Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 85: Chapter 78: Comprehensive Evolution

In the evening, after dinner.

Lu Li made an excuse to leave, deliberately leaving Wang Yu at home.

He knew that Wang Yu would definitely cooperate with the special department to search the house.

Or install micro-monitoring devices to track his every move.

As the saying goes, it’s better to guide than to block.

He currently didn’t have the capability to compete with firearms.

Rather than displaying resistance and attracting unnecessary trouble,

it would be better to pretend to know nothing while living under their watch.

Hmm, just to let them think so.

Lu Li possessed various superpowers, and if Wang Yu really cooperated with the special department to install micro-monitoring devices in the house, he would surely discover them.

By then, he could live under their watch and gain some stability.

As for privacy, he could definitely detect those micro-monitoring devices.

Couldn’t some privacy still be found in the blind spots of those devices?

”It’s a pity that the ability to transform couldn’t be developed, otherwise, it wouldn’t be this troublesome.”

Lu Li felt puzzled.

This evolution wasn’t entirely without reaction.

For example, his bones often had piercing pain.

His muscles and skin occasionally felt uncomfortable.

Other than that, there were no changes.

With this in mind, he headed to the hotel.

Pressed the doorbell.

Ding dong, ding dong.

”Coming.”

A voice from Burning Babe came from inside.

A moment later, the door opened.

Burning Babe appeared in front of him wearing pink pajamas.

Upon seeing Lu Li, she immediately smiled, ”Brother Lu, you’re here?”

Just as Lu Li was about to respond.

He suddenly noticed her injured arm gently rubbing her waist.

He blinked and asked, ”Is your waist itchy? Want me to scratch it for you?”

”No, no need.” Burning Babe moved aside, somewhat troubled, ”I feel like there’s some itch inside the bone of my arm, and I can’t reach it, it’s a bit uncomfortable.”

Lu Li walked inside, and the sound of the door closing came from behind him, showing concern: ”An itch in the bone? Could there be a problem? How about I take you to the hospital for a check-up?”

He sat down on a chair by the bed.

”I’ve called the doctor.” Burning Babe sat down on the edge of the bed, facing Lu Li, ”The doctor said it’s a normal phenomenon. Localized increased blood flow and bone cell regeneration, or fixations may cause local irritation to the skin, leading to mild itchiness.”

Hmm?

Localized increased blood flow, bone cell regeneration, could cause itching?

Lu Li suddenly thought of something.

Since he began trying to evolve the transformation ability, it had been several days.

Didn’t he often experience piercing pain and itching in his muscles and skin?

Could it be that his body had unintentionally undergone some evolution?

But he hadn’t noticed it?

Thinking of this, Lu Li became interested, deciding to observe carefully.

He stretched out his hand and said, ”Give me your hand.”

Burning Babe thought he was joking, and handed him her uninjured left hand, ”Brother Lu, what’s up?”

”Oh, let me read your palm.”

Lu Li babbled, holding her delicate hand.

A sensation of smoothness was transmitted.

Burning Babe joked, ”You can read palms? Then take a good look, things haven’t been going smoothly for me lately.”

”Haha, I’ll definitely take a good look for you.”

Lu Li didn’t focus on whether her hand was smooth or not.

He activated his X-ray vision and looked at her muscles, skin, and bones, memorizing their general appearance.

Burning Babe, seeing him so focused, couldn’t resist asking, ”How’s my palm reading?”

Lu Li instinctively looked up, preparing to make something up, ”Hmm, your palm reading... whoa, so big!”

”My palm reading... whoa, so big?” Burning Babe was confused, ”What do you mean?”

Lu Li quickly turned off his X-ray vision, coughed, and said, ”I mean, your palm reading indicates great fortune.”

Burning Babe widened her eyes, ”Really? What about the love line?”

Lu Li made up a few things.

Soon, he excused himself to the bathroom.

Once inside, he turned on his X-ray vision again.

Checking his own arm.

”Hmm?” Lu Li noticed something strange right away, ”What’s going on with the color of my arm bones?”

In the X-ray vision perspective, his arm bones appeared thicker and denser than Burning Babe’s.

This wasn’t a real issue.

After all, compared to women, the bones of adult males are like this.

The issue was that normally, human bones are white in color.

The main reason is the bones contain abundant calcium and phosphorus.

Of course, fresh bones might show blood veins or a light reddish color.

That’s a rare case.

In general, they are white.

But now, his bones faintly appeared to be a jade color?

”My bones must have undergone evolution recently!”

This was Lu Li’s first reaction.

He continued to observe the muscles and skin.

He found that the color was somewhat different compared to that of the Flame Baby.

For example, the bone marrow of the Flame Baby is sparse little white grains.

His own bone marrow, however, is a faint ”frost white” and dense, like a thick layer of white frost.

In addition, the blood is also different.

The Flame Baby’s blood is crimson, flowing somewhat like water.

His own blood is very viscous, with specks of ”starlight” on it.

