Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 91: Chapter 83: His Ruthlessness Far Exceeds Imagination

Thud!

Thud!

Two pursuers crashed to the floor in succession, letting out cries of agony.

The two groups engaged in a brawl were fighting fervently and hadn’t noticed the situation at the stairway entrance.

It wasn’t until the two pursuers were kicked to their feet that the baton-wielding brawlers stopped in bewilderment, looking around in confusion as if trying to figure out what had happened.

These two pursuers were on Old Jiang’s side. After being kicked away by Lu Li, they lay on the ground clutching their stomachs, moaning in pain.

Old Lu and Old Jiang were flabbergasted.

The dozen or so men they had each brought froze in astonishment.

Let alone these two groups who were so engrossed in their fight that they were confused about the situation.

Even Brother Gu and the onlookers were utterly amazed.

No one had expected this young guy to be so formidable.

To withstand two batons hitting him was one thing.

But to send people flying with a speed that couldn’t be captured by the naked eye?

”This...”

”Hiss, this guy seems a bit fierce!”

”I didn’t even see what happened, and the two of them were already dealt with?”

The crowd buzzed with astonishment.

Meanwhile, at the staircase entrance.

Liu Kexin was startled and quickly rushed up to grab Lu Li’s arm, asking, ”Lu Li, are you okay?”

Lu Li looked calm and smiled, ”What could possibly happen to me? Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Liu Kexin breathed a sigh of relief and turned her head to the side, ”Man Ni, are you okay?”

”I’m fine.”

Chen Man Ni seemed quite shaken, her face a bit pale.

Even so, she still helped the middle-aged man who had just fallen onto her to his feet.

As she assisted the man, Chen Man Ni’s gaze was fixed on Lu Li, even showing a hint of amazement.

Clearly, she hadn’t expected Lu Li to be able to block such harsh blows from batons with his arms.

What surprised her even more was that, during her unsteady moment, those two assailants were sent flying.

Although Chen Man Ni didn’t see Lu Li’s exact action, she knew it was him.

For a moment, Chen Man Ni was stunned, unable to believe that Lu Li, whom she always deemed to be gentle and harmless, could unleash such fierce power.

She was so taken aback that she didn’t even think to offer her thanks.

Perhaps it was because he saw his two men knocked to the ground.

The helper Old Jiang hired, Brother Pan, was infuriated.

He followed the crowd’s gaze.

Soon, he locked his eyes on Lu Li at the staircase entrance.

Brother Pan, towering at about 1.9 meters, strode towards Lu Li with his baton in hand.

Squinting down at Lu Li, Brother Pan said, ”Was it you who hit my brothers?”

He hadn’t seen clearly what had happened earlier; he only jumped forward to ask because everyone was staring at Lu Li.

If Lu Li had denied it, even if it was truly him, Brother Pan would find an excuse to let it go, pretending it wasn’t his doing.

After all, Brother Pan was involved in the underworld and didn’t want conflicts with ordinary people.

Such actions could bring trouble, like having the police on your back.

Liu Kexin and Chen Man Ni were slightly fearful seeing Brother Pan’s fierce demeanor.

Yet something unexpected happened to Brother Pan!

Lu Li stood in front of Chen Man Ni and Liu Kexin.

With a calm face, he looked up slightly and said quietly, ”I did it, what do you want to do about it?”

Hmm, up until now, he still thought it was about snatching the mining rights and didn’t know Brother Pan was called by Old Jiang to fight Old Lu.

Lu Li was puzzled, wondering if fighting for mining rights could be so intense that it involved a large gang brawl?

He pondered for a moment, musing that perhaps he needed to knock all these people down to gain the mining rights.

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but sigh internally, telling himself he might have to demonstrate his combat power today.

”Good! Good! Good!”

Brother Pan was so angry he laughed.

He really didn’t expect Lu Li to not only ”face up to his actions” but even answered so arrogantly.

This was undoubtedly a provocation!

Brother Pan, being someone quite known in his circles, couldn’t possibly swallow this insult.

Even as he smiled with rage, he suddenly raised his baton, swinging it fiercely at Lu Li’s head.

He seemed intent on teaching Lu Li a harsh lesson, and at the same time, intimidating the other onlookers to regain face.

His action was so sudden.

Many people didn’t even react!

Liu Kexin saw this and her face turned pale with fright, ”Lu Li!”

Chen Man Ni also exclaimed, ”Don’t!”

However, they were too slow to shout.

Or maybe Brother Pan was too determined.

In the blink of an eye, the baton whistled through the air, coming within ten inches above Lu Li’s head!

With such force, so fierce.

Wouldn’t it crack open a head?

The onlookers were startled.

Brother Gu was also in shock, feeling that something big was about to happen.

It was highly likely a fatal incident would occur here, followed by orders for rectification.

But just as everyone was on edge, an astonishing scene unfolded!

Everyone only saw a blur, as Lu Li inexplicably sidestepped Brother Pan’s fierce attack.

