Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 183: Chapter 166: Social Status

Just having acquired a new skill, Lu Li definitely wants to give it a try.

He looked around and quickly locked onto a reference object for the experiment.

Lu Li looked at the TV in front of him.

He began attempting to scan the structure of various objects using his ”Primordial Spirit”.

Soon, the complete structure of the TV emerged clearly in his mind.

Lu Li instantly understood what parts the TV consisted of, how these parts were made, what materials were used, and so on. He comprehended it all in an instant.

It was not just understanding.

He had a certain feeling.

As long as there were enough materials.

He could entirely independently manufacture an identical TV.

Replicate a TV.

At first glance, it might not sound remarkable.

But in fact, Lu Li knew it was not so simple.

He could achieve true replication in the real sense.

Including how to produce the various semiconductor components within the TV.

”Wow, I can even replicate semiconductor technology?”

Lu Li’s eyes widened in disbelief.

There is a saying in the manufacturing industry:

Semiconductors are not like building an atomic bomb, but the difficulty is even higher than building one.

This gives an idea of how difficult semiconductor technology is.

”My consciousness projection is pretty awesome.”

Lu Li couldn’t help but feel secretly excited, thinking this skill was incredibly powerful.

If he had enough time to scan everything in the world.

He wouldn’t dare to say he could become omniscient and omnipotent.

At least, being omniscient and omnipotent on Earth would be quite easy.

Alright, it would take a lot of time, so it’s not that easy.

But anyway, with this skill developed, wanting to become as omniscient and omnipotent as a True God would no longer be an absurd idea.

Lu Li was thoroughly pleased with this skill.

Of course, scanning and replicating structure consumes a vast amount of Spiritual Power and energy rays.

Lu Li only scanned the TV and felt a 30% depletion in Spiritual Power, with energy rays consuming as much as 50%.

Furthermore, this skill is not just about scanning and replicating structure; it can also help simulate.

Lu Li attempted to simulate manufacturing a new TV.

He started simulating from the foundation gained during the scanning.

The next moment, he felt his consciousness projection beginning to ”filter” various materials, then follow each process, starting to generate over there.

This time, the consumption of Spiritual Power was even greater, but it didn’t consume energy rays.

Because of the scanning foundation.

In less than a minute.

A completely new TV was simulated and generated in his mind.

”A new TV simulated in just a minute?”

Lu Li felt secretly surprised.

To know that under current technical support, the normal development cycle for a brand new TV takes at least four to five months.

If some technologies haven’t been developed yet, like Hisense’s laser TV, the development cycle reached an astonishing eleven years!

”Wow, this skill is indeed very perverse.”

Lu Li was genuinely startled by the speed of the simulated generation.

Of course, surprise is surprise, but he still discovered the shortcomings of this skill.

Well, they can’t really be called shortcomings.

To be precise, they’re its inadequacies.

He can indeed simulate rapidly, but he needs to understand the materials first, then use various materials to simulate and test if it’s truly feasible.

”Looking at it this way, I can’t simulate it for the time being if I don’t understand the materials for engine development.”

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but smile, ”But as long as I use this consciousness projection skill to directly scan various materials, it should be possible to simulate quickly.”

Which is to say, with this skill, a significant portion of the 2 billion funding needed for engine development could indeed be saved.

Hmm, it definitely couldn’t be entirely unused, as you still have to produce a finished product, so you’ll need to spend a little money.

But compared to the 2 billion, this little cost is negligible.

Lu Li estimated that spending a few hundred thousand might just solve the problem.

The rest would be production issues, which he wouldn’t have to worry about.

He revealed a peculiar expression, ”I originally came to Macau to gather enough funding for engine development, only to unexpectedly develop consciousness projection, solving the problem with ease.”

So, does this mean the 900 million at hand could be freely squandered?

This left Lu Li in a dilemma.

He had thought about buying a private jet, which might cost three to five hundred million.

But with the remaining hundreds of millions, what should it really be spent on?

Having been used to being poor before, he suddenly couldn’t think of where to spend it.

Lu Li blinked, ”Qin Liang is a wealthy person, why not ask him to know how to spend it?”

...

Morning.

Lu Li and Qin Liang attended Qin Yuyong’s new company’s ribbon-cutting ceremony together.

The ribbon-cutting just finished now, and Qin Yuyong, Cheng Mu, Xu Min, and others were greeting guests.

Lu Li, accompanied by Qin Liang, was visiting the new company’s pharmaceutical research and development room, where there were many research staff.

The two of them just reached the door of the pharmaceutical molecular design and synthesis laboratory.

Qin Liang sighed and joked, ”Master Lu, you’ve really done me in this time.”