This ”starlight” is almost identical to the energy beams he saw in his evolution dream.

”And my muscles also seem to be filled with ’starlight’.”

Lu Li turned off his X-ray vision again and observed the skin on his arms with his naked eyes.

”The skin has become smoother, as if covered by a layer of white jade.”

He could basically confirm that he had indeed evolved all over his body in recent times!

”If I’m not mistaken, it should be that I am evolving for the transformation technique, so my whole body is sublimating.”

Lu Li’s interest was greatly piqued.

Since his body had been sublimating recently, had the intensity gone up?

He looked down at the bottom of the dressing mirror and saw several eyebrow shavers.

These blades are very sharp.

If you’re not careful during eyebrow trimming, it’s easy to cut yourself.

Lu Li picked up one of the eyebrow blades and gently pricked his skin.

As he pierced, he watched.

He found that the tip of the blade had pierced the skin.

However, the skin was not immediately broken open.

Instead, it was resilient enough to block it.

”Under normal circumstances, with this force, my skin would definitely be broken.”

Lu Li thought to himself, ”Now my skin is fine, not even feeling pain, which means the defensive power has greatly increased.”

He continued to try increasing the force.

Wanting to see the skin’s limit of endurance.

As the force increased, a stinging sensation gradually spread over his skin, yet it still wasn’t cut open.

Lu Li was quite amazed, ”At the very least, I’ve used force weighing tens of pounds, and the blade still can’t cut my skin?”

Normally, this force could easily cut open a large wound on a person’s arm.

He was somewhat unconvinced.

Continued to try increasing the force!

About a hundred kilograms of force was applied.

The pain grew intense, but the skin still wasn’t cut.

Then increased to around one hundred and fifty kilograms.

With a slight tear sound, the skin was finally cut open.

What was amazing was that although the skin was cut, no blood immediately flowed out.

Instead, Lu Li felt that the muscle automatically tightened at that moment, seemingly not wanting the blade to go in deeper!

”Around one hundred and fifty kilograms of force to break the skin’s defense?”

”Most importantly, after breaking the skin’s defense, the muscle seems to be able to perform a deeper layer of defense?”

Lu Li stopped trying, showing a pensive look on his face, ”Judging from the test so far, an average adult male wielding a knife shouldn’t pose a threat to me anymore, but hot weapons are still beyond defense.”

An adult male’s knife swing impact is about one hundred to one hundred and fifty kilograms.

His skin can withstand a blade with one hundred and fifty kilograms of force, which basically means it can withstand a swing.

As for the kinetic energy of bullets, it’s too great.

For example, the frontal pressure when a pistol bullet is fired is about five thousand four hundred newtons.

To convert into pounds, that’s roughly five hundred and fifty kilograms.

Such a strong impact, at present, his body definitely can’t withstand.

Lu Li was thinking.

Suddenly, he was startled to discover that the cut on his arm, made with the blade just now, had already healed completely.

”Huh?” Lu Li was dumbfounded, ”It hasn’t even been a minute, and the wound has completely healed?”

Although the cut just now was not small, and his body’s evolution has greatly enhanced its recovery ability, for the wound to heal entirely in less than a minute still left him quite shocked.

”According to the recovery speed I had from disassembling a car bare-handed that night, this wound would take about four to five minutes to return to its original state, now it’s at least five times faster?”

Lu Li found it somewhat incredible.

At the same time, he finally understood why despite absorbing so much energy, the transformation technique hadn’t evolved yet.

Because this skill is so exceptional.

So exceptional that it is enhancing the body’s attributes comprehensively!

Lu Li faintly understood one thing, that is, to complete the evolution of the transformation technique, the energy required might be immensely vast.

”Simply eating food, who knows how long it will take to gather that.”

He felt that he needed to evolve a skill that could absorb energy at all times, perhaps that could accelerate the completion of the ”transformation technique.”

”That blogger said last time, once you reach a higher state of evolution, the pores can absorb free energy from the air, I will try tonight to see if I can evolve this skill, once I can, then, the evolution process of the transformation technique should shorten a lot of time.”

Lu Li secretly made up his mind.

He was very clear that if he could complete the transformation technique evolution, his physique would leap to a qualitative change!

By then, although it couldn’t be said that he’d become a superman, surpassing Captain America would basically not be a problem.

”And...” Lu Li’s eyes sparkled as he stared at himself in the makeup mirror, ”perhaps at that time, I could ignore the shooting of bullets, possessing a body that is impenetrable by knife or gun!”

Today’s discovery was simply too exhilarating for him.

Once he possessed a body impervious to knife or gun, then, he would basically not need to adhere much to the worldly rules.

Speaking of which, he really had to thank the Flame Baby for this discovery.

If it weren’t for Flame Baby’s itchiness and sharing some specific details, he would have thought that the transformation technique had evolved for many days without any response.

Lu Li secretly encouraged himself, ”Okay, starting tonight, I’ll focus on evolving the ability to absorb energy through pores, striving to become superhuman quickly!”