That was not all—seeing how ruthless the opponent was, Lu Li was not as ”merciful” as before.

With lightning speed, he grabbed the back of Brother Pan’s head and suddenly slammed it forward!

As a result, everyone watched as Brother Pan seemed to fly through the air, his face slamming hard into the ground!

Bang!

A dull thud echoed.

Brother Pan lay there, life and death unknown.

A trail of bright red blood spread!

Brother Gu was dumbfounded at that moment!

Liu Kexin and Chen Man Ni were also startled by Lu Li’s fierceness.

The remaining one or two hundred onlookers, Old Lu, Old Jiang, and twenty or thirty thugs were all stupefied.

Brother Pan was caught off guard by the sneak attack; Lu Li not only managed to dodge but also pinned him down with such force—whether dead or alive was unknown?

Everyone felt a chill down their spines, intimidated by Lu Li’s brutality!

Liu Kexin was also taken aback. She had heard before about Lu Li’s formidable combat prowess, of his ability to take down a dozen armed criminals alone and even dismantle cars barehanded, but she had never witnessed it firsthand.

Seeing it now, Liu Kexin realized that all the rumors must have been true!

Lu Li didn’t bother about Brother Pan’s condition, nor did he care how others perceived him.

He just wanted to finish dealing with this group quickly and gain the right to ”open the package.”

Lu Li looked toward the large group of thugs holding batons.

”And you lot, I’ll handle you quickly and then pick my materials.”

Saying this, he shrugged off his jacket and tossed it aside, revealing his muscular arms.

Once Lu Li removed his jacket, everyone saw his Gucci T-shirt, tightly stretched over his robust chest and abs.

Chen Man Ni naturally saw it too. Her eyes widened, seemingly not expecting Lu Li’s physique to be so ”packed,” looking slim yet actually packed with muscle.

Lu Li strode powerfully toward the groups of baton-wielding thugs.

Originally in a daze, Old Jiang and the group of Brother Pan’s underlings finally snapped out of it when they saw Lu Li approaching aggressively.

A young man with a buzz cut suddenly got angry, ”You bastard, how dare you beat Brother Pan like this? Brothers, get him!”

Saying this, he charged at Lu Li with a baton.

”Get him!”

”Beat the hell out of him!”

The remaining ten or so of Brother Pan’s underlings, furious, quickly rushed toward Lu Li, raising their batons to strike at him.

A dozen people attacking with weapons!

This was a completely different situation from a one-on-one or one-on-two fight earlier.

Brother Gu nervously broke into a sweat for Lu Li.

The hundred or so onlookers felt some reluctance in their hearts.

They feared Lu Li would be smashed into pulp by Brother Pan’s underlings’ batons.

Liu Kexin was even more anxious, clenching her hands tightly.

Chen Man Ni was so shocked she covered her mouth with her hand.

Who would have thought, at this moment, something even more shocking happened.

As soon as Lu Li saw everyone moving, he pushed off the ground with his legs with all his might, propelling himself like a cannonball into the crowd, dodging baton attacks while landing heavy punches on the attackers’ abdomens.

”Ah!”

The buzz-cut young man, who spoke earlier, was hit in the abdomen by Lu Li’s punch, lifting him over a meter off the ground, then crashing down sweating, clutching his stomach and wailing.

Lu Li didn’t pause at all.

After attacking the buzz-cut, he, as if having eyes in the back of his head, fiercely delivered an elbow strike backward.

A scream followed instantly.

Everyone saw a round, about two hundred-pound man, similarly sent flying by the elbow strike, crashing to the ground and howling continuously.

Although this all sounds complicated, it actually happened in an instant.

The group attacking Lu Li hardly reacted before losing two combatants.

Some immediately got scared, wanting to beg for mercy.

Unfortunately, Lu Li was too fast.

He weaved through the crowd like a phantom, punching, elbowing, or whipping his leg.

Regardless if it was Brother Gu, Liu Kexin, or Chen Man Ni watching.

Or the onlookers, Old Lu, and his invited thugs.

All they heard were screams echoing through the floors, as one after another figure was sent flying to the ground.

In less than ten seconds, there were already over a dozen thugs lying on the ground in agony!

At this moment, on the battlefield, besides the thugs writhing all over the ground, only two figures remained standing there.

One of them was Old Jiang, who hadn’t joined the thugs in attacking Lu Li.

Even though he still held a baton in his hand, his face had turned a ghostly white from fear.

The other was, naturally, the awe-inspiring Lu Li.

Old Jiang was trembling violently all over, looking at Lu Li with extreme fear!

Everyone looked at Lu Li’s seemingly slim yet explosively powerful body with eyes filled with dread!

In under ten seconds.

One person took down over a dozen weapon-wielding thugs?

Everyone had seen Lu Li kick two people flying and pin Brother Pan before, knowing he was ferocious.

But they truly never expected that Lu Li’s ferocity was far beyond what anyone could imagine!