Lu Li, puzzled, asked, ”What?”

”The casinos here in Macau.” Qin Liang said while laughing and shaking his head: ”Last night, the news that you brutally won over 600 million Hong Kong dollars spread like wildfire, causing almost all the casinos in Macau to blacklist you and me, not allowing us to play.”

Lu Li said, somewhat speechless, ”It’s normal to blacklist me, but why include you too?”

Qin Liang said helplessly, ”Maybe because I took you there, so those casinos are scared, worried that I might bring someone as fierce as you to win again.”

Wow!

Is there really such a need to be so afraid?

Being blacklisted was expected.

Lu Li wasn’t surprised at all.

It’s just that those casinos were so afraid they blacklisted Qin Liang as well.

Honestly, he didn’t expect this.

This incident indirectly shows how scared those casinos are of him.

Lu Li didn’t make much of it.

Anyway, before he came, he was prepared to be blacklisted by the casinos.

After chatting a bit about the casino incident,

Lu Li changed the subject and asked, ”Hey, Lao Qin, what luxury items do wealthy people usually buy?”

Qin Liang, puzzled, asked, ”Why are you asking this?”

Lu Li looked around the lab and casually said, ”I have too much money in hand that I can’t spend.”

Qin Liang, being smart, immediately understood the meaning behind Lu Li’s words.

After thinking briefly, he said, ”In most people’s impression, luxury goods are nothing more than expensive bags, clothes, and jewelry with big brand logos. However, the luxury items that we in this circle indulge in are quite different from what ordinary people think.”

Lu Li, interested, said, ”Tell me more.”

Qin Liang cleared his throat and said, ”Not sure about others, but among the wealthy people I interact with, there’s a pursuit of scarcity in luxury items, roughly divided into limited editions, bespoke customizations, investment types, and experience types.”

Lu Li said, ”A bit more detail, please.”

Qin Liang instinctively reached for his cigarette.

He’d already taken it out.

Then, thinking this was a lab area,

He put the cigarette back in his pocket.

”Limited editions are easy to explain.” Qin Liang casually gave a few examples, ”Like Hermes’ Birkin bag, with only a few thousand produced worldwide each year, hard to get one. If you could get your woman such a bag, wouldn’t it give you face? There are also limited edition supercars. Not much to say about these.”

Lu Li nodded slightly, roughly understanding what he meant.

Qin Liang continued, ”Bespoke customization means you can tailor luxury items to your preferences and requirements, like a one-of-a-kind gown or a top luxury car. Oh, right, you wanted to buy a private jet, didn’t you? The interior can be customized too.”

Lu Li blinked and said, ”The interior can be customized too?”

”Of course,” Qin Liang laughed and said, ”The interior customization alone for my dad’s private jet cost about a hundred million. You might have seen it before; from the door handles, faucets, lights, and armrests to the mirror frames, every detail glitters with gold. Well, at his age, he likes gold. He believes gold not only represents grandeur but is also a great investment. There’s also a luxurious and extravagant bedroom in his private jet, which you haven’t seen.”

Lu Li pondered and nodded.

Qin Liang said, ”As for the investment type, they generally hold strong value preservation and appreciation potential, like antiques, wine, watches, and art pieces. Not only do these look prestigious, but they can also be sold in the future for considerable cash.”

Lu Li asked, ”What about experience-type luxury goods?”

Qin Liang, while turning a corner, laughed and said, ”Private jets, yachts, staying at top hotels, joining private clubs as a member — these all fall under experience-type luxury goods. Of course, some top-notch wealthy people play differently: some buy an island to build their own kingdom, others purchase farms to experience countryside living during leisure.”

At this point, he summarized, ”In short, the luxury consumption view of the wealthy people I know is vastly different from that of ordinary people. They pursue quality, scarcity, and experience rather than mere display. Even if they do buy what’s considered show-off luxury goods, it’s probably to reflect their social status.”

Lu Li roughly understood the point.

The reason he couldn’t think of where to spend his money was entirely because he hadn’t ”gotten into the right mindset.”

In his mind, he thought if he could just get by, that was enough.

For example, he thought having some luxury clothing, a luxury car, or a villa was enough.

In fact, this mindset was incorrect.

Because he has the money, but hasn’t enjoyed the experience of being rich, nor thought about ”investing” the money.

Lu Li now knew roughly where his money should be spent.

Or rather, after chatting with Qin Liang, he understood one thing.

What he needs isn’t just to elevate himself with those so-called luxury goods.

But he should improve his social status.

And then use unique luxury goods to embellish himself.

At this moment, Lu Li understood what he really wanted.

Yes, it’s social status.
