moment and threw in chips worth 300,000.

Clearly, he wasn’t giving others the chance to see the flop for free.

Want to see the community cards?

Pay a price first!

He was putting pressure on everyone!

Greg’s 6 and 7, though of different suits, had a chance of forming a straight.

He couldn’t be satisfied without seeing the first round of community cards, ”Three hundred thousand? I’m in.”

Saying this, he also threw in the chips.

Next up was Suqi, who began to play along with Zhang Jianmin’s act, ”My hand’s not good, I’ll fold this round.”

Zheng Ya’s cards weren’t great either, but since Suqi had already folded, she couldn’t raise the stakes without calling, so she called as well.

Zhang Jianmin had discreetly dealt himself two Aces and had no intention of folding.

But even with good cards, he couldn’t show them off right away.

Otherwise, what if he scared Lu Li off, and he didn’t dare to call?

Zhang Jianmin pretended to mull over it for a long time, then hesitantly called.

This time, Lu Li didn’t raise, merely matching the chips.

The first round of betting finished.

Zhang Jianmin began to deal the first round of three community cards.

The first card was a Diamonds Ace.

The second card was a Spades 8.

The third card was a Hearts 9.

This round didn’t help Lu Li much.

His highest hand was still a pair of 3s.

It did help Zhao Haizhe, turning his high card into a pair of Aces.

For Greg, it was extremely helpful, but also very risky, because his hand was now 6, 7, 8, 9, dangerously close to a straight. If the next card was a 5 or a 10, his chances of winning would skyrocket. But in Texas Hold’em, you can’t guarantee the cards you want will come. It’s very possible the last two are duds, and then he’d lose the hand. There’s a lot of risk involved.

With Suqi folded, there wasn’t much to say.

Zheng Ya, however, had now transformed from nothing into a pair of 8s, surpassing Lu Li’s pair of 3s in winning odds.

Of course, the three community cards benefited Zhang Jianmin the most.

He now had trip Aces.

If an 8 or 9 comes up in the community cards later, he’d have a full house with Aces!

Zhao Haizhe’s hand had strengthened, and he should have continued to raise, yet he expressionlessly glanced around and unexpectedly knocked on the table, ”Check.”

No raise!

He actually didn’t raise!

Lu Li glanced over in surprise.

He didn’t understand why Zhao Haizhe wasn’t gunning for him.

Then Zheng Ya directly tossed in chips worth 200,000, ”Let’s raise a bit.”

Zhang Jianmin was determined to make Lu Li lose everything, but he couldn’t show it, so he again exhibited a very hesitant demeanor, then gritted his teeth and called the 200,000.

It was Lu Li’s turn, and everyone’s eyes were fixed on his face.

Just now, he had won the huge 820 million pot with a ”blind call.”

This round, would he confidently blind call without looking at the cards like before?

Everyone hoped that Lu Li would keep calling.

After all, their goal for coming here tonight was to take Lu Li down.

At this moment, everyone ardently wished for Lu Li to keep calling.

To make him cough up all the money he had won earlier.

Perhaps even... lose his entire bankroll!
